So my wife just said to me: ‘When you uploaded that video I thought it was going to be SOOOO boring, but I really enjoyed it’… maybe it was because I wasn’t talking???
Great video, I remember in the 80's and 90's me and my Skeeter would make runs like that here in California, sold my boat after 20 years of tournament fishing, had a great time with my partner all those years...............

@@matthewmclin8027you are absolutely wrong bud. It’s a Phoenix #1 which is a solid handling boat. #2 very few get killed if they just flip or toss the boat before they are typically thrown into the water far away from it. You will die if hitting another boat or object head on at 73.
Feels so good to roll out first thing in the morning with a bunch of other boats. We wave a hat and blast Led Zeppelin, ac/dc, classic rock when our number is called. I love getting to the spot and watching 10 boats buzz by 🤘
Hahahaha, there’s a lot going on hey mate! Just read your last comment also. Really nice of you to say that stuff mate and super pumped the channel is helping you fish and adding to the experience.
Man that 721 moves. I have a 99 TR21 and itll do 74 with the 225 efi and a 4 blade. The only downfall is when you get in rougher boat wake like the video. It definitely hits back pretty hard. I just rode in a friend's 721 and it rides a little better than mine but he was only getting 72-73 with the new merc 250 like your boat. It kind of surprised me that he wasn't seeing upper 70s, but I didn't mind since I was the passenger in 40 degree weather lol. That was a cold ride
This is the soundtrack from my Hotel Room in Cancun! Awesome video and I LOVE making this run. My 1st was when I was 10 with my dad in his Terry! We were only doing 50s! lol
“Yup, he did” sounding like a yank already. Really enjoyed this one, interesting (start, and the lock wtf- so close to each other), and yet so entertaining (the run, and that doing 100+ thru a tiny weed pad). This is great.
Now this is pod racing! LOL I don't fish for bass but I sure do like watching those glitter boats haul ass across the water! sometimes I get up early just to watch my local lake tournament's shotgun start.
Driving throught the chine walk and wake like a pro!!! Its one thing to have to deal with chine walking but chine walking and wake is a totally diffrent beast!!! Got me wanting to hook up my champion and hit the water!!!
I have fished Kissimmee chain alot. Cruising the Kissimmee river to toho or from toho to Kissimmee can get pretty busy. And its fast zone. U gotta be careful u can get into trouble if ur not familiar jumping wakes. I dont personally like to go 70 going over wakez but many people do
To tge fella that said there's only one boat thatll compete with a bullet hes right and both are made right here in Tennessee clise to Good Ole Rocky Top. And that boat is of course the fastest bass boat ever recorded THe One and Only ALLISON! Another super fast Tn Boat is a Stroker.
I was coming around a bend in the lake once at full throttle. Had the boat trimmed just right. Saw a June bug in a banked turn coming in the opposite direction. It was like slow motion. We had a head on collision. He smacked me in the forehead at around 100mph! Right between the eyes mid forehead. It felt like being hit with a ball peen hammer! Speedo and gps both said I was running in the low to mid 80’s. I figured the June bug was flying around 15-20 mph. I don’t think the bug made it but I carried a welt on my forehead for a week in remembrance,! 😂 Now when I run top end in the summer I wear a helmet! Large raindrops sting a little too! Thankfully I haven’t been caught in a hailstorm yet. 😂
Thanks for reminding me why I don’t fish tournaments. It still blows me away people wearing inflatable PFD’s and running speeds not smart. 100 mph foam vest at speeds the inflatable is fine for deck fishing.
We got a couple nice ones and had a great day. That storm was crazy though. Florida has some wild afternoon weather. I’m really flattered that people want to watch it to be honest mate!
Hope he was on some damn good fish to make that long ass run, go through a lock, duck out of a storm, plow through those mats, and run straight towards lightining...
I own a Bullet with a 225 on it and I out run Phoenix boats all day. So to say one will run 78 to 79 with one fisherman is BS. My friend has the same setup and he won't even run me anymore since I made him eat wake.
I wish you would have turned off the music and left the real sound. I love hearing the water hitting the boat, the wind, and the motor running. Cut the music!
Mmm. 80 boats - pretty sure I'd be boat 80 at the lock regardless of how fast my boat could go. That's just plain scary... And having been hit by lightning in the middle of Port Stephens, i can tell you, that's no fun.
Yeah we had a proper scare moment when that went off. I think Jeremy and I were both worried for a moment. I’m glad you’re ok, I’d like to hear about the experience actually Matthew, what happened?
@ByronTeaHill Long story short. Fishing outside (Fingal Island) and could see a storm brewing down south. Immediately up-anchored and flew back in towards Soldiers Point ramp, but the storm cell was moving too fast and it beat me there. Dropped anchor near some yachts with tall masts thinking they'd be hit before me - alas not. The lightning hit my rocket launcher and detonated anything electric on board. Luckily I was careful enough not to touch any metal at all or I'd have probably not fared well. All my fishing rods on board turned into graphite fairy floss. Also, luckily, I had my mobile in my pants pocket, and it didn't get destroyed, so I was able to call marine rescue and get help. I've variously been hit by lightning three times now (only once in a boat), so that's enough...
Show some common courtesy. Going two wide in canals is not cool where I'm from and could be dangerous. You have no clue how much experience the other boat drivers have. Something could blow out of their boat and an inexperienced driver could suddenly turn without looking. Nice boat.
I didn’t see the chaos . Bass boat driving is full send every time the motor is running . There is 2 speeds in my boat wide open . And sitting on the trailer .
These boats aren’t toys anymore. My friend broke his back last spring in his 20ft nitro. Taking a wake the wrong way at those speeds isn’t for a novice.

That’s NASCAR on water with no safety systems except a kill switch that keeps you from getting chewed up and a life jacket who’s job is to keep your mangled body floating after you’ve smacked the steering wheel, console and windshield on your way out 😳 Otherwise, what an adrenaline rush! 😂
