  • Land Cruiser 150 Prado. Vibration/Rattle from driver's side dash area caused by intake air duct contact with fender panel. Applying felt to the contact areas is all you need to fix this.

    They did the job! Thank you very much mate. I used heavy duty cloth backed tape instead of the felt.

    To add I have a 2023 Hilux model, same rattle as this mainly at tick over, The Toyota foam ring to the inner wing to separate the airbox tube from the metal, but it still rattled, the dealer added a screw through the intake tube to squish the foam ring a little, the noise completely stopped, The vehicle only has 1000km on the clock.
    Thanks for this superb video, I was truly fed up with the rattle.

    Is this the Toyota quality? Mine has this really annoying sound at the same place, this trick did NOT solve the issue, it is driving me crazy.

      2021 Prado has a slightly modified intake air duct to prevent this from happening. You can also apply this fix to rectify the noise

      will do that. Is there any thing in the right side which possibly to make such noise.In case this does not work@@nunawadingtoyota8134

    Ridiculous that my local Toyota wants to charge $250+ for a 5 year old car. How is known bad design my problem and cost?

      Hi
      Thanks for watching, appreciate the feedback. Is it something you can perhaps fix yourself given the information in this video?

    • @moshesheckel7369
      @moshesheckel7369 Год назад +1

      Fix it yourself sunshine... this guy has been nice enough to show you exactly how to do it!
      How is a rattle or squeak Toyota's problem on a 5 year old car with x amount of klms? It's not like it's a serious issue calling for a safety recall!
      Be realistic.

    I have the same rattle sound at around 1900 rpm. However, the driver seat is on the opposite side. Could it be the same problem?

    • @FUEL8TING
      @FUEL8TING 4 месяца назад

      Is the rattle still from the same corner as your air intake? If it is, then probably, yes

    • @humoudpdx1588
      @humoudpdx1588 4 месяца назад

      @@FUEL8TING The rattle is on the opposite side of the air intake, and it only appears at a low speed at around 1900 rpm . Once you go above or below the 1900 the drone like sound goes away

    • @FUEL8TING
      @FUEL8TING 4 месяца назад

      Hard to tell without seeing the car. But could be injectors(if its diesel)

    • @humoudpdx1588
      @humoudpdx1588 4 месяца назад

      @@FUEL8TING yes it is diesel and it new 2023 and has only 3000kms

      Unfortunately not to sure then, but at that age it sounds like a manufacturers problem to fix to me

    I have used High Density EVA that is self adhesive on one side to stop rattles or rub spots in cars and the boat, the advantage of EVA over Felt is that it doesnt absorb or hold any water or moisture .

    • @agrev8
      @agrev8 13 дней назад

      How thick was the EVA you used?

    • @nunawadingtoyota8134
      @nunawadingtoyota8134  13 дней назад

      @agrev8 Hi. I used felt, approximately 0.5mm thickness
