1:58 lets just take a moment to appreciate the simplicity of that wall in the background. I mean its holding up the ceiling, which is holding the ac ducts and lights, which is cooling off and lighting up the area for those players.
pretty slick show man. i loved playing tenors. in fact, this one time during a show at a football game, right at the end of our first part, the drumline went into a pretty hyped up drum break. we finished and right on my last note before a step off at 160bpm, my j-hook snapped completely in half and i had to basically march leaned over as best i could the rest of the show. and then the next game, my harness sheared a bolt and i marched with only 1 shoulder pad, cause we didn't have the harnesses with back supports. hahaha. good times
Lol, fellow freshman snare here. 2 of the seniors on the snare line have padding on both of their carriers, I don’t. I got the crappy one and a bunch of screws dig into my back while marching 😂
genesis was the first drum corps I ever saw in person (evanston 4th of July parade). I remember being in awe of how many people were part of it and being excited when you guys cheered on our center snare. This comment kinda made me disheartened, especially because you guys will be a world class corps this year and will be competing against bd. Don't be rude if you don't have to, as I'm sure baritones have downtime during shows too.
Well originally the joke was that I literally got to lie down on the field for the entire last minute of our show. Just poking fun at not doing anything during a show and whatnot.
stanfoo nah bro I’ve seen the music and it’s by no means simple at all, like I’d rather read and play cadets music, they just ram stuff out but this is super open and polymetric
I think hearing this show was better then seeing it, but seeing and hearing the 2003+2008 shows live was SPECTACULAR at University of the Pacific in Stockton California.
Spock one is on the left, and is used mostly as a tonal drum, almost treated as one of the for main drums. Spock two can be used for tonal playing, but it works really well for shots.
+Miles Kenobbie 🔥 🙌 I'd rather hear yall's raw q skills instead of boring easy electric stuff. Thanks for uploading this video, being part of b🎶d and having killer hands on those tets bro🙌 🔥
i like how system blue took everything bad about all the drum carriers on the market and put it into one, a tiny chest plate, the two tiny holes where the drum is seated, no back support of any kind lol but if you are sacrificing quality for how light the drums are you dont need a good quality carrier
Demons Those tenors are the new ones by system blue, they're the lightest drums out there (snare, tenors, and bass) because most of the framework is made of carbon fiber
I’ve marched with a system blue tenor then next show a pearl tenor and the system blue tenor was 4x lighter to me than the pearl ( by next show I meant next practice )
My school got them my senior year and you'd be surprised how much of a difference weight wise the one bigger spock makes haha. A lot more fun to play though
Thing I have noticed about the blue devils is that they have moments, when they are playing hard shit, THEY ARE PLAYING HARD SHIT! but when they aren't it's really boring stuff

The harnesses we have at my school are so bad the should couldn't possibly break like that

3 Things happened today:
1. my neighbour said he didn't like this tenorline
2. he got hit by a bus
3. i lost my bus drivers license
Omg nice
well he deserved it for not liking this tenorline
Well I can’t read lol
When everyone laughs at one vocal but rue was talking during the entire show...
3:08 Everytime you pull out your r8.
1:46 that tenor/bass precision
I love the section at 5:04 to 5:24
So clean with the rims cut out. It was also changed quite a lot from other videos I've seen.
Hell yeah
Well I can't read
Darryle Moore II my high school drum line used that audible
Darryle Moore II spongebob reference i think
Lmao
I love the sound of the new drums. Cuts through perfectly. Very cool shell change. I don't think that has ever been done before. Awesome.
yeah theyre system blue natal drums
I wish I had that much downtime in a show.
No kidding! Geez!
The guy plays quads lol.
Drumber Gunnerer Don't call someone stupid if you can't spell.

EpicMem and?
Yeah them bitches are heavy
that’s what you get for being in drum corps🤣
He’s packing
@@skinbagmusic9530 well they are using system blue tenors which arnt heavy as people are saying they are
I always find myself coming back to this video. The sound of these tenors is pure sex to the ears i syn.
so sad they got rid of the second split in their opening feature
This is so awesome man!
Josh!
I can't even imagine what the music for this looked like... it probably didn't even look like music
Dean Natale its just sixteenth notes and other notes combined
stanfoo nah bro I’ve seen the music and it’s by no means simple at all, like I’d rather read and play cadets music, they just ram stuff out but this is super open and polymetric
i dont know much about DCI but jesus H christ! how long does it take to get choreography this complex down pack for a show?!?!
3:08 to 3:15 seriously
I've never seen anything so necessary in my entire life
it made the show better
Alex Neagu He wasn't meant to play at the moment anyway. Stick flips don't make you a douche. It's a really fun extra little skill.
Slurmp I didn't day he was a douche? I was amazed lol
*insert 'u must be fun at parties' meme here
10:14 SKRRT SKRRT
I love how you guys talk. to help with subdivision and other things... it's pretty chill

0:30 holy shit that split precision
The Force is strong with this one...
Hey Holmes, I liked your I&E solo.
1:22 is amazing it made me laugh so hard
5:00-5:45 sheets?
Ian Fowler look up blue devils caliban tenor sheet music
Edit: I realized you commented this 3 years ago :/
1:22 i cant read
I think he was teasing someone in a different line (maybe that girl).
Dashie The Drummer I think it was a Spongebob reference
Sounds familiar, but I can't remember the episode (because for some reason I used to be a pro at spongebob quotes)
Dashie The Drummer Haha yea I'm pretty sure it was the one where Plankton's family invaded the Krusty Krab to steal the formula or something
Oh yeah I remember xD that's great
Was your nickname "Obi-Wan"?
Too cool. Great work everyone. Thanks for making this video.
my favorite quad line prolly ever
What if the "I can't read" was an actual audible in their show?
2:46 lol
The shells look cool oh i just realized that those wernt shells...
5:05
commenting to save this spot
Anyone know where I can find the sheets to the break at 5:00 ??
ReignSupreme9 look up caliban blue devils tenor music and you should find it
maybe they didnt win because they incorporated a justin bieber song into their show
Blaine Burns where?
Aquamelon! 5:28
Well they won with Rihanna the next year. Gotta pick the lesser of two evils, dawg.
Maybe it was because down side up
@@0Aquamelon bro I see you on emc and here... stop stalking me. Or am I stalking you? 🤔🤔
5:48 lol is he saying Bob Becker?
Bob Benson

You got robbed in I and E man
Fresh Prince 17 true
Agreed
I am not a tenor player, but why is there 2 spocks? Is it Spock 1&2?
Some bands/corps use 1, some use 2 (sometimes the two are the same size, sometimes not)
It's really interesting seeing how many new patterns open up when you have 2 instead of 1
Spock one is on the left, and is used mostly as a tonal drum, almost treated as one of the for main drums. Spock two can be used for tonal playing, but it works really well for shots.
1:21 well apparently you can read music
It's a joke
@@zzleezy and so was this comment
These videos are amazing. And something different
I just realized all of the tenor line is wearing neon yellow shorts
You again.
you are everywhere bro
@@knifeknife69 moreso on old drum corps vids than new ones.
2:48 is that part of the show or a cheeky reference to the homework comps?
sketch I know this is late, but he never made homework comps until after he marched this show.
1:19 Cousin Clam!!!!
why did the split in the opener get cut?
The judges couldn't hear it. The pit covered it up with electronics.
+Miles Kenobbie
🔥 🙌 I'd rather hear yall's raw q skills instead of boring easy electric stuff. Thanks for uploading this video, being part of b🎶d and having killer hands on those tets bro🙌 🔥
Yeah same man. I hate that stupid easy electronic music.
Garrison Goodwin yeah man. It's just pressing buttons. Drum corps? More like, drum and dance EDM corps amirite?
Zachary Hudson talk about oversimplifying it holy shit
0:41 Quads have weird visuals lmao
Yeah, we can't do much lol
can someone help me I'm trying to learn the tenor part for the drum break at 5:05 but I cant find the music anywhere

Josh Paul pretty sure it's one of the last rehearsals before finals
ThePlaugeOfPandas thanks!

hitting_things_with _broken_trees welp they got that back support now lol
June Thanos Churchill so they just use Randall may now?
hitting_things_with _broken_trees yeah, it looks like it
That sounds exactly the same as pearl lol. I guess with a bigger pad though.
4:52 when my older sibling gets up

Zach Singer I
Zach Singer indeed it is
How heavy are your quads?
Demons Those tenors are the new ones by system blue, they're the lightest drums out there (snare, tenors, and bass) because most of the framework is made of carbon fiber
35 pounds
Yamahas are still lighter at 29 pounds
This guy and his jokes during performances
1:20 spongebob quote?
Beautiful music
miles you are a monster dude
How heavy are the System Blue quads?
Damn. My schools quads were heavier then that.
The Majestic Poptart There's no way it's only 20 pounds with a full plastic carrier. Probably 30-45 would be more reasonable.
bloofanatic306 I mean you never know it is carbon fiber
The Majestic Poptart ah haha. I feel stupid now lol
@@Prof.CheeseDog my school has them, they are 60 lbs for instance I’m 120 lbs but it’s not bad when you get used to it
how heavy are the drums in comparison to the old pearls ?
ryan bishop Light af
So these are the new system blue tenors?
I like this drum line but why did so many bands used to have grown men talking seductively in random parts of shows
Am I the only one who is amused by the quick slip change and it looks like they come out with different drums
that's the point because it's 2 different parts of the show
What did you guys use to hold down the red a blue wraps?
I think magnets
+Luke Hansard ya they're magnetic on both ends but easily removable
+Matty Dawson 😎
what type of heads are these I need to know so I can purchase them for my school
Nicolas Gottero system blue tenor heads

What carriers do you use?
Do you give lessons?
Is there a way that somebody can send me this music
