Julie, I do believe the jar w/ strainer is for bacon grease. I absolutely love he basket’s you found. They are really nice. The pie crust top table you found is an old piece. The ones with porcelain wheels on the bottom of the legs , are really old. I have one that was my grandmother’s which actually came from her mother! My grandmother was born in August of 1896. That tells you how old pie crust tables can be. GREAT FIND❤ If it were me, I’d have the top refinished and be very careful of what you put on it. 💕🙏🙏

Heyyy friend, the wax cubes for warmers were a true deal, my fav is cucumber. ❤️ the table. Yes, you can indeed wash feathered pillows on gentle or perm/press. However, to dry, add either clean tennis shoes or clean tennis balls, to fluff up the feathers. My Grandma taught me that years ago, works great🌸🌸

You are a collector, and as a collector you always have to look at the bottom to see what you are purchasing or you would not know the brand. I collect certain things also and I always check to see who the maker is because there are a lot of fake / counterfeit items..

😂🤣arms “ flying in the wind” I have always had really strong and really fit looking arms without trying but now that I’m in my 50s, they are sure flapping ha ha ha. I decided it was time to do something about it, so because I didn’t have any weights I grabbed two cans of green beans from my cupboard and started using those. My husband died laughing when he saw me doing that he said if that is not Okie I don’t know what is I come from a long line of Okies and I’m very proud of it😁 But he was right it really was funny and so for Mother’s Day he got me a little set of weights, which I love, but I liked my cans of green beans too. Ha ha ha.

My daughter is into it wax melts from Walmart and candles, fine fragrance mist, lotions, body wash and soaps from Bath & Body Works. She gave me gifts from there for Mother's Day. I love the metal spatula, blanket for $3.99. The blanket and pillow look nice together.

Frankly, i look at the bottom of things i thrift brcause i like to know if I'm actually getting a good deal. If i see that the thrift store is charging the same price as the new one, then it's not a great deal. But when i see that the thing I'm buying is dirt cheap compared to the new ....i feel better about buying it. Plus, i like to share my thrift haul with my sisters and mom and it's always fun to say "i only paid $5 and it's $40 online new"! 😅

I like when you show the stamp on the bottom I learned the ironstone stamps etc because of you! I like to know what to look for. I’m not a reseller either I just like stuff for my house but I like knowing the stamps too! ❤

We in the far north use dry snow and freezing temps to disinfect and deodorize clothing, pillows etc. The items are buried in the snow for a few days. Woolen coats are sprayed with a light mist of water and fabric softener and hung outside in the winter. A sharp contrast from the south!

I love that you look for the brand/ maker. I'm a collector of vintage dishes so I appreciate it.
Maybe the little crock is for potpourri or a scouing pad/sponge. My mom was 86 when she passed, and she always washed her cast iron skillets in soapy water dish water, and so do i you just need to dry it good. The basket with the handles is so pretty. I absolutely love the picnic basket and the pie table. What a steal for sure! Have a great evening.

I wash my cast iron with soapy water if I fry fish or something like that, otherwise I just use hot water and dry with paper towels. My cast iron is over 50 years old and so seasoned so even after soapy water the water will bead up on it!
I use soap on mine on occasion as well. I always thought the no soap rule was because back in the day they used lye soap. But in any case, I've never had a problem using soap or had any soapy flavor

Loooove the Lodge griddle! I always rinse my lodge pieces & put them in the oven on low temperature to dry them- keeps them “ cured”

I've been married since 1972 and always wash my cast iron. Of course I immediately put it in a warm oven to make sure it is good and dry and then lightly grease it. My parents and both sets of grandparents did the same. My daddy would build a fire and burn off the build-up every few years with his fish camp skillets. I've never needed to burn any of mine and I have lots; even pots and pans and cornbread molds.

Julie, you have found good items. I enjoying watching and getting new ideas for home decor. I retired last fall and now I am working on making the home more country cottage. I live outside of Austin and we are going through the thunder and heavy rains too! Have a great weekend!
You can remove water rings by folding a 100% cotton towel or T-shirt so that you have at least a double layer and then use an iron to go over it. Make sure the steam setting is turned off. Just go back-and-forth a couple times with the iron, then lift your towel and take a look. If it’s still there repeat if the tabletop becomes really hot let it cool down before repeating. Also, make sure you use a smooth cotton piece of material don’t use terry cloth. I have done this many many times, and it really does work.

The wax cubes are for electric warmers or tea lights. The light or heat melt the cubes to give off the scent.
Yes, I’m thinking they may work for candle making too! We might try it.
I@@ThrilledThrifterone you melt down the wax melts, since they are made differently than candles, alot of the volume will evaporate and almost no scent will be left. They are meant for putting in a wax warmer, not recommended for candle making.

Hi Julie! I really love your channel and I watch your girls channels. Your oldest has great meals!! I save my wax melts to melt down to make candles too after I use them! I'm a lifelong thriftier!! Learning to style now..thank you for that! Paid $1 for a McCoy Cookie Jar just like my mom had when I was little..got lost during our many moves with the Marine Corps.. Daddy 🕊️
Wow Julie..there was not one thing there that I would not have loved to take home too. I can not even think of my favorite..but the kids would not get the measuring set...they woukd have tp get my old.😂 I never thought to collect picnic baskets. I have one beautiful one..may habe to get more..that one was perfect. I loved the blanket and how the pillow matched. I waa so surprised at the great prices. I love the other baskets and how thry were made. Five pound weights are good...great deal too. I loved that neautiful floral robe, the beige top, but the Loft top was my favorite. You have some great prices at your thrift stores, ours here in Vancouver Canada are insane. I some this beautiful Blue Mountain Pottery dish with a ruffled edge and they wanted $30. There was two smaller BMP vases about 6 and 9 inches for $20 and $24 😡😡😡😡
Julie, I have down comforters. I have a king size and 2 full-size for my beds. I take them to the laundromat and wash them. They come out perfect, but you do have to make sure they get dry. It’s not at all hard but at least you know that they’re clean. I love watching all the beautiful items you found. Thank you for sharing all the goodies. God bless sweet lady…..🍃💗🍃

🥰picnic basket. That fabric in it is adorable!! Most picnic baskets only has fabric in the bottom or is red or blue checked. The fabric in yours is soooo cute and country chic. It would look so cute propped open with picnic stuff sticking out top , maybe some cloth napkins or linens anything like that it would also look cute with some plants or doilies hanging over the top. Oh my gosh I just love love loved it. I really think you should show that sweet fabric off. That is just my two cents worth I love your style and your home always looks so cute and warm so I know what ever you do will look great😁

I am like you. I want to know what I am buying. Better quality versus cheap is sometimes hard to know if you don't know who made it. Not always the case, but it makes a difference to me. Great bargains. Well done.
I love your videos. But no need to shiw thr price. Everytime the camera focuses it gets blurry and the video gets hard to watch. If you hold your items up where your face is that's perfect. Live all of your haul. Love the way you decorate, too.❤

I LOVE, LOVE watching your videos. Did I say LOVE?! I have a question though. Don’t laugh but I noticed that you have absolutely flawless skin! Either you never go into the sun or you are blessed. Do you do something special? Like you, I’m a mom and a grandmother. I thrift for myself and my family and I’ve found a lot of wonderful gems. Also, I’m a retired kindergarten teacher and if I do say so, my classroom was pretty and inviting because of the things that I thrifted-including creating a full library with the books I thrifted. Those cubes you put in a little dish on the top of a lit container and as they melt the scent will make the house small good. You do not need to do anything to them just use heating vessel below little dish.

I have a complete picnic basket up in my attic, been there for years.

I've always washed my down bed pillows and dried them in the dryer on perm. press heat setting. I go out after an hr. and shake them around to move the down and continue to dry them till they are really dry, and all puffed back up and you can feel they are all dry. The little wood table is beautiful. Cute tops too. Pretty green one and adorable button one.

I had such a nightmare when I washed my down pillows. Almost ruined my washing machine. Took me hours to clean it.
Oh gosh! Another fear of mine.
The cleaners told me they would wash my down quilt in a washer. They said to just make sure completely dry. My Gram used to take feathers out in the old days n hand wash n sat in the sun to dry.

Those are wax melts for the electric wax warmers. You put the little cubes in & they melt. That's all I've used for years. Last longer than candles, cheaper and cleaner.. In my opinion. The packs with 6 cubes are $2.98 at Walmart, that's where i get most of mine. Or Hobby Lobby when they're on sale. Those you have are from Walmart & Hobby Lobby. You can definitely use them to make candles. The orange ones do smell good! I think the little white pot with blue stripe is a grease pot. That's A great idea.. it really would make a pretty candle!I'm not being mean.. but that was kind of a crazy question🥴 we look at labels because we like to know the maker or brand, anybody that collects things does that🤷♀️You don't buy a car and not know the make of it! Also knowing the brand or maker tells you alot about the item my times. Just makes sense to me! I have a pioneer woman set of measuring cups, different colors/designs, but made the exact same way..i think they're pioneer woman too! The thrust store is the perfect place to get the kids real kitchen items for the sand box for sure! Love all my cast iron! Nothing cooks like a cast iron pan! My oval one is a little smaller than that one. Its going to be the cutest night light! Oohhh the table is gorgeous!!❤ and that price is awesome!! ❤ The cardigan is so cute. Girl I take a lightweight jacket or a pull over of some kind With me most everywhere that I'm going. I'm hot natured but some of these places feel like igloos! I couldn't remember for sure but thought mayo could work on your cute table, so I googled "remove rings from wood table top, heloise" and a bunch of options popped up from mayo to toothpaste, olive oil, salt, vinegar, Vaseline.... several sites, including Heloise. Great price on that one!
