Happy New Year. Thanks for spending 5 minutes of it with me and some of our locals.

I've been a lifelong skater since I was 4yrs old. At 34yrs old now, I still remember the feeling of my dad giving me my first board and teaching me the basics as he was a skater in the 70s but was himself a lifelong surfer. Skating has more or less been a constant in my life, whether visually (only seeing things in the physical world as potentially skateable) or physically by skating as much as I can given my life as a father myself now. I've always felt skating keeps you tethered to childhood in the healthiest way possible while utilizing your breadth of life experience and the transmutable attributions of getting older as traceable markers in time. The purity that is skating gets you out of your head and has the benefits of being a solidarity activity or a communal one. Either way, it's a once bitten, forever infected kind of deal. The day my legs no longer work I will still see the world through a skater's eyes and that's a singularly unique and initiated perspective only those who've rolled down a driveway, pumped a bowl, flipped through a magazine or expressed themselves through our vernacular would understand.
    Ted talk over.

      Well said Sir.
I hope your kids fall in love with it as you did.
My kids did not. I wanted to share it with them but they have different paths.
Why are you no longer able to skate?
I hope my little videos are a small supplement keeping you tied to skating. I don't know what I will do when I can no longer skate. Until then I am going to keep pushing it.
Thanks for your words. And stay Rad.

Cool to see all those people whos lives are so impacted by a stupid kids toy with 4 wheels and a bunch of random piles of concrete!!! 🤘

Although different styles, different levels of skill, and different goals there is just a common respect for the journey and the work being out it.

That is a great idea. I have been in contact with my local council over the past few months trying to get a park built over here. My dream is a real street plaza integrated with the surroundings. It is nothing like we have here and I feel would bring people in. They are already building a new park in the centre of town I'm just trying to get them to add a skate area to this park. Failing that I will try and get them to upgrade the skatepark near me. I don't call it my local because I hardly ever go to it and if I do i normally just skate the flat ground.
Anyway, I feel this video could be a good defence for getting the park build. If it is ok with you I would like to send them this way to see what skateparks do for the community.
