I rewatched my video and realized I spoke wrongly about the rear turn signal mounts. The signals actually mount to a rear hoop, which bolts to the frame, where I stated the signals went. Oh well, not the first time I’ve given bad info. 🤣🤣🤣
So satisfying and inspiring to watch you get this bike going. I'm ready to get back out in the garage now. These bikes won't fix themselves. Glad you found that 10mm 😆. Thanks Mike!
🛑🛑 Mike your 10 millimeter wrench is probably hanging out with the 17 millimeter Deep Well Socket somewhere in my garage. 😂💯 You gotta ask yourself… How can I loose something that BIG?😂 I looked for 2 days for that socket, and I still haven’t found it. 💯 I like you methodical process, Mike..one step at a time, proving each item; with each step. 💯 Top Notch!!👍 Looking forward to the coming videos. 😀👍
Regarding the lost 10mm Craftsman wrench, I find the best way to find a missing tool is to purchase a replacement. The “missing” tool will be found within a day or two every single time.
Where are you located? I would like to maybe buy it for my son.... I paid $300 for my used 1977ish Honda XL125 back around 79..lol..it was nearly mint..... traded it for a hang glider soon after and the glider wouldn't be worth nothing now but the bike would be $1800.... market is stupid crazy prices today

Very nice how that engine came around, with the mystery and no history. A real bonus! That was fun, thanks! 🙂👌
The entire bike is cleaning up nicely. 👍🏻

A non running bike doesn’t stand a chance against you! I really enjoy watching you work these things out. 😊👍

HECK .. YEAH SOUNDS GREAT 👍👍
I’m with you on the 10
Nice Job Mike !
Nice project
Thanks Kevin!
Nice bike them mike, very rare over here in the uk, I’ve only known of the sl125 over here
you should try try the inner tube method to try and push the dents out in the tank.
Im 52 and i learned to ride with a clutch on an old xl75. Cant remember what year it was. Belonged to my cousin
I'm 51 I had a blue green xl70 I believe it was a 1974.
My first street legal bike was a 1969 sl90
Stick a 190 in it Mike, you have to scratch that itch sometime!😉
I’m 10+ years ahead of you. I built a couple 190’s around 2013-2015.
10 mm sockets and wrenches is something I can never keep up with
A cool bike
Thanks!
❤
cool bike . I always liked the xl70 more than the sl70
👍🏻
Cool bike! About the rubber foot pegs. Has to be new right? Didn't those XLs come with metal pegs from the factory?
I really don’t know. The pegs on it are identical to the SL70. You’ve got me curious now, I’ll have to look at pics of original bikes.
Let us know what you find when you drop the round 2 video
Looks like this model did come with the rubber pegs.
Rubber pegs on the XL70
@southeastvintagecyclerescue I actually went back and rewatched your video to confirm the rubber pegs.
👍👍😎
13:45 in the video I think you need to clean your points.

I thought the sl175 tail light was the same but it’s not.😢
I’m mounting a CB350 taillight on this one.
do you ship the honda ct70
This isn’t a CT70, but yes, if you make all the arrangements and pay the shipper to pick up at my shop, it will ship.
I THINK THAT WAS A ONE YEAR COLOR ONLY ALSO
The XL70 only came in one color for each of the three models.
74??

Is this or more importantly, the 1976 green xl70 still for sale? Or maybe send my green xl70 down for you to restore? 😂
Both bikes sold to subscriber in upstate NY. Sorry, I don’t restore bikes.
How close are engine and vin numbers usually?
I’m not sure on these bikes. On CT70’s, with 500 is usually a match.
