A lot of people are sleeping on Jade which is surprising to me especially considering literally no one has a cheng besides Simone (and don’t say skye does) bc team USA typically likes to come out strong in the vault rotation
Roberson have a Cheng, but I’m so with you. People are sleeping on Jade and she literally always showed up when it counted the most. She won gold in Tokyo, 2golds and a bronze 2022. And both those preseason looked kind of rough. She knows how to peak and she does it very well, give her some time.
To be fair, Jade has also been sleeping a bit. She didn't do well last nationals and wasn't on the world team... so she is forgotten because of that. Her floor from Tokyo isn't enough to beat Jessica Gordirova (assuming she recovers) with the new rules. Jade's routine is quite static... slow moving, though the tumbeling is amazing. She has improved, and we are counting on her vault to be better than what happened in Tokyo.
@@SandyKH well, Gadirova won’t be at the Olympics. But not sure how that matters. She has a solid Cheng and not many consistently out score her on floor. I think she has an excellent chance of making the team and really the of the front runner for the VT/FX-spot

Kayla and Wong would be more likely ..Dont kill me here , but - Not sure why some people think Gabby is going to make the team just because she has and was all around champ. That doesn't count for anything when it's 10 years later . Im curious to see her at classics.

Leanne is so consistent and top notch and Kayla has come out on top and at her peak. Leanne and Kayla should replace gabby and Shi

But people need to start being realistic about Gabby. She is absolutely not going to make this team. She just isn't ready and doesn't have he difficulty. But she just won't. Maybe Leanne and Jade they just did tie for silver in the all around in the NCAA and just barely missed the top spot!
I think you nailed this team. I really like resting simone on bars like I always thought making her do all 4 events was so unfair and especially bad for her mental going into beam. The one thing I’ll say is I think Gabby is really going to surprise us on floor and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have her compete floor instead of shi and have shi compete vault instead of Gabby

Gabby's floor will have to improve vastly because her Rio routines will be murdered with artistry deductions.
Floor is the last thing I worry about. So many gymnasts are inspired by the two-pass queen Nina Derwael. Gabby doesn't need to go for that route but a low to mid 13 floor is totally alright this quad. Mid to high 14 bars & usable beam in TF are mostly needed.
@@cocoroni1031 yeah but like my thought process is,,, Gabby could medal in AA. With a 16 D score on floor all she needs is a DTY and to hit on beam. Like she will outscore Andrade on bars, and she could outscore her on beam too depending on what she has. If she hits clean like she has in the past it’ll be really close with her sky high difficulty on floor and bars. Like I think if she can score a 14.2 on floor and beam she could easily take silver

I think this an amazing prediction, a lot are underestimating jade, true that she lost her difficulty but she is still better than joscelyn, but I think whoever will do better between Skye and Gabby will finally make the team, the rest I totally agree
jade is only doing college gymnastics and she wasn’t consistent last year… i mean, with suni, simone, gabby and shilese SHE is the obvious choice due to her cheng scoring consistently 14.6-14.8 and believe me, with her full difficulty, even with artistry deductions, she can score 14-14.5 on floor , no one but simone ( in the us)could reach that. would be gold for team and maybe bronze on VT and FX for carey, but we have to see if she’s consistent
I wish the team can have suni, jade, trinity, shilese, leanne and kayla. Of course, i know this is not possible but they are my fav. Just dont put roberson because as much she has a very likeable personality, her form is not.
Ain't no way both Suni and Gabby making the team, I have a feeling they both will fight for the same spot
If Suni can't do her layout full or Nabievas...she ain't cutting it. Gabby E score on a 6.4 will always Trump 6.8 with a bad E score. Suni's bars are rough. The only way it looks good is if everything is connected. If not, her entire routine is blown. She will not medal with Qiu and Nemour far better and more consistent with better lines and less labored skills. Her saving grace is no Russians. Urazova and Vika easily medal.
Im probably stuck in the past but I will always prefer Gabby, Mustafina, and overall the 2012-2016 bar construction, with clean lines, pointed feet,in bars connected to paks etc, instead of Sunisa, NINA ESPECIALLY, with those super hard routine but overall very sloppy sometimes, I used to hate those way back to when Beth tweddle did smtg similar. Nemour is the only one who has been able to bring me to like this style. If I have to choose I’d choose Gabby over sunisa, even tho I fear her style won’t pay off in this quad
@@ariannadesantis9966 i agree with you. We had seen Mustafina and komova trainning difficult skills but they never brought that to the Olympics. They went for perfect execution and stick dismounts over super difficult skills and atrousous form
@@adarshminj2543 point is, their routines actually were (are) super difficult, Inbars are literally one of the hardest things, just not as visually spectacular as a layout jäger 1/2 or a nabieva 1/2. I remember when Alija won London EF a lot of ppl in the comments were questioning how she beat Tweddle, who apparently had an harder routine,well it’s because it wasn’t harder. Sunisa did have beautifully executed performances, I’m not gonna take away that from her, certainly a lot more than Nina’s with her constant flexed feet (due to her height), but the construction of the routine simply gives you way more occasions to look sloppy, cuz there are too many hard skill and connections and it’s easier to break your form, Gabbys is simply cleaner. I hope the new quad will modify the code in order to disvalue these types of routines and revalue the 2010s styles, even just a little bit just to pace the routines.
@@ariannadesantis9966 yeah, TBH suni's or downie's routines are hard to watch, they just fit everything together. Nina and kaylia flex their toes but they look lighter and get plenty of height. In my opinoin the gymnast who has little bit of 2013-2016 composition, powerful releases and scores well in this quad is rebecca andrade. Although i think she was robbed at tokyo games

@@gymnastiq 2012 was competitive, more exciting when you have no clue who's going to get the Gold. Should stay that way.
@@gymnastiq The 2016 was the BEST team. It garnered more medals than the 2012 team and every other Olympic team actually and that is what is most desired. I know some people want to see a close competition for titles but there will be enough of that for Team Silver and Bronze I assure you.

Team prediction Simone Shilese, Kayla, Jocelyn and maybe Skye
Jocelyn is an extremely bad choice. On her best days her scores are lower than many elite gymnasts.
As a mother, my children’s health comes first. Suni who I adore is not healthy with kidney disease. For crying out loud, focus on her health and stay out of the gym.
Gabby is a no for me. She has the worst coach ever.
Shilese does skills that are banned on floor and beam. That needs to stop.

Simone and Shilese are the only ones who most likely will make it. Gabby and Sunisa - possible. Carey - probably not. I'm leaning toward Sky and Joscelyn
Joscelyn only brings a 14.4 max with her Cheng, which is a score they don’t need, and her floor scores lower than shi. There is no need for Josc. Skye would 100% be on the team but time and time again she falls on the event she specializes at worlds
Gabby and Suni have a lot to prove if they want to make the team. Just being a past Champion doesn't mean anything.

@@alannabrown4 Don't get me wrong I love Suni and Gabs but they have been out of competition too long to just throw them on an Olympic team. If they can prove themselves at trials great. Unfortunately the last time Suni And Gabi were doing Olympic level gymnastics was years ago.
This is the ABSOLUTE DREAM TEAM here but aside from Simone and Shilese, everybody else that you have on here is questionable. If Jade is serious about making the US team then she is in because she will definitely be showing up with her Cheng and Amanar and a floor routine that will at least garner her high 13's to 14+ on floor. Suni and Gabby are the two BIGGER IFS for me. If Gabby can come with a Cheng or with an Amanar, high 14s to 15 on bars and decent beam and floor then I think she will make the team and Suni if healthy with her upgraded bars and beam routine, which is only second to Simone, she will make the team. USAG will ONLY leave Suni off if she CLEARLY shows that she is not well in my opinion. I don't think they will want it be said that they left the REIGNING OLYMPIC AA champion home for any other reason than that.
We will be lucky if they choose even one specialist for the team, so this is highly unrealistic. They will probably choose the top 4 AA from Championships and Trials, 1 person specialist that they like, name one more AA and specialist as a traveling alt, At this point Jade is a sometimes VT specialist, (beat by both Joscelyn and Skye at nationals on VT last year), Suni and Gabby are both maybe UB/BB specialists we have yet to confirm in any recent competition. Hate to say it but Suni and Jade are not well liked by USAG and that matters when the selection criteria is so subjective. At best, Suni and Gabby might make it as traveling alts for the media of it.
Where do you get the ABSURD notion that Suni is not well liked by USAG? You have to be blind, dumb, deaf and completely dense to believe that. Suni is ABSOLUTELY loved by the WHOLE gymnastic association because she is viewed by many as the SAVIOR in Tokyo. She has less to do as the REIGNING OLYMPIC AA champion than Gabby the 12 years ago Olympic AA champion.
Your choices leave a lot to the imagination. Both Suní and Gabby are inconsistent with their new skills and have been untested. Gabby has yet to even do any competitions. You got Simone correct and Shilese, but you’ve forgotten a lot gymnasts that are already consistent, such as Kayla DiCello. I’d look at those more than who you’d like to see and be realistic. I love Gabby but I haven’t seen anything from her that would tell me she’s ready for Paris.
She’s going to be at classics and be fr she can easily beat Kayla dicello at her best especially if she brings in her cheng that she’s been training.

I LOVED HER ROUTINE omgggg so beautiful and I LOVED the music selection, I just hated the way it was edited!! If she had just kept a fluid instrumental without the weird breaks and silent parts and the weird ending.

People just overlooking the fact that Jade is throwing perfect chusos in college and just posted a moors training vid that looked extremely solid. Everyone knows she's the queen of good pacing.
I generally agree with the formula of 3 AAers and 1 VT/FX and 1 UB/BB, but also think 4 AAers and an event specialist is possible/probable. I think Simone is obviously a lock if she's healthy, and Shi is as close to secure as you can probably get. I think Gabby has too much to overcome in a very short period of time to make it to the end. There are quite a few possibilities for the potential 3rd or 4th AA spot, and I'm not at all ruling out Suni as that possibility either - we've seen how quickly she can get it together on VT/FX towards crunch time when it matters.
I think Jade's inclusion really depends on what the rest of the team looks like. If she gets on the team, it would be for VT only. Even if she can muster a high 6 D score on FX, she will not score higher than a routine with a high 5 D score. I know the selection committee will probably want her to demonstrate a consistent AA performance at Trials, but if I were her I'd be putting more energy on making sure her Cheng and Amanar are in exceptional form.
Of course, at the end of the day it'll probably come down to who is actually healthy by the end of trials, lol.
Outside of Simone though, Jade has the best floor out of any of the other contenders so I think it would be for VT/FX most likely

Together they have 42 world medals and 14 Olympic medals.
3 AA Olympic Champions and 4/5 are worlds AA medalists
1 vault olympic and worlds champion, and another worlds vault champion.
3 worlds unever bars medalists.
a 4 times world champion and 2 time olympic medalist on beam, with 3 other girls who have also made worlds and olympic finals on beam.
2 Floor Olympic champions, including an 6 times world champion on floor, and also 2 silver medalists on floor as well.
I don't think there's ever been a team so well decorated in the history of the sport. Just the 3 AA Olympic champions alone is extremely impressive.
A DREAM TEAM indeed but I think it will be very difficult for Jade, Suni and Gabby to make this team because of their different situations. Someone no one seems to be paying attention to is Trinity Thomas. I think she has a VERY good chance of making this team. She was at the Winter Cup and performed well enough at that stage for me. If she brings the upgrades that she has been posting of late to the next competition and do them well then I think she will have to be considered. At this stage all we can do is speculate and hope that EVERYONE will be fit and healthy to compete.

Not convinced Gabby or Sunni will make the team. I hope Jade makes the team, and think its possible if she stays healthy. I do think Simone and Shilease will be on that team. The other two spots are up for grabs, as they should be.
This is also my dream team! it will be epic to have 3 all around gold medalist in the same team. Simone and Shilese are locks, but the others no idea ... Suni is unclear because of her kidney condition, Jade is unclear because she has been focusing on collage and we dont know where she is (i wish she took a year off) and Gabby is unclear because we have seen very little from her.
I'd be so happy for 43.9 vault and 44.3 bars rotations! My priority is to stack vault, bars >> stay on beam > floor (Shi, Jade, Simone).

Not likely to medal on floor either with her old routines. Since she was only 75-80% fit at Worlds, I would like to believe she is up to max now and as such would have upgraded beam and floor in particular. I think it is CRUCIAL for her in order to ENSURE her place on the team because every WAG it seems out there is gunning for a spot.

I think this is a great prediction. I know Suni didn’t have a great Winter Cup, but I wouldn’t count her out just because of that. She has shown time and again that she can deliver internationally under pressure. And if she successfully competes that full twisting jaeger + pak + maloney + bhardwaj combo that she recently posted, I think that really raises her chances.
I really hope Gabby is able to deliver as well, because at her best, she is incredible. If she isn’t able to get consistency before trials, however, I see Jordan taking her place.
My prediction is:

Bars: (Simone), Gabby/Jordan, Shilese, Suni

Excuse me but how do you see Gabby making it, considering she wasn’t (wrongfully) invited at camp, and basically we have never seen a full routine nor we have a clear prediction of how they will look like. I hope she makes it cuz she’s my fav, also I strongly support comebacks, but I won’t be delusional, and Gabby is the least plausible to make the team at the moment. U can say u don’t see jade making it based on what we’ve seen, but we can also say that abt Gabby based on the fact she’s still a ghost on the field and she has just a few competitions ahead to show the routines but most importantly the consistency (which would be better to see at camp if ppl would invite her right)

I love Jade but she just not ready and her form will keep her off the team. Even though she has a Chang it’s sloppy and others can do an easier vault and score more. Also Suni is still questionable but of any of the others still working on coming back Suni is the best options…..I just don’t see Suni, Jade, and Gabby only 1 will make the team. I think it will be Suni if any of them…..why she basically fills the same holes as the other. Reason…they fill the same holes. Shilese also fills these gaps. I think Simone and Shilese are for sure on the team unless they have injuries…..the other 3 will be selected to fill the holes.

Jade has been doing extremely well in the NCAA and she did bring home gold in the Swiss Cup.

I'll be surprised to see suni and gabby on the same team, jade also seems far fetched with her fx scores. More likely a simone, shi, kayla, joscelyn or skye, and either suni or gabby or leanne.
Why Joselyn over jade?
@@gymnastiq In the past year or so she's scored higher on vault, floor, and beam than Jade. Even Skye beat her at championships last year on VT. I would love for Jade to be the obvious non-Simone vaulter, but she's not. And her floor scores are worse than almost anyone else in consideration for the team (Simone, Shi, Kayla, Leanne, Jordan, Joscelyn, etc). So bring her for a sometimes 0.05 better single vault score than Joscelyn? Nope. If she got international competitions that didn't destroy her on floor execution it might be possible, but she hasn't this year and won't before trials, so they won't chance it even if she brings back full difficulty there. I could see multiple people other than Jade since she's only bringing a usable single vault score to the team competition. Joscelyn isn't fully back since her injury, so she might be out too.
@@absurdhominid4669 Makes sense I was thinking about it but joscelyn is injured and if you watch jade in college her floor has vastly improved in terms of artistry. Joscelyn only scored 14.4 with her cheng at last years worlds and her dty only scored a 13.633… and that was with her not injured. Jade can score 14.7 with her cheng and she has an amanar that she can pull out. We know she likes to save her best for when it matters and she proved that at the Tokyo Olympic Games. She is the 2022 world vault champion, and joscelyn didn’t even qualify for the floor final last year with shilese out scoring her and her only getting a 13.633… and Jades watered down floor routine scored 14.166 in 2022.
