I'm using a Carrera bat. The owner gave me a few last off-season. I haven't used them in a game but used it a little in the off-season. They do feel pretty hard. As far as damaging the finish I don't think it should. Sometimes it marks the bat up a little bit, but I don't think it is anything major. Thanks and thanks for watching!
Couple questions: First off, what brand bat are you holding in the video? Second, is boning a bat going to damage the finish or clear coat if you try to bone a bat with that stuff on it? Excellent job, as usual, Matt!
Shows what kind of bat you like to play with. Before you get your underwear all in a twist I mean you play with an aluminum bat s and not a wooden bats. I am past 2 score and Ten and on the little league and legion teams I played on a lot of use still used wooden bats and we all "boned our bats" although I of all the teams I played on did only have an actual bone and the coach told us it was a old buffalo bone he had found out West somewhere. Another team I played on the coach had a couple of pieces of Elk hone for us to use and the last team I played on the coach had this big blog of glass he got from somewhere and a piece of a urinal that to me was the easiest to use and worked the best.
A lot of (if not all) Marucci's are bone rubbed and say it on the bat. I have 5 Marucci's and all say bone rubbed on them. They are definitely harder dense bats and don't seem to flake or splinter at all
if the ball team has been in existence for a good while and has a knowledgeable clubhouse manager, the bone is already mounted on a stand. The thigh bone from a heifer/bull or a good sized pig was what I was taught to be the best to use. you should never have to sand the barrel back into shape of you are doing it correctly.

Yeah I've never swung a Marucci in a game before but a lot of my teammates swing them and they do feel pretty hard. Thanks for the comment!

I may give them a try
Awesome! Good luck!
Can you use a bone from a New York Steak? Or a turkey bone?
Cool thanks!
You ought to try out Marucci's next season and use em in a game
They steel press some wood bats too, u ever seen guys use a smooth piece of medal!? How hard do i press it?
I was wondering if this wood, sorry dad joke, work for a wooden softball bat as well? Our 30 nd over men's league is wood bats only.
I have been boning my maple bats the cheaper one I13 seems to help
Awesome!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
What bat company are you sporting there?
+Simon Gomez It was a Carrera bat. I tried one a few years ago.

There are these huge oversized beef bones for dogs that they sell in the grocery story I guard. Would that work?
You can use your toilet
"I boned it so it wouldn't chip"
so you can use a bat roller on a wood bat?
Easton Pro AE16 andre ethier made from allegheny ash. I'm from nova scotia, NS Pride
I don't believe you can use a bat roller on a wood bat but I've never used one before.
Where do u get the bone
+Noah police Sometimes tough to find...you can literally use anything that is really hard

Tough...to show on camera, ...especially when you aren't holding the camera, ...
The best bats come from ash that has been struck by lightning.
Savoy special and wonderboy
Now I know why Muay Thai dudes do this to their shins
You can just buy bats boned
Yes now you can. Back a few years ago it was tougher. Thanks for watching!!
I am sure that you will find good way to make it on woodprix Webpage.
Who does a video about boning .....forgets to have the actual bone available for the demonstration .......smh
Mike West I didn’t have one
Aren't you supposed to "roll" the bone on the barrel of the bat rather then just slide it up and down?
We would just slide it up and down to compress the wood
The older folks would roll the bone up and down using most of their body weight to compress the wood. @@AntonelliBaseball
It does absolutely nothing !!!!!
