I spent years of my childhood trolling these very areas as a lad, growing up on pike creek. You picked out some of the exact places I remember so well.
Awesome video Ivo! Very informative. I really enjoy watching your catfishing videos because I fish the same areas that you do and you guys catch monsters. I was just wondering what your spinning setup is for those big spring catfish. Thanks
Ivo Do you know where I can buy a map like that for the western basin of Lake Erie. I have L St. Clair. The fishing hot spot series, but cant find Erie. Thanks Bill Whittington
The map company “Fishing Hot Spots” definitely had an excellent map of Lake St. Clair. This is not surprising, as the company is located in Wisconsin. I just wish their other fishing maps had the same kind of specific detail. I checked on a few of their other maps, and they aren’t even close. Disappointing. They obviously took the time to map out in detail their home lakes, but not so much with lakes not in their area. They needed to carefully map all the lakes they offer maps for. I would have purchased one if it was like the Lake St. Clair map. But no.
this is all good for boat owning fishermen but for shore fishing its a whole new ball game trying to find spots where you can park and fish for free, seems every lake or river are surrounded by private land or marinas, and you cant even park close to the water near lake simcoe where they charge you heavy fine ,you either need to pay or be a marina or club member or land owner ,its really becoming a disgusting fascist municipality over there and a challenge and mission planing out each trip or trying to scout areas on the map and btw i use google map, i have no idea how my father used to do without it and by looking at non descriptive paper maps lol but online maps are a real freind as they show me what is around the spot and if there are businesses what there schedual is like etc
As Mariners we do not use the term map. Maps are for land and roads charts are for all nautical terms. I understand your viewers are recreational boaters however you should stick to nautical terms.

Great video Ivo! I am very interested in where I can find a map like that, as it appears to be very useful for anglers!

You, sir, are a legend! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I’ve wanted to learn map reading for years and you have taught us well.
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks you. That was really helpful. Where do you find maps like you have. I'm a tactile person. I find it fun to do what you just did.
Thanks Ivo! That video helped me a lot. That is probably the hardest part about fishing, is finding the fish. Especially on new bodies of water.
