Usally, you need high jump for this section. But with a "spikesuit" the runner is able to skip this and get gravity-suit very early which obseletes many of the later challenges.
so the dead body under the elevator in red brinstar entrance is from another hack that has like, little research/history bits , and I can't find the video of that hack

This is one of many exceptional Super Metroid hacks, although this one is very hard and is designed around advanced techniques. The fellow who made this has made two other hacks, Eris and Vitality. Vitality is comparable to the original Super Metroid in terms of challenge, Eris is hard but somewhere in between this hack and Vitality. Do yourself a favour and play Vitality. There's even a randomizer that combines A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. It's pretty incredible what people have made.

Great version Dmantra. Taught me diagonal bomb jumps from walljump and that blue suit from speedball. Do you know how that shinespark is charged underwater for the high jump sequence break?
This Hack created Death itself! Very difficult this metroid. The Wonderful game but please create a version of it for the simple mortals to play. Another thing! The samus could be more beautiful as super metroid Exertion.
I kill myself trying to make wall Jump and I can not! There has to be an easier way to run wall jump. I train myself and I still have not got the fucking way to do it! Hacks! Help!

Redux is much, much better. Original didn't have savestations, and I was an inexperienced hacker at the time. This is the definitive version.
