The German cars are alot cheaper over here tho we don't really need things like the outback and forester when the road tax is so expensive you could get a full size 4x4 and the impetza isn't as good as the golf r or Honda civic or seat leon cupra in terms of spec and to buy these sort of cars you can't be working at McDonald's.
They aren’t making exciting normal models anymore, you can’t get a fun non-sti/wrx anymore. You used to be able to get a 2.0 NA AWD Impreza and legacy with a manual box that we’re great to drive. And the legacy spec B with the 3.0 was a monster! Now they are all diesel and CVT and ugly as hell.
I have the 06 Forester XT Auto, only one previous owner - "Prodrive" 👍 It's embarrassingly fast (for the opposition) and a true sleeper with the dog guard in the back and tow bar off the rear 🤣

David Kennedy Yes it did: much more kick on power rpm. 2.0 Is still a great choice and much more reliable. Stock 2.0 and 2.5 engines will get similiar performance when remapped - 2.5 liter engine seems to have lower safety factor and cant take much power increase. Ive got 2005 forester 2.0 xt, 260 HP 400 Nm after remap. its incredibly fast and with susspension mods it feels like a sports car

Have an 04 Forester XT. Was teying to buy a Legacy but this popped up javing been owned by Victoria Wood for over a decade and I had a daft moment. I'm a Saab guy and have a classic 900t16s among others, including a 9-5 aero. The aero is comfortable, fast but has the personality of Ten Hag. The Forester is a blast to drive, hugely capable in the snow we het once a decade and has the personality of Brian Clough after a keban and six beers; Love the car. Also like the fact that it's sligjtly ugly, in an Adam Driver kinda way.
Well.. I think Colin Mcrae was the first one to make people aware that the Impreza existed, and Petter Solberg was one of the people later on that kept Subaru going. Especially with that WRC win in 2003. But i do know for a fact that he popularized the Impreza in Norway. We are really proud to have a norwegian WRC winner.
The engines on the version 9 STI's are not reliable .How many engine rebuilds has the average STI 9 owner had? No doubt there will be some people who will say it's down to maintenance and they have had no engine rebuilds

@Mathieu Morin People don't change the oil coolers after an engine re build that causes all the metal from the previous engine failure to mess up the new anyone that's another reason people forget. And switching from maf based tuning to map also helps As does improving the oiling
Probably MY06 till late MY07. However it is possible to get a MY05 too already with the facelift (I got one, 11/2005) but some of internal equipment still from the pre-facelift models. MY08 is also mixed and you can get both Forester SG's and SH's
Second generation SG model. Produced from 2002 - 2007. Before they went all crossover-SUVish. My neighbour has one, while I have a 3rd generation SH model.
The 2005-2008 Forester XT was such a great looking car. Now, the Forester is just another boring crossover.
