I still recall the bitter cold, us lined up, all down the side of the venue. Richard’s exasperation that the backing track for ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ was playing up, again, that night - as it habitually did - and how band and crowd simply became one, during ‘Lucky Man’, towards the end of the night. I drew my finger, across my ticket from that night, before I then typed this post. Purely by chance, it’ll be twenty-four years *to the day* since the night of the gig, two days after my post. I couldn’t give a stuff about material wealth. My scrapbooks of gig and theatre tickets are wealth beyond measure. Greetings to all, from Hertfordshire.
Richard Ashcroft and his band 'The Verve' - Urban Hymns..... Ahhhh I remember this albums 23 years ago and feels like yesterday when I bought that album. His unbelievably unique voice in combination with the melanolic interplay with the band. Songs that can be played on the radio even to this day. His later solo work was also simply phenomenal. A genius as a musician and I hope we can enjoy him for years to come.

I absolutely love the original song off his debut solo album, "Alone With Everybody" but, this version off, Acoustic Hymns ft. Liam is f***in' great !! There voices go so well together & Liam adds something extra to an already fantastic song... Well done lads, great move !!
