- I'm a big fan of the original KDS9C but now with the upgrades, including a Pic Rail, Ambi Safeties, Night Sights and improved optics plate, this is taking it to a new level. Thanks to Kimber for Partnering with us and sending the KDS9C Rail Model for the review. @Kimberamerica
Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! @FiocchiUSA

Cool gun Sootch, the last 10 years are being very innovative on the gun industry, even with all these attacks against your gun rights, just remember my American friend, never surrender, cheers from Brazil, i hope that someday we met each other in person.
Good for Kimber
BOYCOTT EVERYTHING NEW YORK!
Its nice to see Kimber making a comeback after the catastrophes of the last few years
But they aren't making a comeback. I work in a gun store and we don't sell new ones and we do not like to take used ones in on trade as they are almost impossible to move. People simply don't want them and after they get their first one it's usually their last.
I wouldn’t call it a comeback until this gun survives a 1000 rd burn down test. Kimber’s 1911’s have a bad reputation for quality. Their mountain rifles are nice though.
@@DBONE117 You speak the truth. I bought a Kimber 45ACP carry version years ago, paid an awful lot of money for it, honestly don't remember the actual price. It was very pretty, walnut grips and came in a rosewood case. That thing stove piped every 4 or 5 rounds, and ejected shell casings into your face and forehead. Had 2 gunsmiths work on it with no improvement. Finally sold that POS and swore I'd never own another one.
@@petervoyt24 this was essentially my experience with the solo and the Evo. It really doesn't matter what platform it is they don't seem to be able to make it properly. I have noticed the same issue with sig Sauer and ironically enough the same CEO who came into Kimber and then into sig I believe is responsible for the destruction of both companies reputations. I'm not the only one.
@@erroneous6947 I 100% disagree with your claim they have bad QA. I own 3 now and they all run and run and run. I have zero problem putting money on a Kimber or betting my life on one since the KDS9C is currently my carry gun.
I appreciate these upgrades as they cater to both tactical and practical needs.
I really like the kds9c with the rail but I can’t justify the price increase over the original. They added an ambi safety, rail, night sights, and higher capacity mag and charged like $600 more. I’d probably be in for one if it was only $200 more than the original. Good gun non the less.
400 more, but yes, more.
The grip shape looks like the Beretta M9 , the Black model is VERY BEAUTIFUL I like the one piece frame more than the polymer type.
It's very nice looking and I would probably pick it over a 2011 style pistol. Given that it is a cocked and locked 9mm pistol, I don't see why I would pick it over any number of models of CZ for less than half the money. I could afford to upgrade most with Cajun Gun Works parts and still be way ahead of the game price wise.
Our Kimber rep brought along a Black/Gray example for a bit of show and tell; a very sweet looker.
Why did I begin drooling as soon as I saw this pistol? 🤪
Same here, until I saw the price. 😒
@garywboisseau Yeah, a bit steep. Don't think I'll buy one but it is a good looking pistol.
@@tntshuffle-9799 I would love to have one. I love Kimber, and I love that they have moved to a gun friendly part of the nation. New York is about to lose all of their commercial tax base, because of their collective anti 2A attitude. We shall see how well that works out for them. Anyway, if this Kimber was a grand or a bit less, I'd find a way. It is an absolutely beautiful handgun.
Great gun ❤Thank you for your introduction 👍
That's a beautiful piece right there 👍👍
Sweet looking 1911 will be this year Christmas present
Awesome out of the box gun.
Good review thanks.
Great video nice kimber 1911 9mm gun thanks for sharing sootch00
Great show about a great gun. I’m sold
Great vidio, thanks, love my Kimber pistols.
Beautiful gun and not a bad price!
Nice piece, N/A in Calizuela!
Already have had my Wilson Combat SFX9 for some time now. This Kimber has a nice look.
I wish Kimber made this new edition with the rail and ambidextrous Safety in the Stainless.
I would love to see that Railed Frame with the Stainless Slide.
I picked up one of the original versions as soon as they came out and it’s been my EDC ever since then. Very accurate too.
Beautiful looking pistol.
Mine had 1 FTF on the 3rd mag.And finish isn’t durable
Lots of finish ware on frame and slide after 100 rounds
100 rounds that's terrible to have wear that soon. I would send it back.
had many FTFeed issues and yes,I’m sending back.very disappointed
Thanks for the in depth review and info @sootch00
I have it. I love it I think I was the first person in Florida to get one
OHHH WEE! Dat gun look good.
I am not the biggest fan of Double stack 1911's However after seeing what Kimber has produce I am having a change of heart.
Nice looking Kimber but, sense you scratch it sounds like that would be a great give away at tonights live!! Love the limbers, good review Sootch.
Wat!?
Mine is going back to Kimber. Had nothing but feed problems since day one.
I really wish you would do a comparison with this, the tisas ds1911 in 4.25", and the springfield prodigy in 4.25"
And the bull armory in 425
Grip angle looks great, like a hk or beretta m9. Still not on board with kimber yet. Heard and seen too many fussy guns by them.
They just made a pistol closer to a Browning high power but with a few more nice details.
If I had longer fingers to reach the trigger without rotating my grip so that the barrel axis is no longer in line with the bones of my lower arm I would love it. As it is I have the thinnest aluminum grip panel I can find on my 1911's so that trigger reach is not problematic for my recoil control. Fat grips not good for short fingers.
💪I love Kimber's
K i m b e r s
Nice looking 1911, but I won't be impressed until I start seeing reputable 1911 companies make double stack .45ACP with 14 rounds minimum damn it.
I've been trying to decide between this black version or the two tone gray/black.
Very interesting
First time I broke down a 1911, I got myself an "idiot scratch".
Bro, did the same thing on the first breakdown of my 10mm Rapide! I just didn't know 😥
@@BartoniusAustinius Oh man, mine was on my 45 Rapide! I almost cried.
I was very indifferent when I saw it. But at Shotshow I shot it and fell in love with it. But I bought the prodigy instead. Plenty good enough for me.
If $$ was zero consideration, which one of the two would you pick?
What's up Unk!!?? I'm like damn if Smith and Wesson don't come out with something similar to this I might have to go with Kimber likely guys like my grandfather's law enforcement days.
Pls rewrite in English

KImber $1300. S & W 5906 $400. The 20-round mag for the 5906 is the same price as the Kimber 18 round mag. for $1000 I can live without a rail.
I don't like how the frame finish is already wearing away after just mounting a light for reviews.
I really love the looks of this, but i just dont trust Kimbers QC. Are the internals MIM ?
I like the newer rail version! Why didn't they build it this way in the first place?
Good looking gun for collectors, not for edc thought.
Just like I use work boots for work instead of the fancy shoes for special occasions I wouldn't use this gun for Edc.
let's be honest, with CNC machining, that barrel isn't that more complicated than a normal bull barrel. Decades ago, yeah, that would be impressive and expensive, but today, not so much. As to the pistol, it's a nice pistol, the grip bob and and capacity with a rail, and ambi controls... the prices on the street isn't too bad.
If I may ask what ear protection do you use?
Very good looking gun. I just personally don’t like 9mm 1911 style guns. If I’m going to something that big and heavy give me a more capable caliber.
I agree.
Try mc2c mossemberg and tell us what you think?
not sure if you mentioned it, but how does it compare to a staccato?
how does it compare to the Springfield Emissary 9 mm commander
A large handgun, 7.75 inches long and 29.6 oz. with the 15 round and 30.3 ounces with the 18 round mag and currently on line costs $1,730.99! Would like to see a comparison of this with the Smith & Wesson Equalizer, which has 1911 features, but the single action hammer is internal and this handgun costs $499.00l
I owned a 1911 Spring Field Armory for years. It was in 45 Cal. Will Kimber be coming out with a 45cal Double Stack?
Hey, (Off topic) I just noticed this while listing on headphones but why is your on camera voice over at the beginning mono?
User error
I'd rather have a ported barrel than a fluted one.
Nice side arm
Very cool gun very nice so dat gun can shoot 9mm major all the time???
Can we have it with a grip safety?
Kimber resale value plummets faster than a BMW. We can't move used ones out of the store and we don't like to take them in. The QC is shoddy at best.
Their mountain rifles are good. But Their pistols are garbage imo. Unless you go back 15-20 yrs.
Where are you located
What was the song used in the intro?
It will melt in your hand along with your bank account 😂
I want one!
Not confident in Kimbers 1911’s currently. Their mountain rifles are awesome though.
How come? JW bc just purchased a non rail due to huge savings
Why don’t they have a silver version with rail?
Just can't bring myself to buy another Kimber!
Agreed. Quality is horrible. At least their 1911’s. Their mountain rifles are good.
Yonkers NY to Troy Alabama ❓ talk about friendly?
Kimber should've moved to New Hampshire, Sig Sauer territory. Very gun friendly with educated work force ⚖️🗽☮️🇺🇲✌️
I just bought a SIG SAUER P226 Elite for $300+ less, with DA/SA.
full length slide rails. I love it but should I decide to sell it, It has fantastic resale value. Live Free or Die 💥✌️
Beauty, what a toy
Right side thumb safety looks very slim. Probably on the camera probably not.
How many malfunctions did you have?
Well, it’s a Kimber, so more than zero lol
@@Eddie_Munster as far as I can tell he doesn't give these stats which I think is.... Not good
@@jacobdeem8187 these are just commercials. That’s what sootch does
Probably zero this gun is very reliable
Sootch makes great videos but everything is a commercial. It’s all praise all the time to sell product.
No palm safety?
just so you know your voiceover is only coming through on the left channel
Looks like an IWI Jericho
Not a kimber fan, for quality and price go Sig legion P226
How much is the wrong optics plate if the right one is 79.99?
I've got the stainless original model. Great shooting gun. Would like an ambitious safety, don't need a rail, but those two changes do NOT warrant a $500 msrp change. Kimbet on crack....and I hate a $99 plate for optics. Should be on the gun....
Nice looking safe queens. It's like putting Mag Wheels on a Model T. Enough with the 9mm 1911s.
Great looking gun, too much for a safe queen 9mm
It is same size as a p226 and .5 inch shorter than glock 17. I.e. full size pistol
I own the first Gen KDS9c and the grip panels are virtually useless. Other than that, the gun is outstanding.
Pretty funny comparing a crap Kimber to a Wilson Combat. To each their own though.
Just depends, with Kimber, you have a 50% chance of a lemon. But, if you luck out like me, it is an amazing pistol
👍👍👍
Mr. Scotch, would you tell me what is that tactical watch you're wearing'? ' been your long- time fan here, seen it a lot of times in our vids, thank you Sir, -Jerome T. from Islands Philippines.
Who exactly are you ?? 😊
I honestly believe no modern pistol should come without a rail. Or an optics mounting system. This is 2024, people want the option to add lights and optics. When pistols are released without those options it makes no sense. "well, we were going to...." is not an excuse. It's a "we're old and out of touch with the market" statement. I get it if you are making a nostalgic throwback pistol, but this is a 2011 compact carry combat pistol.
More to the point - the railed model shouldn't come at a 400 dollar premium. Seriously, what the hell? Even if I thought the pistol was worth the 1300 price point, bumping that 400 for what should be a standard feature? Go home Kimber, you're drunk.
@@cavalieroutdoors6036My thoughts exactly.
I disagree. Rails make holster selection harder and optics on a point-blank, mag-dump weapon are kinda dumb imo.
@@idontcare-ct7jm Right, and options should be OPTIONAL. Nothing is free; _everything_ on _every_ product is paid for by customers. The difference is whether each customer pays for his own choices, or subsidizes someone else's.
@@idontcare-ct7jm If a holster manufacturer isn't making holsters to accommodate rails and optics they deserve to go out of business. And I like both on my carry pistols.
I’m sorry I think I will stick with the bull for the price I don’t know the bull is just better comes with plates and I have never had the best of luck with kimber seem to jamb were others don’t my son has had good luck
‼️LOTS OF💰💰💰💰💰💰💰‼️
Great Video - 1911 = .45 ACP or nothing...
But of course, the quality depends on the method, especially the opinion of the shooter himself, who is an expert in firearms, is very important for someone who should pay close attention to the opinion of this expert and shooting before buying.
UPDATE,many failure to feed issues! Very disappointing for 2k dollar pistol.Sending back!
Wish me luck!
Looks like a beautiful gun but it’s out of my price range that’s the sad part
🗡🦅🔥🔥🔥🦅🗡
Sooooo beautiful. Too bad its a Kimber😢
That what I'm talkin bout. WTF, ALL 😁😈💯💥🤟♨🧿🔨🏁1911's should be double stack!!!!
Beautiful Pistol but to pricey for me
Love the look of the Kimber but to add a "C" to the name is a joke.
I'm sure it's fine personally I don't care for picatinny rails on my pistoles
No sound
Quite the bargain at $1300 😂
