I didn't know you could skip the first level of the original Donkey Kong, especially so easily!
"You have endeavored hard to become the new League Champion."
Me having just left my home's front door two seconds ago for the first time: "I sure did."
BD SP sped runners: I only left bed 1 second ago and I’m the champion
1:31 take in mind that, this only, ONLY works on Red Bokoblins
The glitch is called Surf Shield Bounce glitch (I could be wrong, but it goes through those lines)
Never heard it called that before. Most, if not every speedrunner I've seen mentioned it as Bullet-Time-Bounce. Well, when a lot of people used to speedrun it like crazy back then.
Also side note, it will still work on every other enemy, just that you have to freeze them first before you do it. Otherwise red enemies, mostly Bokoblins and Moblins if I recall, can be done without that.
Bullet-Time Bounce (BTB)
Close though!
Did you know? You can actually get Ho-oh or Lugia twice in HGSS, all on one file! In New Bark Town, there is a tweak you can do to get to Kanto, but you have to perform a second tweak to skip the waterfall blocking access to Kanto. For some reason, the game assumes you have all 8 badges, and you can head to the Pokemon League. I tested this out after the 7th gym, and the guard just lets you through. 😅
If you beat the game without catching the legendary, it will clone the legendary because you never did the original catch before the league!
If you didn’t catch it then how does it give you 2
congrats on 10 years of being on yt ive been here since day 1 watching your boss rush videos and i will stay long past when you reach the 10 yr quest of 1 million subs
I like how the BLJ is called “Ol’Reliable.”
@JohnThinagoogleSoils my brother in christ what do you think BLJ stands for
I lol'd. "La vieja confiable" sure goes beyond its meaning.
I like how the BLJ is called a term I first heard in "Lady and the Tramp", an old Disney movie from a long time ago. Whoever runs Nintendo Unity is a person of culture. ^^
@@Alexs23743 BLJ is jsut how everyone calls it, it's been decades since it was named
oot: does a complicated setup with fairly precise timing and then has to manuever the guy out of bounds
pokemon yellow: exits while saving
Bro failboat be taking notes on the best way to kill whispy

@Kleric explains it better.
This is a Bullet-Time Bounce.
It happens when link Shield Surfs onto an enemy during Bullet Time and , as he is landing on them, force the enemy into a rag doll. The change in the enemies’ state is the interaction that launches Link. Red Bokoblins can be ragdolled simply by shield surfing onto them, any other ragdoll-able enemy needs to either be shield surfed on when frozen, or shield surfed on and then headshot with an arrow to get the launch.
I was literally playing Mario 64 when I saw the BLJ on here.
LOL i cant seem to master it, but then again, i only do it once in a blue moon, with very minimal guides, i just kinda did it LOL
In the video intro it's called old reliable
2:03 you can do something similar in the arcade JP set 3 version. This time you need to climb up the ladder and immediately jump down. It's a bit trickier but also around 3x as fast.
2:25: "BWUH!?! I don't remember Mario being able to do that! Must be gettin' senile in my old age..." -Cranky Kong
You can break Donkey Kong 64 just by breathing on it. ^^
When I did the backwards jump on SM64 Render 96 3DS I was overly excited, tho lots of people have done thins before.
4:17 it’s like Level Up how Mario does the “yahoo yahoo y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-yahoo” because in one of the mazes at some point he says the same thing
Watching Summoning Salt Indeed knew about most of these after getting into speedrunning
Wow these are some interesting glitches
The backwards longjump needs to be a proper mechanic in a future game.
I wonder if there’s any glitches in the Star Fox games. I wouldn’t hurt to try and see, right?
The only glitch in a Star Fox game I remember happening to me is found in Star Fox 64, where after defeating Star Wolf on Venom, Fox heads toward the entrance of Andross's lair, but instead of entering, he just flies around and around endlessly, the game basically crashes, and you're forced to start it all over again. It's something that rarely happens, and I think it depends on your position after the fight.
@@chalexgamer3947 I've actually had that happen to me once.
6:59 I guess this is why Pokémon games tell you not to turn off your device when you save.
Games:
Metroid (1986 - NES)
Pokémon Diamond/Pearl (2008 - Nintendo DS)
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017 - Wii U, Nintendo Switch)
Donkey Kong (1983 - NES)
Mario Kart: Super Circuit (2001 - Game Boy Advance)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998 - Nintendo 64/2011 - Nintendo 3DS)
Super Mario 64 (1996 - Nintendo 64)
Kirby and the Forgotten Land (2022 - Nintendo Switch)
Donkey Kong 64 (1999 - Nintendo 64)
Pokémon Yellow (1999 - Game Boy Color)
I am going to try that glitch.
Lol I know all of these except the tile Pokémon one and kirb forgotten land
Kirby >>
Does speedrunning have a signature noise?
Yes, it's "Y-Y-YY-Y-Y-Y-Y--Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y--Y-Y-YY-Y-Y-Y--YY--YAHOO!"
Ayo why this video 9:11 long
Are we going to look at some 2001 glitches?
I used some youtube videos to learn how to use ACE to get a shiny Mew in red version (virtual console), and change its OT and ID so pokemon bank would let me transfer it.
If it wasn't for how broken the coding is this never would've been possible.
I think these games are cracked wide open. And in OoT's case, this game has been reprogrammed.
The Kirby one

The fact these even exist makes Nintendo look bad IMHO. Plus he showed another Mario 64 bug I’ve never seen…
So are we gonna ignore the undertale punch cards for skipping many cutscenes? Undertale is in nintendo so....
But it's not a Nintendo IP, so it doesn't count.
I think it’s Nintendo exclusives only
By the same logic we should include The Witcher 3, Doom and games like that...
Watching Summoning Salt Indeed knew about most of these after getting into speedrunning
