My friend, it's been so long since I could play "GTTS" (Guess The Train Speed) that I was an embarrassing 10mph off when that train first was clocked. I thought 25 when it actually was 35. They got 'er rolling along pretty well - 41mph. Many thanks for dusting off the radar unit and using it again!! That barge maneuver was awesome! The Captain made it look like it was as easy as turning a motor vehicle, but trust me, (I don't know how much nautical experience you have), barge handling is a challenge beyond compare for thousands of reasons. "Boldly go forward with God and amazing things will happen"
Those trains are looking for a speedin ticket 😄🚂 Your acreage is so green and lush . Makes for a peaceful evening sipping mint juleps on the front porch . I'm jealous . Great shots of those trains moving a mess of freight ! Thanks again to " our reporter on the beat . " ☺️🚂
Vet brothers we are. The Milw was in our backyard and often sat there so we used to get train orders from the guys in the caboose. Lots of memories. Do you watch Jason Asselin. He post train videos of the ELS. They run the old Milw line from GB to Channing in the UP of Michigan
Great bunch of trains. I didn't think that train was going above 35 when you first timed it. Lack of depth perception I guess. Great catch with the barge. Right place at the right time. Thanks for sharing. 👍
The Ironton Tanks football team had a difficult season after the Steelton Anti-Tank Missiles football team entered the league. Progress? It's always sumthin', right? No matter where you go... there you are. It's alway in the last place you look... when you find it. Ok... I'm finished. But, great look at fast trains, Señor Jaws. RT sends, envía, Puebla, México...
Hey jaw tooth cool trains. Happy father's day to you and all dad's everywhere. I had a DT&I Lionel orange swither as a kid. Cool flood wall. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
Must be intermodel day! They were booking too! One of my favorites. Beautiful land. I'm glad they're are still people that respect the land. Then you have bill gates buying up farmland why i don't know but it's smells bad to me. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
My goal is to keep the land in farming. When I was a little kid my dream was to live on a farm. I used to always try to talk dad into buying land lol. Farms near me are starting to be gobbled up by development and also solar farms. We don't have zoning in this area and there are gigantic farm fields being over taken by solar panels. Anyway, thanks for your support Mark! I really appreciate it! I just filled the gas tank on my truck for a long drive to Cass West Virginia. I'm getting up about 3am and driving to Cass for the Parade Of Steam tomorrow. Thanks for your support!
I have never seen a barge turn around like the one you caught! That captain must have nerves of steel! I have spent many hours on the Columbia River, and have seen many barges. Never have I seen one turn around! Too cool!!
Mmmm.......double DPUs......... Not much revenue with all of the empty wells though. And a toot salute for you too! I like watching barges as much as trains. Awesome as usual, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!
As always there are a lot of great trains going through Ohio with DPU's, awesome crossings, live action pets, slide shows of the trains and thanks again Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
A short distance from where you were is railroad street. About 2 blocks of former DT&I trackage is preserved in the street with a small stone monument noting the southern terminus of the line. The train crews tried to comply with the traffic lights on the street trackage. Abandoned June 1982.
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in Ironton, Ohio, I like them, they're awesome, I already uploaded the video of mine, that has the CSX B646 with CSX, NS, and KCS locomotive, both short and long video, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much and have a wonderful week.
Those were all fabulous trains, JT! They were all very long or very short. There were none I'd consider normal length, but as I said, they were all good! I thank you very much JT, for the excellent trains and change of scenery. The barges were awesome, too! 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good Friday morning JT & everyone! Ironton what a cool place, everything going on, double dpu's fast trains horn salutes, wave from the engineer & barges! Visit again JT! ❤😊👍
That's really Nice, Ohio River, Pretty Neat. Wasn't their a Song called By the Banks of The Old Ohio and if so by I think our own Olivia Newton John (RIP), This is Great, one loco up front with DPU's as well, haven't seen just a single Loco up front to many times. Thanks. An Excellent Video. Respectfully.
Jaw Tooth, I bought my place in N. E. Alabama in August 93 for $52,000 and 44+ acres of land. I am going out right now to do some bushogging before it gets to HOT.
Howdy JT! Wow those were some long intermodals. I've seen an increase in the frequency of intermodals on the CSX line here in NW Ohio. Maybe because the Baltimore port is back up and running? Just think of the torque those river tugs have to spin barges around like that... impressive! Thanks for sharing 🤠
Very cool, it seems like we have seen more of them also. I got a few more yesterday. Until recently I hadn't seen an intermodal with DPUs. Most of the intermodals around Cincinnati are not really that long. The ones that go on the NS New Castle Sub are just medium length
Happy early Fathers day JT I am unfortunately not a Father awesome video moved to Taylor Mich in 1958 we had a railroad cross Pelham Rd and go West about an quarter mile in back of our house the Detroit Toledo and Ironton they have big concrete arches in that area were Henry Ford was going to electrify the railroad.
How many times have we seen two middle DPUs in the last five years, two or three? How cool was that? Good trains and DPUs! So how big are the bluegill in your pond? They have to be there. Probably a few resident bass, too. I bet it has an old, stable population. The farm is nice, JT. You're in a good part of the country if the "global shakers" will keep their hands off of it. You've done a good job with managing the acreage. I'm not an engineer but I have noticed over the years when there are middle or end DPUs they seem to be doing most of the pulling/pushing every time.
224 cars on that first train! I believe that's the longest train I've seen yet. At approx. 50' each car, that's over 11,000 ft,= more than 2 miles long!
Fantastic video. Great trains. My dad was born in Ironton. Thanks for the bd shout out JT. Part II, have you ever been to Cargill plant near Bloomingburg Ohio to watch their little switcher in action? Bloomingburg is 6 miles north of WCH...
I am just now going to bed because I have to get up really early tomorrow. I am going to Cass West Virginia to film some steam trains. I hope Tony and you have a great weekend also
@@JawTooth 😅sleep wel mine friend,i hope you make nice videoos,so as useall.its here now 03:50.,i gonna sleep to,i drink mine beer and then.😴😴😴😴😅laterzzzzzz.
Nice property. Beautiful piece of land. Good acreage. Know what you mean about cows. My grandfather had 43 acres of pasture land and 8 cows. That and root crops kept the farm going. By the seventies our neighbor down the road was barely breaking even and by the 80s he did breeding for a few years. Retired in his 90s. Kids sold the farm and it's gone now. Government regs have killed most of the dairymen unless they run a CAFO. Pretty soon we won't be able to buy milk. Here in CT we have certified raw milk but it's $8.00 gal or more so most folks can't afford it. So know what you are talking about first hand. Enjoyed the trains and the farm history. Don't know how you find time to mow and do videos too. Have a nice weekend and Happy Father's Day. Grace
Hello Mr Tooth! It's your friend the retired police officer from LAPD living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Have you ever been filming and have a train derailment right in front of you while recording? Or how about a train vs vehicle collision at a railroad crossing? Just curious 🤔 haha 😄 take care always My friend 🧡
Nice video of your railfanning at Ironton, Ohio on 10 June 2024, Jaw Tooth! The Norfolk Southern trains were moving through town. The double stack train at the beginning of the video seemed to have more single stacks than double stacks in the first part of the train. I remember watching that video you mentioned that you caught in Ironton, Ohio with all the coal dust flying off the loaded coal cars. That video is the only video of a loaded coal train spewing coal dust all over the place.
On the banks of the O-HI-O! Awesome action by water or land! Thanks for the tour of the Gibson compound! When was the last time the “plug” was installed in the wall to keep the Ohio River on its side?

Nice horn salute on the 2nd one! At least you didn't get coal dusted haha!
