I appreciate that you present as yourself in your videos, just because most of the best beats are serious and sinister doesn’t mean the hip hop community has to be.
As always, a great video! Honestly, I don't know English very well, but for some reason, it is from your videos that I take out and memorize more information than from lessons in my native language) Respect Navie!
That technique of introducing your own distortion on the 808 is super helpful, I have abandoned using an 808 a liked a lot of times due to notes sounding very weak or almost dead even just two semitones below the ones that sound good. I remember on the other video your said it can also be helpful to use an 808 that is already tuned at or closer to the key of your beat.
I feel you, I made a beat when I started producing and it was so bad, because I couldnt find the fitting bass/808. Now after 2 years I remade it and it sounds soo good
I love the beat in the intro(and the end) thx for all the help been here since 20k subs and you evolved amazingly man wish u all the best and smile more it suits you ! :P
There are imaginary rules, they are rules often used to make good beats however the beats that stand out break those rules like Dilla did, it's just good to know the rules to break them effectively
@@ariarimeowmeoweven the rules that are broken by greats are more often just bent, not broken. Dilla’s drums were still played in the frame of a standard drum beat, just had that drunken drag too em.
That 808 is a classic in Hip Hop and other electronic music. HOW the 808 is/was used made the difference, in Hip HOP the 808 was layered with the 909 although a bit muffled. Yes, we used the 808 over top of classic drum breaks just like we used the 909 over drum breaks for the thump! From Pete Rock to Dj Magic Mike the 808 was there! Funny enough I am hearing records using 808 tones with no kick drum.... lol producers asking is the kick drum dead..... NOPE just a trend! Does any beg to differ?
Thank you for easing the journey by learning us a lot! i know ive got great tips and tricks from you and learned a lot about beatmaking in general, instead of having to figure it out myself (which i often still like to do) Definitly one, if not the best producer/beatmaking/musically tips & tricks channel out there. definitly helped me get my game up! and i still have so much to learn :D!
Yo' big brother!!! I do wanna say U have a intuitive approach with show 'n tell of examples to teach what u mean. Cause I noticed from other utube videos and u!! I need to get on pro fab q plugin. Where my production is android / iOS ipad & iphone. I gotta get on spectrum frequencies. Cause this is my weakness. I really don't notice the differences but idk how to mix well those frequencies. But remember u have shown this as an importance.
That synth bass at 8:53 sounds fantastic. Navie do you do a lot of synthesis? Your sampling technique is impecable. I’d love to see what you could do with sound design
came at the perfect time. I am always in need of lower end help. thanks for this Navie, my fl studio wizard! p.s. when you say "click the like" I always do. That actually works! I need to start doing that more often.
Navie is #1 on RUclips. Is it ok to layer different basses like 808s and an acid bass they use in North Cali and Detroit style beats? Is that a common method to add more low end to those acid basses?
I dont see that bass in the start bundle. It has Mikro Prism but Prism is 49.99. your screen shot shows Prism but starter only give you Mikro Prism and that bass finger plucked 2 is not in Mikro Prisim
I always have issues doing the bass on my beats cause I tend to do the same ones because of my limited knowledge on bass playing or just cause I feel nothing works if I get a bit complicated
By the way, how about making a video on the topic: what would happen if one artist met another? For example, MF Doom met Dj Muggs and what would they do

Same!
You should show us how to sound design a bass like J Dilla/Madlib

Wow, really helpful video, much better setting for the videos too 🔥
Hey Navie, could you do a video on how most producers say there are no rules in making music?
there's only theory in music, no rules.
Hmm, that's an interesting idea
There are imaginary rules, they are rules often used to make good beats however the beats that stand out break those rules like Dilla did, it's just good to know the rules to break them effectively

What about sub bass. They go very well with boom bap. Like Dillas beats?
Another great video! Thanks Nav! You're da bestest and coolest and awesomest!!! (2nd handsomest too) 🤟😎👍
all your beat is sick bro 😮😮
Thank you man! helped me a lot! 🤝

@navied another one
this dude is the best
awsome
Hey brother how do u pan these basses and the mode... keep all of them in center and mono even for those synth basses?
Cheers
You are really the best
None of your beats are available on Deezer. You must have got that exclusive Spotify contract $$$. Great video!
Where do you get good 808s?
The 🐐

Been a fan of Karim benzema since 09 never knew that he make beats

There's no right or wrong answer really. If it hasn't been done before, it's your unique idea. As long as it sounds good, that's all that matters.

Ooooooh mic outta frame now, we gettin fahnsee!
That Boom Bap track was hard
What software were you using in the video?
where i can get free good basses? i dont find or dont feel the free fl basses
What are some must use plugins for boom bap?
I think Komplete Start is a good free place to start

I think allot of people forget that you’re bass line can be the main melody of your song, the main sound
bro how to identify the right octave for bass?
Statik usues the 808 well
yoo you look like benzema XDD great video doe much love
U still haven’t responded on telegram about the dj dahi bass line
✌🏼
By the way, how about making a video on the topic: what would happen if one artist met another? For example, MF Doom met Dj Muggs and what would they do
ruclips.net/video/xPEP58nr0IY/видео.html
They would probably do this
2:28 I dont see a video next to you about 808s
This is why I don't use 808 samples. VST's only.
Bruhhh i been waiting for this one bass is kicking my ass, love the beat till i have to put bass in 🤣🤣
Hahah yeah that's how it used to go for me too
Or Alchemist and Prodigy, J Dilla and Dr Dre, Dj Premier and Pete Rock or some not very famous personalities
Karim Benzema of Producing
I'm waiting for 808s to stop being used so much, it's not all the same but sounds like it to Me.
Sounds like a Pete rock beat.
WHY DO TOU KEEP CALLING ME OUT?! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS TREATMENT?!
U having flu Navie bro? Your voice is very nasal and different than usual
