I lived once in shooters hill but I learn more about St Thomas while living abroad 🇯🇲💕
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate that it's not just another idle video with content fit for disposal but rather useful and factual information about my parish of birth. I look forward to the restoration of the Paul Bogle statue and the court house both of which are located in Morant Bay.The people (most) of St Thomas are not rich however we often show our generosity and appreciation by offering 'gifts' from the land whether a hand or bunch of bananas, some mangoes or whatever fruit or ground provision that happens to be in season/available.
The parish was known for it's thriving Banana exports, tobaco, cane, garment and other factories but GoodYear was perhaps the most prominent. Much PR has been in the media recently (July 2017) about plans to make that area a world class attraction/business centre for locals and tourists alike. Should that be realised, it would be a much needed economic boom for the parish. I know this is a rather lengthy comment but I love my country. Oh don't forget to drink a jelly or two as you make your way back to Kingston....vendors are always along the roadway....they say it good fi yu heart:)
Thank you so much to show us the Parish of st. Thomas it is very important to know places

Thanks so much for your support
I like how layneous layne tell the story about the salt pond in yallahs. It makes sense.I am tired to hear the stupid tale about the two brothers. That's real belly full talk.
nothing don't go like that about the two brothers and the yallahs pond that's a fable,, is all about the fact that there's no River that side of yallahs so when the rain falls the water goes down into the lime stone rock and come out under ground heading for the sea, the water collects in the pond and because on the pond below the sea level the water interface with the sea water so it becomes much salter as the sun and lime stone water along with the sea water mix together so it also crystalized to form natural salt, thous the name salt pond, along the south side of Jamaica you find a lot of ponds, non as salt as the yallahs pond because it's well below the sea and interact with the Sea and land mineral,
St Thomas my parish
So a long time Jamaican fight against each other

Informative .however bathfountion...
Thanks guys for the information about St. Thomas. The food at Natasha's restaurant looks great. However, the BIG pipe along the falls is not very attractive. Why is that big pipe there? Jamaica badly needs a Ministry of Interior, who would focus on maintaining the natural beauty of the island and enhancing with landscaping other areas.
The big pipe is supplying water to the places that needs water, so that you can take for granted the fact that water comes out of your pipe at home.
ISH ❤💛💚
very informative
The maroons fight and get hero status
But pond the other
Hand they traitors

Did kno bout Three Finger Jack from long time still
I was born in St Thomas at Morant bay hospital. My family live in Hamstead.
Longboarder Bar & Grill is located in Roselle, St. Thomas and as such could not be "approximately 15 minutes outside of Kingston" as stated @6:26 It would be more like a 50 minute drive from Kingston to get there.
Thanks, MsLikkleBeauty...We must have been driving really fast...because it really felt like only 15 mins...Thanks for stopping by and keeping us in check :)
Its now 3hrs from Kingston due to the condition of the roads.
Please research to confirm that this is still the case, but a couple years ago I was told by a cop that St. Thomas was the only parish that doesn't have a traffic light.
Lol...interesting...We will
Louise M omg im from st thomas and you have me looking all over in my mind for memories of stop light

We Lille but we really talawa!
Reggae falls can be developed into a modern hydroelectric plant
Thanks for that
wow i finally learnt the story of 3 finger jack. i've lived in St. Thomas all my life {21 years} and it's such a shame that it is next to the country's capital {Kingston} yet, it is forgotten? why is that the case? Paul Bogle would roll over in his grave to see the parish he came from like this. St. Thomas is now ranked the poorest parish in the country simply because it has been neglected. Yes it is true, it has no stoplights no Kfc, nor burger king nor island or popeyes. It's soooooooo rich yet so poor, We were promised roads and nothing, we were promised that the jutc buses would now have a route up yallahs {correct me if i'm wrong}. What? are the MP's for St. Thomas extinct? must be. There have been no major development in st. thomas since 1865 { the rebellion} think on that. To the government, how can you improve your country if you keep on forgetting parishes like st.thomas? i wont even get started on the fact that we supply Kingston with water while the people of st thomas are left to suffer without water as all of our own is sent to kingston. How asinine and inconsiderate is that?!!!!!!!!
Sara-Ann Edwards You have hit the nail squarely on the head.
Sara-Ann Edwards im from st thomas(yallahs) also and been asking the same question for years. another question why do the ppl keep voting the same MP in who could care less about st thomas. seem they like the stagnant state of the parish
I'm moving to St. Thomas this year from U.S. I've been all over reading & watching videos about St. Thomas 😀😀
Sara-Ann Edwards Springfield water taste better than any other water
St. Thomas is directly situated in the eastern part of Jamaica and not south eastern
What a pleasant surprise to see a community of people of color that is not poverty stricken.
Yallahs pond was formed when two brothers started war over the land, they woke up one day and the land has two lakes, the barbed wire still ran through it
Bs
For a second the thumbnail looked liked Kevin hart
Well swimming in yallahs pond in fun am living beside it yea
Jovery Thompson people swim in that smelly thing oh hell na
You reach Morrant from town in 40 minutes alone? In that case what are you driving? You barely reach Yallahs in that time
TobbeStorm Its not what we were driving..but how the driver was driving..speedily but safely
ESS CONNECT To my recognition it takes about 30 minutes from Yallahs to Morrant Bay so you couldn't reach Morrant Bay from town in 40 minutes alone
TobbeStorm town starts at round about harbour view that's St Andrew all that area is Kingston St Andrew
TobbeStorm with good roads I'm sure thirty mins tops need the highway
Explain why the pond smell sometime
Sulphur from some of the organisms that live in it. Did you know it is the largest lake in the island, and the only one that grows the nutritious Spirulina?
