    Thank you for sharing. I appreciate that it's not just another idle video with content fit for disposal but rather useful and factual information about my parish of birth. I look forward to the restoration of the Paul Bogle statue and the court house both of which are located in Morant Bay.The people (most) of St Thomas are not rich however we often show our generosity and appreciation by offering 'gifts' from the land whether a hand or bunch of bananas, some mangoes or whatever fruit or ground provision that happens to be in season/available.
    The parish was known for it's thriving Banana exports, tobaco, cane, garment and other factories but GoodYear was perhaps the most prominent. Much PR has been in the media recently (July 2017) about plans to make that area a world class attraction/business centre for locals and tourists alike. Should that be realised, it would be a much needed economic boom for the parish. I know this is a rather lengthy comment but I love my country. Oh don't forget to drink a jelly or two as you make your way back to Kingston....vendors are always along the roadway....they say it good fi yu heart:)

      I like how layneous layne tell the story about the salt pond in yallahs.It makes sense.I am tired to hear the stupid tale about the two brothers. That's real belly full talk.

  • @layneouslayne2861
    @layneouslayne2861 6 лет назад +3

    nothing don't go like that about the two brothers and the yallahs pond that's a fable,, is all about the fact that there's no River that side of yallahs so when the rain falls the water goes down into the lime stone rock and come out under ground heading for the sea, the water collects in the pond and because on the pond below the sea level the water interface with the sea water so it becomes much salter as the sun and lime stone water along with the sea water mix together so it also crystalized to form natural salt, thous the name salt pond, along the south side of Jamaica you find a lot of ponds, non as salt as the yallahs pond because it's well below the sea and interact with the Sea and land mineral,

    Thanks guys for the information about St. Thomas. The food at Natasha's restaurant looks great. However, the BIG pipe along the falls is not very attractive. Why is that big pipe there? Jamaica badly needs a Ministry of Interior, who would focus on maintaining the natural beauty of the island and enhancing with landscaping other areas.

    • @MrNanah38
      @MrNanah38 Год назад

      The big pipe is supplying water to the places that needs water, so that you can take for granted the fact that water comes out of your pipe at home.

    wow i finally learnt the story of 3 finger jack. i've lived in St. Thomas all my life {21 years} and it's such a shame that it is next to the country's capital {Kingston} yet, it is forgotten? why is that the case? Paul Bogle would roll over in his grave to see the parish he came from like this. St. Thomas is now ranked the poorest parish in the country simply because it has been neglected. Yes it is true, it has no stoplights no Kfc, nor burger king nor island or popeyes. It's soooooooo rich yet so poor, We were promised roads and nothing, we were promised that the jutc buses would now have a route up yallahs {correct me if i'm wrong}. What? are the MP's for St. Thomas extinct? must be. There have been no major development in st. thomas since 1865 { the rebellion} think on that. To the government, how can you improve your country if you keep on forgetting parishes like st.thomas? i wont even get started on the fact that we supply Kingston with water while the people of st thomas are left to suffer without water as all of our own is sent to kingston. How asinine and inconsiderate is that?!!!!!!!!
