DVA is so overtuned right now. She can pretty much dive all the time with little chance of being punished because she can just delete a squishy. She also doesn't have to worry about positioning as much with matrix being up all the time. Idk what they were thinking
Don't forget about sojourn, they had to make the game completely unbalanced to not have those two rule the meta again. Still can't take a break from Ashe/tracer/echo though

What she needs now is her kunai projectile to be reduced, her tp needs line of sight, her tp should have a longer cooldown and suzu. And suzu should not be able to heal. If the devs do this then she will be balanced.

I’m a silver junkrat player, and every match I somehow end up countering their dva. They also always play Genji, and I roll him. Junkrat is still viable in the lower ranks.

As a plat Junkrat OTP with 500h, he never felt so miserable. The only way to make him work is by spamming from a safe place with a bit of luck. Airshots, combos, hell even trap are not as dangerous to fight against as before. And lets not talk about his counters that are almost half of the tanks, 75% of the dps, and hell even supps can counter him. I would not recommand starting to play Junkrat on this season but since hes one of the most hated OW heroes (check the Blizzard official profile they did him dirty for the lifeguard skin thing) so they probably wont change it because he works in low lobbies, where his utility is basically "win by using your enemies skill issue"
I hate how current Armor really limits what heroes are viable. Literally am stuck to playing only the heroes with more bursty damage. If they made Armor have a minimum dmg reduction threshold of 20% and a maximum dmg reduction threshold of 40%, I'd like that more.
Echo copy also feels super good on Doomfist now with the extra shields he gets. Not that Doom is super good right now, but in my ranks, they'll pick him anyway so I'll take advantage.
As someone who’s played DVA since season 25 of ow1 , she’s definitely over buffed right now and is the best rank for sure. However, any tank is still really annoying to play because of counterswapping. The amount of games where you get 2-3 counter swaps and just have to sustain / play extremely passively.

i think hog good, mauga niche but viable. i play both. i think people sleeping on ram. he is absolutely terrible after the nerfs. even worse than before.
Ive been trying so hard to get the mauga pixel spray achievement for months now but i just cannot get enough healing or damage from the teammates and enemies i use it on, and now its just completely impossible

To put Pharah back in her place they need to reduce the projectile speed on her primary fire. They've been buffed and buffed to move faster, and they never made it any slower after also buffing its damage and radius.
Lw still needs buffs BUT he’s the best his been, cuz his good with all top heroes, Good w/ Ana(protecting her like brig), Good w/ Illary(Offense & defense balance), good w/ Echo(allowing her to be aggressive), Good w/ DVA(Saving her mini form and securing a remount), and finally pretty good VS Dva easily saving teammates from bomb and even being able to petal it up
i feel like zen is slightly slept on... the heal orb on tank with discord on oppo really does swing fights... at very least forcing the other tank back tracer, soldier even sombra arent as prevalent as they used to be and ana brig bap are pretty good at helping zen survive not saying hes A or anything because u still get punsihed the crap out of if u slightly miss position, if he had thay exyra 25hp or so back then maybe

I feel like zen deserves to be up a tier higher or two, yes he does way less damage against tanks but you can kinda just stick discord on the enemy tank to enable your tank to win the 1v1, then just ignore them and pressure their backline. Ive found it really effective to just leave discord on the tank to kinda force them to play more defensively and kill everybody else while theyre busy dealing with our tank

i have ran into alot of mercy pocketed roadhogs/dvas and those hurt like hell. even when countering with mauga/zarya, if you dont have a zen or ana to anti nade they just survive everything and can get away with murder.
As a LW main I feel I can finally heal tanks, before it was impossible to heal and save them but rn I feel that I can at least make them stay in the fight for a little longer
Good to finally see someone that understands the Mauga change. 3 seconds duration makes it hard to get maximum value out of it, even if the effects are better. That being said I don't want Mauga to be as low as C tier because he's one of the few characters that keeps hog in check imo, and this nerf probably makes him worse in that regard too. As long as he's not A or S tier (maybe even B), he's fine imo.

She enables her kaiju and brig is decent to pair yes BUT... - overnerfed sleep dart can't stop enemy tanks especially ball - invalidated into dva - invalidated by kiri - bad into winston - bad into tracer - bad into sigma - bad into ball (relating to sleep dart) - burst insanely fast by pharah and echo - all her best matchups are down in the bottom tiers I don't know what youre smoking but having her anywhere above B+ is crazy talk While we're on the topic - cree is a tier too high, that range nerf gut him - pharah is a tier too low, not S but still insane especially with cree nerf - sombra is a tier too low, still oppressive to supports and deletes tanks in a tank meta - ball is a tier too low, to the point I'd consider swapping him and winston or at least both A+. Downright unstoppable unless you've got cass and sombra, preferably with discord too - mercy tier too low. She's far from the strongest support but considering how free her ashe/echo/pharah pocket is as well as the kaiju rez chance and potential damage boost on said kaiju its more value than the suggested C tier suggests - probably consider swapping JQ and Rein tiers. JQ gets a shed load of lifesteal now and Rein getting a little extra shield really hasn't made much difference and still needs a lucio to be remotely effective
Orisa is pretty good: when the enemy Ana terrorizes you, and Zarya isn’t working, Orisa can go real hard. A few more microbuffs and the Horse-meta would be back.
Buff idea for rat, give him more ammo and give him an alt fire similar to dredge from paladins (basically junkrat but it’s a ghost pirate). He shoots three of the bombs at once but take longer to detonate
Would love to see a time lapse of these tier lists to really capture how frequently the overwatch experience changes. As a casual player, keeping up with these changes is exhausting (and without these videos I'd be lost); my understanding of the game becomes outdated every couple of months, so I can't just hop on and enjoy as easily.
I honestly miss the content drought so much. Playing a consistent, learnable game with few major changes was the shit, every game felt even and winnable by playing correctly. The ADHD kids would lose their shit without the game being brand new every two weeks though so we get constant chaos instead:/

That’s the Y reticule rotated a bit. I only play pharah so I use the same one but rotated exactly 45 degrees so it makes like half of a cross w/ the 45 degree line in the bottom left. It placebos me into shooting better rockets lol
Question KarQ (II hope you see this), any chance you can delves into counterplay options for meta lists? It's great to know what's generally best at winning... but for lower ranks it would help if there was some pointers to help alleviate or survive strong heroes that you are going against. Especially since lower ranks aren't great at adapting.

As someone who plays DVA she has become Godzilla ripping apart the supports. Biggest change is the mauga cardiac overdrive rework makes DM and DVA literally the best brawl and dive tank. Can literally 1v1 mauga
This game reminds me of an untreated tooth decay. Slowly over time it has just eaten itself away. The developers are doing everything they can to maintain but it seems that they have forgotten why they were great. How many more videos do we need of people shamelessly cheating in Grand Masters? Yet instead they spend on trying to make certain characters "META"? All memes aside I hope they can truly figure out how to stop this madness. It's hard for these new content creators on RUclipsrs to pump out content if the game isn't quite finished. I just hope one season the Overwatch team can try to stop pleasing the people and face the truth and fix the initial underlying issues even if it takes time 😢
As I Dva main I'm so happy she's finally fun again after 2 years of being a fucking snooze fest. Stripping tank synergies for her ult and the existence of Zarya in a 1 tank world has made her suck and now I can finally play her again without wanting to pull my hair out
Sojourn is like 2/3 changes away from being perfectly healthy but not overtuned First they should lower E cooldown from 15 > 12 or even 10 since it no longer slows (that's why it was an absurd cooldown. because it used to CC...) Then buff the recovery on rail to something a bit absurd like .15 seconds and have rail instantly reset your weapon spread. With that? Both ends should be happy. She has more uptime and more stable damage potential with buffed smg + orb. She won't feel as forced to hit the rail due to less downtime when missed. But her overall burst damage is more in line with season 9 health changes
Her current issue is she has to have >50% rail charge to win any real 1v1 and that rail has to be a headshot. Because if you miss you have ~.7 seconds of down time before you can shoot after. They could also increase her ammo count along with this since she's just going to be shooting more but I think rail recovery and faster E would probably be enough.
Mauga was def nerfed. Didn't seem like a nerf, it was super scary to see what he'd be capable of. But feels like it used to be a fortify that lasts for a big portion, now it's like, a short ability like JQ's slash instead.
I honestly think cass absolutely needs to be higher placed, the fact that he cam dictate basically when you can play heroes like tracer is extremely stupid, his shots are to easy to hit and he's wayyy too tanky, if the reverted his projectile size and health pool then he would be placed fine but as he is now he's just to easy for the massive value he actually brings in.
Haven't finished the video, idk if she's meta or not but I saw A LOT of widow during the Juno trial. I haven't played this season outside of the creator patch, pickable passives, and Juno trial bc my mains feel unrewarding. So my knowledge on what has become meta since midseason is non existent. Watching CC's, I've seen a lot of different characters being played.
Disagree about mauga. Sure cardiac is weaker when looking at team benefits but mauga himself benefits a lot. He’s a selfish character anyways so I say it’s a buff🤷♂️
yeah now mauga e has too much cd on his e maybe if they nerfed the dr back down by 10% and his lifesteal to 80% and then the cooldown to 9 seconds or make it a toggle to 50% lifesteal no damage reduction and just a resource meter

4:24 i kinda just disagree. i get dva could eat the entirety of cardiac now, and theres loads of counterplay as simple as walk behind wall. I think that as the mauga, you can counter, counters, if you can track abilities well enough, and predict enemy decisions, and use slam to negate any stuns, stun the dva eating (if she moves, i slam backline with cardiac). I totally agree that at the highest levels of online play, hes probably C tier like you said, but I think that his raw power now, is enough to call him atleast b- in a lot of ranks/matches, and I think it goes up to higher ranked matches than you think.
You could make that arguement for most heroes no? Obviously if you excel at a hero you'll be able to play around counters and shutdown abilities. If you know and play mauga well you'll perform above the 'niche' tier but that can be said for most heros
overall, I dont have much problems with the rankings, I feel theyre fairly accurate to the current state of the game. Sombra is not equal to sym and torb. she is definitely stronger. not saying sym or torb should drop either, I think sombra should move up one singular tier.

Im really hating matchmaking. I’m a support player and I have been top diamond/masters since season 3. This season suddenly I dropped to diamond, then to plat and then to gold 😭 Idk what happened but I’ve noticed that my dps players are significantly worse, many matches I’ve had the same damage as them WITH my normal healing. What should I do? I’ll probably wait to season 12 to climb again but it’s really annoying having such a bad loose streakñ
The same, mate. I was master on doom, but those recent updates has just put me down to diamond 3. Can’t do a sht against counterpick heroes. This new buff for doom actually did nothing to him.
I'm still convinced Blizzard doesn't understand armor in their own game and never considers the knock-on effect of the changes they implement. For example, they hardly buff Orisa but then also make the blanket armor change which nerfs Orisa quite a bit. They just adjust a number and call it a day.

Would love to see a time lapse of these tier lists to really capture how frequently the overwatch experience changes. As a casual player, keeping up with these changes is exhausting (and without these videos I'd be lost); my understanding of the game becomes outdated every couple of months, so I can't just hop on and enjoy as easily.
I honestly miss the content drought so much. Playing a consistent, learnable game with few major changes was the shit, every game felt even and winnable by playing correctly. The ADHD kids would lose their shit without the game being brand new every two weeks though so we get constant chaos instead:/
@@seanschmeeckle6606 Haha agreed. I think the constant balance changes might also be reflective of a dev team that's unsure of what their game is supposed to be. Could also be the nature of an e-sports game that constantly adds new heroes (compared to something like counter strike or rocket league).

That’s the Y reticule rotated a bit. I only play pharah so I use the same one but rotated exactly 45 degrees so it makes like half of a cross w/ the 45 degree line in the bottom left. It placebos me into shooting better rockets lol
Question KarQ (II hope you see this), any chance you can delves into counterplay options for meta lists? It's great to know what's generally best at winning... but for lower ranks it would help if there was some pointers to help alleviate or survive strong heroes that you are going against. Especially since lower ranks aren't great at adapting.

As someone who plays DVA she has become Godzilla ripping apart the supports. Biggest change is the mauga cardiac overdrive rework makes DM and DVA literally the best brawl and dive tank. Can literally 1v1 mauga

As I Dva main I'm so happy she's finally fun again after 2 years of being a fucking snooze fest. Stripping tank synergies for her ult and the existence of Zarya in a 1 tank world has made her suck and now I can finally play her again without wanting to pull my hair out
Sojourn is like 2/3 changes away from being perfectly healthy but not overtuned
First they should lower E cooldown from 15 > 12 or even 10 since it no longer slows (that's why it was an absurd cooldown. because it used to CC...)
Then buff the recovery on rail to something a bit absurd like .15 seconds and have rail instantly reset your weapon spread.
With that? Both ends should be happy. She has more uptime and more stable damage potential with buffed smg + orb. She won't feel as forced to hit the rail due to less downtime when missed.
But her overall burst damage is more in line with season 9 health changes
Her current issue is she has to have >50% rail charge to win any real 1v1 and that rail has to be a headshot. Because if you miss you have ~.7 seconds of down time before you can shoot after. They could also increase her ammo count along with this since she's just going to be shooting more but I think rail recovery and faster E would probably be enough.
It's nasty how Ana is a meta since her release 😢
Mauga was def nerfed. Didn't seem like a nerf, it was super scary to see what he'd be capable of. But feels like it used to be a fortify that lasts for a big portion, now it's like, a short ability like JQ's slash instead.

I honestly think cass absolutely needs to be higher placed, the fact that he cam dictate basically when you can play heroes like tracer is extremely stupid, his shots are to easy to hit and he's wayyy too tanky, if the reverted his projectile size and health pool then he would be placed fine but as he is now he's just to easy for the massive value he actually brings in.
Haven't finished the video, idk if she's meta or not but I saw A LOT of widow during the Juno trial. I haven't played this season outside of the creator patch, pickable passives, and Juno trial bc my mains feel unrewarding. So my knowledge on what has become meta since midseason is non existent. Watching CC's, I've seen a lot of different characters being played.
Disagree about mauga. Sure cardiac is weaker when looking at team benefits but mauga himself benefits a lot. He’s a selfish character anyways so I say it’s a buff🤷♂️
yeah now mauga e has too much cd on his e maybe if they nerfed the dr back down by 10% and his lifesteal to 80% and then the cooldown to 9 seconds or make it a toggle to 50% lifesteal no damage reduction and just a resource meter

4:24 i kinda just disagree. i get dva could eat the entirety of cardiac now, and theres loads of counterplay as simple as walk behind wall. I think that as the mauga, you can counter, counters, if you can track abilities well enough, and predict enemy decisions, and use slam to negate any stuns, stun the dva eating (if she moves, i slam backline with cardiac). I totally agree that at the highest levels of online play, hes probably C tier like you said, but I think that his raw power now, is enough to call him atleast b- in a lot of ranks/matches, and I think it goes up to higher ranked matches than you think.
You could make that arguement for most heroes no?
Obviously if you excel at a hero you'll be able to play around counters and shutdown abilities.
If you know and play mauga well you'll perform above the 'niche' tier but that can be said for most heros

overall, I dont have much problems with the rankings, I feel theyre fairly accurate to the current state of the game. Sombra is not equal to sym and torb. she is definitely stronger. not saying sym or torb should drop either, I think sombra should move up one singular tier.

No joke, I haven't won A SINGLE comp game with dva on my team.
I've never had less fun in this game as a tank player since the last patch. It's ironic how most tank buffs don't matter at all the second the enemy goes Dva and you have no other choice than to mirror her or go Zarya (who isn't nearly as good as Dva but at least isn't hard countered by her like everyone else). And what did Blizzard do in the hotfix? Nerf Lúcio
I HATE the hotfix, Ram is ruined and Zarya is still just as op. They should have left the tank buff patch as is at this rate.
Im really hating matchmaking. I’m a support player and I have been top diamond/masters since season 3. This season suddenly I dropped to diamond, then to plat and then to gold 😭 Idk what happened but I’ve noticed that my dps players are significantly worse, many matches I’ve had the same damage as them WITH my normal healing. What should I do? I’ll probably wait to season 12 to climb again but it’s really annoying having such a bad loose streakñ
The same, mate. I was master on doom, but those recent updates has just put me down to diamond 3. Can’t do a sht against counterpick heroes. This new buff for doom actually did nothing to him.

I'm still convinced Blizzard doesn't understand armor in their own game and never considers the knock-on effect of the changes they implement. For example, they hardly buff Orisa but then also make the blanket armor change which nerfs Orisa quite a bit. They just adjust a number and call it a day.
