Don't forget that you have to wait for NBD to release their own custom betaflight builds. So it is slower to adopt new features one may want to try out.
Hi Nick. Love your reviews and you are always spot on. The good and not so good. The frame warranty totally makes sense. It can't cost very much to make those but you pay for shipping and throw some other things in your cart while you are at it. It is actually brilliant for sales.
Hi Nick, Great video and review of the New Bee Drone Hummingbird v3. $89.99 WOW ! ! Guess I better get a couple for that price. I am impressed with the little guy. Thanks again for the video and information about this quad.
Nice littel looker, decent price in these times. Motor Plugs, ugh, PH2 connector, slight ugh but still very common. Glad I didn't invest in GNB 27, big fan of BT2 and now A30 batteries. Minus those two connectors you make it look very capable, I'd be the more "Is it Durrable" test pilot in the room and it looks like you did good there too. Good point on the 25mw, I run that on a Mob6HDZero and put an Old house with loads of overhead wires between us with little breakup, range is subjective. Looks like a fun quad tho and you're flying. Nothing wrong with that. Thanks for the video, Cheers!
you are right on switching to bt2 right from the beginning, its definitely scary to solder it for the beginner to your TINY whoop pads, but its sort of mandatory if you want much better experience. i got stuck for 2 seasons with ph2 becasue i got ph2 batteries. and now its a bit more costy to switch, but well have to lol i think its good that you are letting people know some important tips all the time to make less mistakes with what to go for
Soldering a new power lead on to the FC I would never recommend for a newbie. But, clipping just the plug off and soldering a new connector on is a pretty low risk proposition.
Apropos your choice of Vtx frequency, what do you (anyone) think about Band E, Ch 8 (5945)? It's the highest analog frequency I can note/use, and furthest from WiFi - Your chosen Raceband Ch 8 (5917) is a bit lower. I'm still hunting for the best Freq, (and don't race) - any comments/recommendations are welcome. Cheers.
On order! 89.00 cost and the weight loss is unheard of with NBD. I am no pro, barely ever fly acro, but past hummingbirds are solid. I understand the PH 2.0 issue and you are correct, but honestly, for US newbee dudes (play on words, not brand) it is decent.
Nick I don't see the red recording icon on your OSD either...also to see goggle voltage would be a nice option...if you can find a way for the analog guys thanks!
Fantastic flying and review, Nick!!! 😃 And the camera looked interesting... Like if the quad was using a baseball cap! 😂 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Can you please tell me what is on your pool? Can you provide a link or be very descriptive? I live in the country side and have hay fields on two sides of me. Between the pollen and BUGS, it is hard to keep the pool clean. LOVE your content!!!! Thank you for the time you put into your videos!
The pool cover was installed by the pool company. They call it an "auto cover". There is a track and cabling built into the cement area the length of the pool and the bigger area with the silver cover is where the cover is rolled back and stored when open. The area the cover is rolled back into also has a motor attached to the track cables to pull the cover on and off. Over by the pool filter and heater is a switch behind a keyed/locked cover that controls the motor and whether it is covering or uncovering. It does a good job keeping the pool pretty clean. We leave it covered when not in use, although I do open the cover from time to time to let the water breath...the pool company instructed us to do that. We also have an in water cleaner that moves about in 2 hour increments.
Love to here this is a ELRS V3 so it will bind to the Radio Master Pocket easily, right? Because the Pocket is a ELRS V3. How about a quick video on that?
It’s convenient because both the pocket and the drone are on ELRS 3.x.x but all that means is you don’t have to flash new firmware to them, just a matching binding phrase
Hi Nick, Many thanks for another great review. Ordered mine this morning, will be interesting to see what color I get. Got a BT 2.0 ready to solder on before the first flight. 😊
Hi Nick! I’m looking for the smallest thing that can carry a instaGO just to show places that I go in different perspective when is not windy, do you think that this little one can do it? Any suggestion that looks like a toy, so people will not be scared. If you have a good portable controller to suggest will be awesome. Thank you for all the content
I wouldn't use an instago as the battery weight of the camera would likely make flying with it, difficult. I would use suggest something like the cadds peanut which doesn't use a battery but does require us to solder the power wires to the flight controller.
I realize this is an older video, but what is your analog goggle, receiver, antenna setup? Your DVR footage makes it look like your analog signal is nearly flawless.
Nick, I'm looking to get a 65mm whoop for indoor racing and wanted to get your opinion /recommendation on what you think is the best 65mm out right now? Thanks
specifically for racing in the 65mm size the mobula6 is very popular. Many racers buy a mobula6 and put it on a betafpv metor65 frame. The mobula6 frame isn't very durable and the meteor65 is much more durable.
Another great review! Question for you. Would you rather have this a Mobile7 or Mob6? Do you think it's worth waiting a bit for the new HappyModels? I have a DIY Moblite 7 Mob 6 but my HM FC on both is giving me some issues it reboots on a crash so was thinking of getting a new Whoop especially for this Winter indoor flying. I've had mixed experience with Humming Birds in the past so not a huge fan but would give them another go. I love the sub 20g weight and nimbleness of the HM stuff not exactly sure how an extra 4-6g is going to impact my flight.
I very much prefer the 75mm whoops. Our house is good sized and has good flight spaces. 75mm also is better outside in my opinion. I am not aware of HM coming with a new whoop soon, but I wouldn't be surprised as it does seem, Oct/Nov is a good time to launch whoops. I suspect betafpv will as well with their new "air" frame, not sure if that is 65mm with 31mm props or 65mm with 35mm props.
Is there a reason why you prefer the Rapid Fire over the Fusion? Just curious because I’m still a big fan of analog and might get one of those in the future. Currently using Steady View and seems to work really well, but might eventually get a second pair of goggles.
Save some money and get FuriousFPV LITE module for around $50 vs. $160 for RF or $120 for tbs fusion. Gives 95% same signal quality for 1/3 the price! I compared them thoroughly and even in a parking garage so similar, not worth paying TRIPLE for Rapidfire. It and Fusion are the big names, but good ole FuriousFPV gives the same performance. So close can't really tell the difference! Heck, you can actually buy this whoop with the savings! 😎🤘
No particular reason. I had the rapidfire for almost a year before I got a fusion. I think the fusion works equally well. I need to find time to go through a number of quads and test with fusion and maybe make the switch. Depends if they both have the camera sync issue or not. trouble is not every flight the rapidfire will have the issue, would take a bunch of flight testing.
I've been looking for a small 1s whoop. Currently in my list is Mobula 7. Now I see your HummingBird v3. I am not sure if you've reviewed the Mobula before. If so, do you recall how it differs? Great review!
I do believe I have reviewed most whoops the mobula 6 is a really good one too. The main difference is weight. Lower weight generally allows us to fly long and/or faster inside. The lower weight doesn't help us outside with the wind. The frame of the mobula 6 isn't durable. I have broken all of them in some way. As to other flight they fly comparatively similarly other than the weight factor.
Had to get my nick burns fix on this one I knew you would have a review on it yours is one I can trust on opinions lol keep ripping brother this is actually TattedTommysTv lol keep helping us out brother
Goober canopies are the weakest part. I'm all thumbs, I've never been able to mount the camera using the neck collar into the canopy. I've invested in a handful of the older v2 camera mount - haven't broke one yet.
Am I the only one that isn't upset about the 25mW only VTX? I honestly don't crank up the power on my whoops that often anyway. And for racing, that is all that is allowed. I hope/suspect that making it 25mw only could also increase the reliability/longevity.
Biggest reason on the H-bird is the have a rock solid EXACT 25mw for racing. It's a huge problem in most races that a lot of Whoops blast out more than 25mw even though they are set to 25.
oh no. Did newbeedrone send customers an email about the need to change the esc/bluejay version? I did see they made a facebook post about an issue with bluejay and esc damage.

$89 is not bad! 25mW, proprietary motor plugs, and ph2.0 is a little disappointing.
Some thing change and others not so much. I think we all would like to see standardization of our connectors
Agreed. The plugs and PH2.0 is a pass, even at this price.
Don't forget that you have to wait for NBD to release their own custom betaflight builds. So it is slower to adopt new features one may want to try out.
FYI TinyWhoop gives away NBD motor wires/plugs for free if you need to swap any.

Thanks for the great review... loved the "One-way-whoop" reference! (ultimate outdoor whooper's cautionary tale)
Nice review, Nick! Finally Newbeedrone actually competes in price! After sooooo long...
