Love these two together. I'll bet they were in love/lust then. Both very sexy and loved each other you could see it. Sang so we'll together. I think they were in love a longggggg time. 💋
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp Earl Thomas Conley.ETC had eighteen numbers ones in the Eighties. He also had four number ones from the same album "Don't Make It Easy for Me" in 1983.
Romancing the lovely Roseann Cash must have been hard work. They are beautiful together. Seriously I hope they are both well. That is a song dreams are made of, We need more beauty and romance today. God knows.
Christmas Eve 1987 - A chance meeting with an old friend from High School that I hadn't seen in years. I was out of work at the time and feeling pretty down. I saw her out of the corner of my eye as she walked into church, back home for the holidays. Naaah, it couldn't be I said, but it was her. I turned around and there she was, flashing that big smile that I remember. One of the best presents I ever got. We were never more than friends but she holds a special place in my heart.
"You and me will always be just looking for something that's already happened.." Rodney and Roseanne's voices together are sheer heaven on this one. Makes me happy just to think of this song--thanks for posting!
WHAT A GREAT NUMBER BY THESE TWO GREAT TALENTS. I NEVER GET TIRED OF PLAYING IT OVER AND OVER IN MY CAR. THE BAND DOES A BEAUTIFUL JOB AND THE HARMONY IS PERFECT....THANK YOU FOR POSTING.
I have always loved Roseanne cash and the older I get the more of a beautiful Person she is in many more ways than one. And Rodney Crowell in my opinion will Go down as one of the best musicians and poets as well what a duo of talent
On this day in 1988 {April 24th} "It's Such A Small World" by Rodney Crowell {in a duet with Rosanne Cash} peaked at #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... And one month later on May 7th "It's Such A Small World" also reached #1 {for1 week} on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart... "It's Such A Small World" was the first of five consecutive #1 records by Rodney Crowell on the Hot Country Singles chart... Between 1978 and 2003 the Houston, Texas native had twenty-five records on the Hot Country Singles chart, eight* made the Top 10 with five reaching #1... He charted twice with duets, the above "It's Such A Small World" and with Johnny Cash, "I Walk The Line (Revisited)" {#61 in 1998}... Rodney Crowell will celebrate his 71st birthday in four months on August 7th, 2021... * He just missed having a ninth Top 10 record when his "What Kind of Love" peaked at #11 in 1992... And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Hot Country Singles' Top 10 on April 24th, 1988: At #2. "Cry, Cry, Cry" by Highway 101 #3. "I'm Gonna Get You" by Eddy Raven #4. "Young Country" by Hank Williams, Jr. #5. "Baby I'm Yours" by Steve Wariner #6. "The Last Resort" by T. Graham Brown #7. "The Factory" by Kenny Rogers #8. "Americana" by Moe Bandy #9. "Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses" by Kathy Mattea #10. "Old Folks" by Ronnie Milsap and Mike Reid
" Lay your heart on the line, let go of your mind". I borrowed that line in 2012 for the start of the most beautiful thing i have ever experienced in this life!
It's a song about reconnecting with an old lover for one night on a chance meeting in NYC, not about "falling in love." It's clear from the lyrics that it's not going to be forever, even though the video has him returning to her at the very end.
Still remember day was on radio stations still love this classic hit song today. One beautiful song. Classic hit song on classic hit radio stations. Song I always remember Forever. 100%. They were great team. Truly love there classic hit songs on different albums. Truly amazing artist and talented singer and songwriter and much more. Thank you.
growing up i drove an older dodge car with a cassete player, only had about a dozen cassetes but my favorite was rodney crowel. will never forget those times!
Always loved Roseanne's music.Read up on her. What a great personality and go getter. She accomplished sooo much.Read about her mom Vivian also a great woman....Love
I had not thought about this song for many years. I was at the Country Music Hall Of Fame last week and saw this video playing and it made me stop and smile. This is real country music sung by talented artists.
I met him at 14 & fell in love. 5 yrs later, he was living 2600 miles away from our home town & I was 100. Out of the blue, I hit the only bar in our small town just to see him there. This song sums that night up perfectly. We have since moved on to other people, but again, last year, I stopped for gas in this small little village miles away from where I live. You realize it's such a small world when you walk in & there he is too :)
This is a racy video even by today's standards, imo, because most married celebs don't want to reveal that much of themselves on camera. Good for them, that they were able to be so vulnerable and open, because it is a beautiful video. The only other video I can recall seeing, that had a husband and wife team in bed together, was the Jessica Simpson video for "The Sweetest Sin". On her MTV reality show, they showed the filming of that video, and I still can't believe it. She and Nick Lachey were rolling around in bed together, looking naked under the sheets, and her ex-preacher father was standing there watching the whole thing. I was thinking, how in the hell do you get busy with your hubby under the sheets, with your Daddy standing there watching? I'm sure I wasn't the only one wondering about that. That was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen on a reality show.
They ARE happy. Saw Rosanne at a book signing in NYC a few years back and she was great. Inspiring to those of us who identify with what she went through and gets out of life. Rodney, of course, creatively forges ahead as usual.
They are both alive and well and active in the music world! Roseanne posts almost daily on facebook :) ..just remembering ..I worked for Sony Music, Toronto when they were 'hot' and this video came out.. Imagine my surprise and delight when A&R brought Rodney down to the Inventory Control dept. to meet me.. knowing I was a huge fan ..and Shan gave me two tickets for his show that evening ..wow.. what a nice memory :)
These are the real deal country stars. Both still making compelling records of their own songs. Knocked this duet out of the park back in the 80's. Love them both and I'm not a big fan of country music (unless we're talking Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams)
+Stephane Ouellette I agree with ;you stephane. what a good song, real country.they looked so good together in this video. hopefully they are both happy and well.
+Barbara Rene I love it! What are supposed to listen to in 2015, "todays music"? Hey, like the man said "today's music ain't got the same soul,,,,,," Some music is timeless, I think this qualifies!
Start talking like that , they will remove the video and that would be a shame because it's love, it's beautiful. These two were sweet together.LOVE this video and the song. Hope they never take it off. They took one of the Manhattan Transfer 's off just because a few guys mentioned how sexy Janis's dress was (low cut) it was beautiful cuz she is. And it was the CUTEST video. Dang it!!!!!!
good to see Rodney still truckin. Such talent. Nice to hear positive outcomes once in awhile. Musicians seem always to be dragged into dark pits. Too many IMO.
Their dynamic beginning produced some great music, but like the moon and the sun, both couldn't exist in the presence of now, and we the fans suffered! Love their music!
Check out Rodney Crowell "It Ain't Over Yet" (featuring Rosanne Cash & John Paul White). It's fairly new -- created many years after they were together.
They changed the ending in the video. In the song, it's implied that it's just a one-time hookup (for old time's sake), but in the video he comes back to her at the end.
This was the real Country music of my era. Nothing about today's so-called country music comes close to being listenable.
One of my favorite “Country Couples”! They sounded so good together! ❤️
Props to Rodney Crowell. Huge talent.
Ok
I know the past is the past. But it sure contained beautiful music & sweet memories. I have always loved the music these two made together & singly.
Rodney Crowell is a great singer, and the songs he wrote are legendary. He got all five #1 hits on the country chart from the SAME album!
Love these two together. I'll bet they were in love/lust then. Both very sexy and loved each other you could see it. Sang so we'll together. I think they were in love a longggggg time. 💋
Didn't Earl Thomas Conway also do something like that?

Great song and an awesome video! 🎉 Cheers 🍻 & Happy Trails ~ Always!!
Rodney and Rosanne in happier times. When did they start havin' marital problems? Somebody let me know. Hit #1 in Billboard, 4-30-88. God bless!
That was absolutely beautiful, two good-looking people singing a gorgeous song, how cool is that...I loved it💯

Love this song! Their voices blended so beautifully.

Kinda makes me wonder why they split up :(
Such a nice song and couple. Reminds me of better times.
I forgot how great they are together, back then/when… Golly.

one of their better know hits. Both are awesome in their own right.Too bad country radio totally ignores these people.
A #1 hit for Rodney Crowell & Rosanne Cash on the Country & Western charts. It was the 902nd #1 C&W song of the Rock Era.
It’s a shame nobody falls in love like that anymore.

What a good song is supposed to like.
True

I liked that they did that for the video, but the words of the song are a bit sad: they love each other but know that what they had before is gone.
@FatherTimeST1300 the beginning..meaning like when Rosanne says " you wanna come play in the water" etc? The is from thier honeymoon.
Awesome vid.
