Every remaining Clone cheered and celebrated like at the end of Return of the Jedi.
@Jaegar19Ultima Not entirely Piett's fault. Palpatine ordered the position of the Empire's fleet to remain close to the Death Star II following the entrapment of the Rebels. The Executor likely could have survived the impact from the A-Wing even with the destruction of it's bridge, but the fact that it was so close to the Death Star II meant that once the bridge was taken out, it likely lost propulsion and had no where else to go but into the Death Star 2. When the Jedi, basically a religious order of peace-loving beings, untrained in the arts of war and military tactics, actually end up being better than the professional military officers they served with while in the Republic.
@@capofantasma97 The genocide of the Sith was hundreds if not thousands of years ago. The Jedi may be trained in Lightsaber combat but they are not trained in leading troops into battle. They are still peacekeepers after all.
@@capofantasma97 They are trained in combat. Not battle tactics dumby.
@@capofantasma97
Engaging in "police force activity" does not perfectly translate to you being able to direct vast military campaigns and formulating operational strategies across combatant theaters as part of the general staff of an armed forces. Can you imagine average law enforcement officers suddenly being requested by congress to act as generals for the military? That's essentially what happened. It makes no sense that it happened, but it just happened because of a combination of factors - of course, that doesn't back up your point that the Jedi SHOULD have been the generals of the Grand Army, as the following points explain:
Peacekeepers are also supposed to KEEP THE PEACE and PREVENT A WAR from breaking out in the first place, not ENGAGE in one - that's the job of professional soldiers and officers, which the Jedi were not.
The Jedi were essentially nothing more than monks who were also given policing duties by the Republic government before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, studying heavily in the religious arts and the ways of the Force, educating, promoting peace and engaging in diplomatic actions, enforcing the law here and there. The Jedi Order was not a military academy, the likes of which were on planets such as Coruscant or Cardia, and are comparable to West Point or the United States Naval Academy, where cadets were drilled in protocol, standards and procedure, tactics and strategy, policy-making, command style and leadership, for the specific purpose of producing leaders of the military.
Of course the Senate allowed the Jedi to serve as the leaders of their new Grand Army of the Republic - it's a collection of representatives, thinking with little logic and fear which has taken over them in the face of an ongoing crisis. Of course they chose the Jedi, who were probably a less suitable choice than actual personnel who were part of the Judicial Forces and individual Planetary Security Forces (PSFs), who had graduated from the aforementioned military academies - because the Senate is incompetent and can't make decisions for the good of the Republic, in all fairness. The Jedi, when presented with the opportunity and order to serve the Republic, had to oblige - by then, they were slaves of the Republic, and Chancellor Palpatine had, as you even state yourself, manipulated the political situation to such an extent, they had no other choice but to accept their new responsibilities as generals. It's questionable that Palpatine ever actually saw the Jedi as competent leaders and generals for the new Grand Army - he almost certainly chose them to take up their new positions just so he could manufacture their downfall.
It's almost useless to point out the fact that the Jedi had engaged in wars with the Sith decades upon decades and centuries ago, just because of how long ago these conflicts were, as well as the fact that the Jedi tend to block out parts of history and information that relates to the Sith at all.
The only positives to the Jedi acting as the general staff of the Grand Army were that they did, of course, have force abilities, which may have helped them to some extent, such as in predictions of certain situations, the upkeep of morale among the troops, etc. However, none of this holds a candle to actual training and drilling of the military arts - any soldier, marine, sailor, airman, junior enlisted personnel, non-commissioned officer, commissioned officer, general, or admiral, will tell you this. Jedi even showed a lack of understanding of their roles as generals when they threw themselves in the middle of battles - the role of a general is to command huge swaths of men, organizing logistics and policy, formulating strategy, with the assistance of his lower staff at headquarters, and not to charge in with the rest of the field troops below him, no matter how much morale and inspiration it will give them - that's now how modern warfare works, nor how it should work in the Star Wars Universe (the Galactic Empire was an adequate representation of how generalship should actually work). They also, as you might notice, resorted countless times to simple-minded charge or swarm tactics, having troops move with virtually no cover, and facing the enemy in their direct line of sight.
The whole point of my original comment to this video was to point out the irony of Jedi actually being better tacticians than a trained, professional military officer - Captain Ozzel. If you pay attention to my argument, in most cases, this will not be true.
@@capofantasma97 bruh I called you a dumby. I meant no harm.
@Julius Caesar Trained in the art of Force abilities and lore, and 1v1, sword-fighting combat.
By the "Art of War", I mean actual development of strategies and policies for military campaigns or a galactic-scale war. The Jedi had not fought a war as significant as the Clone Wars in a long time, and had, by the start of it, been reduced to an Order of RELIGIOUS Force zealots, occasionally tasked with the job of policing - something that should not be compared to "generalship", if you will. Sure, they were good at fighting 1v1 and with lightsabers - make them the Special Forces of your army, but don't make them your officers and leaders unless they know tactics.
Refer to my longer post/comment from earlier, if you'd like, for increased detail.

So Captain Ozzel is basically me when I'm playing Galactic Conquest in Battlefront 2 (2005 version)
Yeah, I accidentally bankrupted the Republic, sent every fleet to their destruction and presided over the deaths of more than 589 million clones, three jedi (but I wouldn't worry, two of them were Ki-Adi Mundi and Aayla Secura, they weren't going to make it either way), also about... 40 jawas and 40 million wookiees...
Also I lost Kamino to the Separatists, so, yeah, those clones aren't getting replaced any time soon.
Also before all of that... I somehow lost the historic republic triumph on Geonosis, so they were able to produce thrice the amount of battle droids that they ususally would, Jango Fett didn't die, Mace Windu did and the republic kind of became a laughingstock even before the clone wars began.
Actually that came back to haunt me because Jango Fett single-handedly took out our defences on both Felucia and Kashyyyk, and the clones felt conflicted about basically being told to shoot their dad, who trained them and watched them grow up, so it led to a significant decline in morale, as if we had any to begin with, so they started a mutiny and turned on me and republic forces had to retreat from republic forces.
But I saved Mustafar! Ripped it right from the clutches of the Separatists and constructed one final fleet around it that the Separatist armada just doesn't seem interested in, they just keep travelling around, building fleets and blockades over all of the other planets, and I'm not going to risk our final fleet challenging those ones so we appear to be at a stalemate, checkmate Separatists.
As for our last fleet; the shipbuilders gave me a terrific discount, they must've felt sorry for us because they let me construct the fleet free of charge, so I guess the entire Republic is just going to have to relocate to that sulfur-filled lava planet. You're welcome.
you know I imagine that this is pretty much exactly what would happen if Dooku actually wanted to win the clone wars, minus the fact that you still had clone troopers after the Battle of Geonosis and that Jango didn't die.

This execution by lord Vader was one of his killings I was happy about. I bet a lot of troopers and officers were actually happy for once when Vader murdered Admiral Ozzel. Before this video, he was so incompetent that I thought that he was a rebel spy and jumped too close to the Hoth system on purpose in order to warn the rebels, but it looks like he was just an old, incompetent fool
If this guy was a grand moff he would have easily destroyed the Death Star before it was completed lol.
Weren't it for Vader force chocking him Ozzal would have ended up winning the war for the rebellion 😂
Force choking was too good for this guy. Vader should’ve straight up made him into a human pretzel, like in the opening of X-Men: Apocalypse.
I actually recall that during the imperial era. Vader and Captain Piett were well aware of Ozzel's incompetence and were plotting to make him look bad to justify his -permanent- dismissal from command. Piett proved to be a much more competent admiral because unlike Ozzel who was handed his position without truly earning it. Piett started from the bottom of the chain of command and steadily climbed the ranks. Earning every promotion by putting down pirate outposts and rebel cells.

He didn't learn anything in those amazing school? Hrmmm somehow I think he just used his family name and money to pave his way into success.......but that didn't work in the end huh?
I wonder how Thrawn would have handled him if he was under his service.
But I feel he would either assign him to a position so low he wouldn't fuck things up or make an example out of him after his second failure and have concluded that he's a lost cause
Thrawn would have 100% faded him
Wouldn't Commander Wolfe outrank Ozzel since Ozzel was a captain and Wolfe was a commander?
If my memories seve me right, one of the major reason this battle was a victory was by their was an crazy brave clone trooper who was the commander of the devil dogs which he gave up his life to blow up a the biggest fortress of the seperatist in this battle(i dont renember his name)
Soldiers don’t mind officers with zero regard for human life, as long as that officer brings them a justifiable victory, and if his orders are logical and able to get them victory.
Ozzel during battle : OH SHIT! OH FUCK! OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT!!N
Ozzel when he's saved by outside intervention: Just as I planned. You guys are so lucky to have me in such unpredictable engagements.
I hope they make another Empire at War game where they focus on that fact when you play as the empire
OH MY GOD MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAD THIS BOOK IN THE LIBRARY, I READ ALL OF THEM. I LOVED IT

The droids have the high ground lmao
Someone relieve this man of his duties, he's unfit to command...
Ozzel was as clumsy as he was stupid. It’s no small miracle he made it through what he made it through without dumb luck.
After watching this I can say that Ozzel was one of Vader’s most justified murders
You have failed me for the last time Admiral.
3:50 now I'd certainly like to quote a well known great Thinker, Lord Tywin Lannister: "Any man who needs to remind everybody that he's king (in this case superior officer), is no king"
this is from the same comic where wolffe loses his eye
He's like a second-hand Threepio: plenty of fear, none of the charm.
3P0 is not a coward. He's just very anxious.

True, I'll just edit that to "fear" then.
Darth Vader killing him was a mercy to the Empire.
He was a bad commender and admirals. Great video
No matter how many times I see that picture at 0:10, I will always look at the guy on the far left and think: "He looks like Otto von Bismarck but with a blue face."
Far left you mean
@@kakakaka3219 oh shoot yup you right, I'll edit
