  • A short video covering the basics of Big Wuji and Embracing post for Zhan Zhuang Standing Stake Neigong.
This practice of holding static body postures is the ‘big secret’ in the Chinese Internal arts, both healing and the martial arts and forms the cornerstone of the deeper aspects of the spiritual methods in the Qi arts and what people are now calling Qi medicine.
The big reality you work with is learning to feel your body from the inside out. Standing Stake forced the mind to focus on feeling instead of thinking and mental analysis. It open the deep tissues up, every tendon and every layer of fascia can be worked on and with consciously with enough time and work properly put in.
This is where The current fad and misunderstanding called Yin Yoga comes from. Opening the joints and fascia this way can and will permanently change and strengthen your body and help it be stronger and even heal a great deal of imbalances. This practice is great for healing scar tissue and regaining mobility and helping the mind develop a true capacity for being present and connected to the body.
All the deep secrets of the Chinese Internal martial arts start here. Everything is hidden in plain sight. You just have to do the work and want to learn about yourself. The stress the mind goes through with this training is as rigorous and as intense as anything you will find in elsewhere. The trick is seeing past how seemingly simple this seems.
The easy way to experience what I mean is by trying to stand in one low posture like Big Wuji for 45-60 minutes. I am currently working on 45 minutes a day.
See you all on the other side.
