I think I’ve went in the opposite direction with sun protection. Never wore sunscreen for most of my life because I don’t tend to burn. However, when I learned that a tan itself is evidence of skin damage, that gave me pause. Now I wear sunscreen daily, rain or shine, and my skin is looking much improved overall. Protecting your skin from the sun doesn’t mean fearing it.

    • @katgirlblue
      @katgirlblue Год назад +28

Absolutely right! A tan itself is skin damage. Every morning I slather on the sunblock, and have done since I was a teenager and read for the first time in a magazine about photo aging. It had two pictures that compared a guy who worked outside, and a monk in a monastery, both the same age. I guess you know how their skin looked - one was like leather and the other smooth. It made such an impression on me! Aside from that, I don't know why people tell Tati what she "should" do - it's her life!

She never said do not wear sunscreen, she uses it on her face- non nano zinc oxide is a safe sunscreen, but avobenzone is harmful-and most people spray it all over, also when you stop eating seed oils you have a better relationship with the sun, spend some time researching what she is talking about.

I’m not throwing rocks, but when you’ve had chunks of your skin cut out from melanoma, you’ll be more careful. I am days away from 5 years since my melanoma diagnosis, and when you’ve begged god to let you live to see your child graduate, it changes your perspective. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are very safe sunscreens.

THANK YOU for sharing this. She mentioned she doesn't burn, and I think a lot of people have the idea that if they are not burning, they are not getting sun damage, but that is not true. That's why darker skin tones who don't wear sunscreen, but don't burn, normally get more hyperpigmentation than those that do wear it.
Whether you burn or not does not matter, you are still accumulating sun damage. (And that could result in skin cancer.) I also don't think she realizes just how much more damaging the sun is compared to most other things that cause cancer. Sure most things have the risk of it, but there are very few things in this world that can cause the amount of damage that the sun does.
I'm truly sorry for what you have gone through. Idk if you're still going through treatment, but if you are I hope your treatment goes well. (And if you're not cancer free yet, I hope you one day will be.)
I think those of us who haven't experienced cancer yet should listen more to those that have.
And yes I know Tati says what she's saying here is just her opinion and you don't have to follow it, and how she's still careful, but this is kind of a dangerous opinion to share. Even if we don't have to follow it, people who aren't as educated are going to listen to her anyway. That sucks tbh.

Especially when my kids had rashes for weeks after using sunscreen two days in a row. However everyone is entitled to their opinion and each family has different health histories. To be honest im on a similar journey so I really appreciate these types of videos.
I removed most seed pils from my doet unless i go out to eat on occasion. I eat Grass fed beef and mostly Keto/Low carb diet. I didn't know about Castor oil being so beneficial. So I will look into that and find out if it will work for me.
Ty again Tati Love ur videos, Ling time viewer here 👋❤

Seed oils create free radicals that cause cellular damage, cellular damage can lend the body to developing autoimmune disorders and neurodegenerative disorders (think Alzheimers and Parkinsons). Free radicals also create an environment for cancer to flourish.
Seed oils are processed with hexane (which is a chemical solvent used in varnish and glue) to make it more shelf-stable, otherwise it would go rancid faster.
But hey, you do you, and stay clueless.

I love this. The sun, the castor oil, such easy things to do that make such a difference. Being outside barefoot is another great one. Spending time in nature or turning your entire backyard into a butterfly garden. That in itself has been so healing for me.

Yes being barefoot and connecting with the earth does wonders. No matter how cold it is, when I visit the ocean, it is a must to be barefoot in sand and water. Also the sun, I love it. ❤

Ooh as an Australian the no sunscreen routine doesn’t make me want to throw rocks it makes me want to carry you out of the metaphorical UV meteor shower!!! UVA radiation doesn’t cause burning so not burning isn’t an indicator that your skin is coping with your routine.

I do integrative medicine... Western medicine in conjunction with alternative (homeopathic, holistic, functional, ayurvedic, complementary ect) For example I do yoga, massage, tai chi, teas, and, grounding. I try to take the approach of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness as one unit. Im not always great at it and am a work in progress . I feel better and im happier. Tati i love that you aren't putting yourself in a box, always willing to learn and grow. I love that you have reserved the right to change your mind. I think that is a very healthy attitude. I think to live our best life is what everyone is looking for. Loved the video ❤❤

The aloe juice that is made to be ingested DOES NOT cause cancer. The kind of aloe that is right out of the plant or meant specifically for your skin can potentially cause cancer. I see several different oncologists (I am a cancer survivor) and one of them specializes in endocrine cancers (I see him because I have thyroid issues, not thyroid cancer, but it made sense to see him because most of my docs are at the same cancer center), he recommends drinking aloe vera juice to help with my GERD. It works great. And he says that it does not cause cancer. I trust him.
