I think I’ve went in the opposite direction with sun protection. Never wore sunscreen for most of my life because I don’t tend to burn. However, when I learned that a tan itself is evidence of skin damage, that gave me pause. Now I wear sunscreen daily, rain or shine, and my skin is looking much improved overall. Protecting your skin from the sun doesn’t mean fearing it.
Absolutely right! A tan itself is skin damage. Every morning I slather on the sunblock, and have done since I was a teenager and read for the first time in a magazine about photo aging. It had two pictures that compared a guy who worked outside, and a monk in a monastery, both the same age. I guess you know how their skin looked - one was like leather and the other smooth. It made such an impression on me! Aside from that, I don't know why people tell Tati what she "should" do - it's her life!
She never said do not wear sunscreen, she uses it on her face- non nano zinc oxide is a safe sunscreen, but avobenzone is harmful-and most people spray it all over, also when you stop eating seed oils you have a better relationship with the sun, spend some time researching what she is talking about.
I’m not throwing rocks, but when you’ve had chunks of your skin cut out from melanoma, you’ll be more careful. I am days away from 5 years since my melanoma diagnosis, and when you’ve begged god to let you live to see your child graduate, it changes your perspective. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are very safe sunscreens.
THANK YOU for sharing this. She mentioned she doesn't burn, and I think a lot of people have the idea that if they are not burning, they are not getting sun damage, but that is not true. That's why darker skin tones who don't wear sunscreen, but don't burn, normally get more hyperpigmentation than those that do wear it. Whether you burn or not does not matter, you are still accumulating sun damage. (And that could result in skin cancer.) I also don't think she realizes just how much more damaging the sun is compared to most other things that cause cancer. Sure most things have the risk of it, but there are very few things in this world that can cause the amount of damage that the sun does. I'm truly sorry for what you have gone through. Idk if you're still going through treatment, but if you are I hope your treatment goes well. (And if you're not cancer free yet, I hope you one day will be.) I think those of us who haven't experienced cancer yet should listen more to those that have. And yes I know Tati says what she's saying here is just her opinion and you don't have to follow it, and how she's still careful, but this is kind of a dangerous opinion to share. Even if we don't have to follow it, people who aren't as educated are going to listen to her anyway. That sucks tbh.
Hey Tati think ur fab but spf is a must. As someone who has seen the effects of skin cancer I really feel it’s so important. All for natural but nothing wrong with protecting ur skin
It’s all about balance. She isn’t recommending to sit in the sun for hours. 20 min of direct morning sun is not going to harm you. That’s all she sad. Also she said you do what your comfortable with. I think she was very fair in sharing what SHE does and speaking from HER point of view.
@@brianaozboyaci2330appreciate ur point of view but spf is a must even if the sun isn’t shining. When u see effects of skin cancer u would agree I’m sure
@@amykelly8319 again it’s about balance. If I am out for longer periods of time, yes sun or not it’s good to be careful. But I respectfully disagree that it is a must for 20 min of morning sun. Especially when my kids had rashes for weeks after using sunscreen two days in a row. However everyone is entitled to their opinion and each family has different health histories. Which is why I said that i think she prefaced it well, it wasn’t misleading and people need to just think and own their decisions for their family and I think everyone can be fine.
Not burning is great, doesn’t mean your skin isn’t been damaged by the sun. You still tan wearing sunscreen, you are just protecting your skin from being damaged when using sunscreen.

This might be my favorite Tati video of all time. Just the way you break down how to “deepen into the stretch” is so inspiring. I feel like I need to screen record that “speech” and send it to my favorite people. Also, I’ve been watching your videos for so many years and I literally barely wear make up but you’re so relaxing and inspiring to me. I agree with you about enjoying the sunshine. Diet is the MOST important thing when it comes to tolerating the sun without forming any kind of skin cancer. My neighbor douses herself in sunscreen, rarely goes out into direct sunlight, and just had another melanoma removed. She drinks alcohol every single day and consumes seed oils and processed carbs and even her dermatologist told her that her diet is the problem. I have really long hair and have to use shampoo and conditioner which is a struggle to find things that work but aren't laden w fake fragrances, etc. Your message overall of listening to your body, being curious and asking questions/seeking answers is a wonderful one! :)
In regards to the sun thing. My GP (doctor) here in Australia told me to sit in the sun for 5-10 minutes a day. I have low vit D levels and he told me to do this, obviously with a hat on and not during the hottest part of the day. But it has helped a lot with anxiety and moods. If I’m going to be spending more than 10 minutes in the sun with the UV 3 or above, then I need sunscreen.
Respectfully and with kindness! The ingredients in your skincare/makeup/SPF products do not mess with your DNA. There is no reliable scientific research that says anything of the sort. Again I say this with kindness and respect.
❤❤❤I am mostly seed oil free but chips are still a weakness. I live in China and the women here in general are very good about avoiding the sun by using hats, visors and parasols and UV protection jackets. Many have beautiful skin but vitamin D deficiency is a real thing here. I have read a study that 15 minutes of sun without sunscreen a day helps with vitamin D absorption. I think being balanced is the key and avoiding extremes. Love you Tati ❤
I’ve been watching for a while but hadn’t subscribed until today. This video was the push I needed. Appreciate your views-especially regarding more holistic ways of thinking and living.

@@RinaValentina but castor oil is also processed. On the other hand, you can also buy those seed oils unprocessed, called "first pressed" or "virgin" or "cold pressed" or "raw." But they're all still seed oils, as is castor oil. I'm still confused.
As someone who has been battling Stage 3 Lymphatic Melanoma, gone through 16mo of chemo, and an array of treatments - My diagnosis had nothing to do with sun exposure, and all to do with genetic coding. I am naturally a darker gal, with Oki (Japanese) background - I have never burned & love the outdoors - the #1 recommendation I’d say for preventing melanoma is just to stay on top of your skin checks! Fuel your body, be kind with the ingredients you use, and be friends with your Derm! The last thing we all need is to isolate ourselves inside because we are scared of the sun ☀️
I think you’re just the best!! Hearing how confident you have become and growing as a woman, is so damn inspiring! Doing what you love and feeling great is what matters the most!! Good for you Tati👏👏You are on your A game and it’s amazing❤

Seed oils create free radicals that cause cellular damage, cellular damage can lend the body to developing autoimmune disorders and neurodegenerative disorders (think Alzheimers and Parkinsons). Free radicals also create an environment for cancer to flourish. Seed oils are processed with hexane (which is a chemical solvent used in varnish and glue) to make it more shelf-stable, otherwise it would go rancid faster. But hey, you do you, and stay clueless.
I love this. The sun, the castor oil, such easy things to do that make such a difference. Being outside barefoot is another great one. Spending time in nature or turning your entire backyard into a butterfly garden. That in itself has been so healing for me.
Yes being barefoot and connecting with the earth does wonders. No matter how cold it is, when I visit the ocean, it is a must to be barefoot in sand and water. Also the sun, I love it. ❤
More videos like this!! My favorite video from you so far. All the band aid things out there will not make us grow healthier. I want to get into the holistic things as well. Already doing the castor oil and no sunscreen but there's still so much more to do.
Ooh as an Australian the no sunscreen routine doesn’t make me want to throw rocks it makes me want to carry you out of the metaphorical UV meteor shower!!! UVA radiation doesn’t cause burning so not burning isn’t an indicator that your skin is coping with your routine.

The aloe juice that is made to be ingested DOES NOT cause cancer. The kind of aloe that is right out of the plant or meant specifically for your skin can potentially cause cancer. I see several different oncologists (I am a cancer survivor) and one of them specializes in endocrine cancers (I see him because I have thyroid issues, not thyroid cancer, but it made sense to see him because most of my docs are at the same cancer center), he recommends drinking aloe vera juice to help with my GERD. If I’m going to be spending more than 10 minutes in the sun with the UV 3 or above, then I need sunscreen.
You don’t need sunscreen
Ditch the toxic seed oils ☠️
The green primer from wet n wild is amazing too, it cancels out the redness beautifully and gives a oretty glow
I just bought it. I have been looking to try a green primer so thanks for your comment. I wasn't sure which one to get
Oh I need to try that!!
Hey Tati, I like the chats GRWM, share your stories, your finds, your knowledge on anything. Combine the makeup with fashion with decor with shopping with day outs with get to know me ask me etc. You look great 👍
One thing I'm confused about - you said you stopped using seed oils, but castor oil is also a seed oil.
I wondered the same! Is it only certain seed oils?🤔
Processed seed oils like canola oil, soybean oil, vegetable oil ☠️
I love how you truthfully voiced your opinions for what works for you, yet people in these comments still want to shame some of those opinions. It makes no sense at all, because we ALL have opinions, and they will differ. There’s no sense in shaming anybody’s opinions, because we are all individuals and capable of making our own decisions for ourselves. Thank you for being so open, and I truly have learned so much from you over the years! Keep on keeping on, and stay true to you, because you are beautiful and unique as we all are 💕
Love your hair!! Looks so amazing, especially for fall ❤
Also yes I get the issue with shape wear, I can’t wear them any more. I also have outfits that are only comfortable depending on where I am in my cycle 😂
Totally understand that....shapewear is awesome, but man, getting it on and off is like.... mind blowing. 😂😂😂
She literally says that's what works for her and you don't need to follow her at all! You do whatever tf you want so does she and everyone. 🙄🙄
your comment about change is so true. i tell my family "i'll live a million lifetimes today" and it's so glad to hear someone else say the same thing! thanks for that ☀ "where can i deepen my stretch" YESSS
Hopefully not a stupid question, but when using beef tallot or coconut oil on your body, how do you avoid oil stains on clothes, bedding, etc??
Btw, love the chit chat content!
I am not afraid of the sunshine either with the right protection, we need it!
If anyone has cysts/lumps in their breasts, jfc please go to the doctor instead of just slapping castor oil on it! Feel free to put castor oil on it as well if you want, but please see a healthcare professional.
She didn’t say it would cure it. There’s lots of foods/ingredients that aid or help the body. She was just sharing that. Like how some foods are more nourishing to people who are anemic.
Girl…. I agree we need a balance but wearing sunscreen every day is not only needed, it’s anti aging…. I’m not on this train with you but you do you, boo. I just think it’s irresponsible for someone with a large account to even put that info out… even with the preface that it’s “your life”.❤
You’ve been lied to
@@RinaValentina Do you know anyone who's battled or succumbed to skin cancer? Why would you believe some "beauty guru?" Does that seem intelligent, to you?
@@alittleteacup Why do you assume I’m “believing” Tati when I’ve already known sunscreen is extremely toxic for years and yes my Aunt died from skin cancer many years ago from a mole on her back which was kept covered whenever she was out, it wasn’t the sun. 🌞
it's her channel and she can say what she wants. she said multiple times to do your own research and do what works for you. i can't believe you are shaming someone for saying they like spending time in the SUN. it's not like she's promoting a pharmacuetical.
@@badpuns👍
Our ancestors are cringing
at these people right now 🤦🏼♀️
I work in dermatology and research shows that both a tan and a burn cause sun damage!! Redness is not the only indication of sun damage! Please don’t lay out to tan 😭😭
Also, mineral sunblocks are AMAZING. They have no chemicals and are not absorbed into the skin but instead provide a physical barrier 🎉
Mineral sunscreens still contain chemicals just not the same as chemical sunscreens. Overall I like your message
As an older woman, it is so good to see the change in you.❤
Probably one of my favorite videos you’ve ever done!! MORE OF THIS 🙌🏼
Lol I don’t follow my gut when it comes to health, I listen to health professionals.
What booster are you on now
Am nurse and please wear ur sunscreen protect your self better safe than sorry .
How many boosters
do you recommend lol
Love these videos. I have loved you more since you moved to Texas than anytime before. You are so much more relatable and I'm here for it. Like on a video not too long ago you talked about Macarons and I literally got in my car and drove 60 miles to Louisville KY just to get cookies but man they were so worth it. I love the videos where we're just hanging out!!!
To be honest im on a similar journey so I really appreciate these types of videos.
I removed most seed pils from my doet unless i go out to eat on occasion. I eat Grass fed beef and mostly Keto/Low carb diet. I didn't know about Castor oil being so beneficial. So I will look into that and find out if it will work for me.
Ty again Tati Love ur videos, Ling time viewer here 👋❤
Yes to the careful sun worshiping, and I’m a fair haired freckled face gal AND yes to the daily evolution and wellness❤
I put aloe in my smoothies. The actual piece of aloe of course I cut the green leaf off of it but I feel like it really helps me.
she lost me with the removing seed oil is why i don’t burn anymore 😂😂
Seed oils create free radicals that cause cellular damage, cellular damage can lend the body to developing autoimmune disorders and neurodegenerative disorders (think Alzheimers and Parkinsons). Free radicals also create an environment for cancer to flourish.
Seed oils are processed with hexane (which is a chemical solvent used in varnish and glue) to make it more shelf-stable, otherwise it would go rancid faster.
But hey, you do you, and stay clueless.
seed oils are poison
I love this. The sun, the castor oil, such easy things to do that make such a difference. Being outside barefoot is another great one. Spending time in nature or turning your entire backyard into a butterfly garden. That in itself has been so healing for me.
Yes being barefoot and connecting with the earth does wonders. No matter how cold it is, when I visit the ocean, it is a must to be barefoot in sand and water. Also the sun, I love it. ❤
BARBARA O’Neal Lectures on Castor oil?!?! She is Amazing!!!! Also her natural remedies using garlic, onion, potato, cayenne pepper etc ❤️
Tati: the Gwyneth Paltrow of RUclips 😂
No, that woman is actually crazy 😂
What a reach
Tati, please don't go there
Tati!!! I love your insight. What if you did a video every now and then on the newest health things you are doing? I would watch it.
I love this video. I would like to see more health and wellness videos from you.
More videos like this!! My favorite video from you so far. All the band aid things out there will not make us grow healthier. I want to get into the holistic things as well. Already doing the castor oil and no sunscreen but there's still so much more to do.
Using castor oil daily. Loving it. Makes the skin baby soft. Helps with wrinkles and sleep!
I drank Aloe Juice after you recommended it & I loved it!! So hydrating although it tastes like pool water 😂
Absolutely love this! Would love to hear more about what exactly you eat for snacks and meals. This is so helpful. I’m on a clean journey!
Ooh as an Australian the no sunscreen routine doesn’t make me want to throw rocks it makes me want to carry you out of the metaphorical UV meteor shower!!! UVA radiation doesn’t cause burning so not burning isn’t an indicator that your skin is coping with your routine.
YES to no phone!!!
Girl!!! How did you become so relatable! 😂 yes!!!
I do integrative medicine... Western medicine in conjunction with alternative (homeopathic, holistic, functional, ayurvedic, complementary ect) For example I do yoga, massage, tai chi, teas, and, grounding. I try to take the approach of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness as one unit. Im not always great at it and am a work in progress . I feel better and im happier. Tati i love that you aren't putting yourself in a box, always willing to learn and grow. I love that you have reserved the right to change your mind. I think that is a very healthy attitude. I think to live our best life is what everyone is looking for. Loved the video ❤❤
always here for your realness & honesty!!
Thank you 😎✨
I’m getting into using castor oil too. I didn’t know it could do all those things! Thanks Tati 😊
Tati, where has this content been?! I want more! I just love your balanced outlook on everything in the “beauty space” and all your knowledge!!!! The beauty community needs more of this and you are somehow inside my brain!!! I would definitely love more of this content:) love you & I hope you keep speaking about these things ♥️
It works great. And he says that it does not cause cancer. I trust him.
Hi Tati! Do you have a link to the coconut soap that you use??
Oh wow she really went full Gwyneth on us 😂
Very interesting video/topics, loved listening to it while getting makeup ready. Also loved the talk about “deepen the stretch” I will try to apply that ❤️ love your channel for years!
Tati!! Yes!! Such a great start to the week!
LOVE your positivity in this video! Been a subscriber for years. You do you Tati, your doing something right you look gorgeous! And God Bless
Love, love, love your shapewear story! And, "Deepen the Stretch" is great advice.
Can we get a snack cabinet or pantry video??? I need to know the good snacks
Yeah, let’s have a what’s in my fridge & pantry video, Tati!
I tried the Honey Mamas bars from WF after your recommendation and wow is it good, with honey instead of refined sugar and none of the bad ingredients 😍🍯 👍
LOVED this video. I’ve been on a similar journey of learning and would love more videos like this!!!
Me too, Tati. No seed oils = no burning on my fair skin. (definitely burned when I ate foods with seed oils).
I have loved using organic cold pressed coconut oil as a make remover , shaving cream, body moisturizer, frizz tamer , and hair mask for 10 years .
Better than all the random chemicals going in and cheapn
I completely agree with you Tati, everything causes cancer now, and who knows why! But I will try do what I can to stay healthy while still enjoying life. Also yes, not being strapped to a phone all the time is really good. To many people now are glued to their phone and all the crap that comes with it.
Tati, another Aquarian here. I also have some quirks. I completely agree about the sun! I rarely burn and am much more aware of seed oils. ☀️
I would be totally OK if all your videos are like this.
I am a sun lover as well, and it’s easy to be in Tx! I love laying out by the pool in summertime and I love being in the sun (and heat) in general. If I pay for it later in life that’s my life well lived. ❤
I freaking LOVE your advice.... and have used many tips which improved my health and makeup game. So thank you friend!!
I enjoy the sun. Good vitamin d production and it helps my mood! SPF always but nature helps me!
Ok so I just have to say I haven’t been able to use shape wear like ever! And since getting Crohn’s disease almost 20 years ago I definitely can’t put myself through that kind of pain for any reason at all lol.
Love you Tati, but I can’t with the sun exposure
Hi Tati, I would love love love to see your take on a 80´s makup look, if you ever feel like it's something you'll like to try.
More castor oil hacks please. Love the video
I just want to keep hitting the 👍 over and over and over!! Where are a few of your fav places to get wellness info? You are so inspiring! And I'd love to see what inspires you! ❤️❣️❤️
This is the video i wanted to push me to pay more attention to my health and diet and change my self to how i like it and feel mentally good!! More of this video Tati!! Thank you so much ❤
Tati, I agree. Sun, in moderation, is good for us. Period.
