A nice sounding commercial, the soft skills were already being taught and there are not as important than real content, at least not at this stage of their lives, typically taught at home by mom and dad. What matters is how is it taught? At what expense and what did schools have to remove to fit this in? This is the core of the issue

Nope its CRT wrapped in a cutesy term. Our schools just implemented it thru Move This World and it is creepy and uncomfortable and my children are now homeschooled.
@@tiny.terrorist.negotiator SEL has NOTHING to do with CRT. CRT isn't even taught in grade schools. CRT is a college-level philosophy class regarding race and ethnicity.
Yes, and no. SEL is more of just learning how to regulate one's emotions and be a productive member of society while interacting safely and effectively with other people while also recognizing one's own needs and abilities.
