I think i have too. Even notice the timing chain tensioner , after about 18 years it will leak , but cheap and easy to fix.
Thanks this helped a lot. Going to fix it tomorrow. Had the same problem with oil on the belt and the alternator.
Great.
You may want to clean off the oil on the Alternator before the new belt.
@@SonnyIbibo yeah I has kinda worried about that its in the alternator windings
I have a parts cleaner gonna dunk the whole valve cover
The power steering went out kinda. Chocking that up to the belt slipping and not running the pump properly
It is a good idea to stop the oil leak and clean the entire oil stain properly before the new belt.
Oil leak messes up the engine bay and can cause other components like alternator to fail🙁
You missed the rtv at the three way joint between the valve cover and timing cover.
Would oil in the spark plug hole cause it to misfire above 3K revs thank you for your video it was very helpful.
Absolutely
My engine is also wet, I think I can fix t my self after watching video.
I think you can.
Try it & give us feedback😊
What is the cause of oil leaking into my coils and affects my spug plugs?
Faulty oil seals
I thought there was like a special glue that you put on the cover before installing the new gasket ...
rtv sealants will do
Try changing your oil at regular intervals... That engine grim is disgusting... I've got 275,000 miles on my corolla & the engine is still clean on the inside...
Great advice👍
Change mine every 3000, only 200,000k, never had the valve cover off, no idea what it looks like inside. Granted, there are people that would say "if you use Royal Purple synthetic 5/30, that engine is destroyed! Burn the car now!" But, ive got my moneys worth if it shits the bed tomorrow.
I change every 2k miles unlike what they say 3k miles
yeah, I changed my valve cover gasket yesterday and it was noticeably lighter in color......the cams, sprockets, etc. I guess regular oil changes do make a difference
the engine cover nut on the driver's side---what a terrible design, you can easily end up removing the bolt underneath it which is to the valve cover
How much cost to repair?
Cost of gasket is about $17
It all labor so if you do it yourself....
