  • This is a great blue flow trail in the Garbanzo region of Whistler Mountain Bike Park. It is a really fun trail for all levels, with some good jumps for progressing into the black jump lines. It also intersects with a ton of other trails along the way, so a good highway to branch into some black + double-black tech trails.

Never seen Blue Velvet so smooth. Sadly can't make it up there this summer, but will get a few Sun Peaks and Revelstoke days in at the beginning of August.

Great video edits! I've been watching your video uploads. You style and speed is a lot like mine. I've been racing DH since 2004. And I've still never been out Whistler yet. I live out on the East Coast. Very close to Highland Mountain Bike Park. I do have to ask how your not cussing out all these riders hanging out in the middle of all the trail entrances? That stuff drives me nuts.

Thank you! Ah yeah… fortunately it doesn’t happen too often so I don’t mind it. I just go a little faster to get them sweating 😏

Nice vid! How are the braking bumps? Love the trail but it was pretty tore up at the end of last season.

Thanks! They’re not too bad on most of Blue Velvet - a few spots here & there. Some of the other Garbanzo trails are beat up though… Freight train is rough right now

@@trailswithtk I was there a couple weeks ago riding my Rocky Mountain Instinct BC 160/155 travel bike. I rode a lot for 2 days but by the end of first day and into second day, my wrists were getting too sore for high speed flow trails. It was cool because plenty of other stuff to ride. TK, I notice that you don't stop a lot to rest. I was having to stop to rest my wrists all the time. And I was thinking that I should have rented a DH bike. Do you know how much better the 200+ travel is easier on the wrist for those brake bumps?

@@dannyslea I think the DH bike definitely makes for a cushier ride than trail bike. I would definitely rent one and see how it feels. But when those braking bumps are bad, it's rough on a DH too.
