I freaking love your travel stories. So easy to relate to as an African who loves travelling. You make us want to see this world that you present so well. Thank you Raj and keep it up
Children might like it as well. AND by the way, In Charleroi (other big belgian city) for instance they have many statues of comic strip heroes everywhere in the city too.
just going for four days to London and was hesitating to spend a night in Brussels , now after your video im certainly taking that train , keep it up mate !!
P.s. Manneken Pis (Dutch for 'Little Pissing Man'; Dutch: [ˌmɑnəkə(m) ˈpɪs] (listen)) is a landmark[1] 55.5 cm (21.9 in)[a] bronze fountain sculpture in central Brussels, Belgium, depicting a puer mingens; a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. Though its existence is attested as early as the mid-15th century,[2] it was redesigned by the Brabantine sculptor Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1618 or 1619.
If you leave the touristic center, you'll come across pretty neighborhoods, a ton of authentic art nouveau houses and good restaurants/bars. Next time, definitely visit other cities like Durbuy, Bruges or Ghent! I'm sure you'll love it :) ...
The answer to your question is "yes" but make sure you have a sufficient budget. I guess you skipped the Atomium not so much because of lack of time but because you saw the entrance price (16€). Though there are ways to make things cheaper : taking a day or other pass for public transport, avoid tourist traps, etc ...
Damned 16 euros ! it is not worth that price ! Brussels sometimes dreams it is Paris ! Both cities are becoming so unworthy nowadays. It becomes dirty and stinky. You aren't safe in any of both cities. Avoid those cities, visit other Belgian cities like Namur, Dinant, Ghent ( written without H in Flanders), ANtwerp, Liège, Brugge ( in french and English written Bruges), ....You will much more discover true Belgium without the incnveniences of the capital
Perfect time to come, everthing still open (lot of shops are closed in Jully) A few tips?: if you want to taste beer, dont miss 1: The "Lambic"(flat beer delicious) at "La Becasse", the "chevalier (glass of 1 liter) at "Le corbeau noir" and for the others, privilege monk beer... 2: restaurants "La quicaillerie", "La manufacture" dishes: Mossels fries, "steack fries", "americain préparé fries" (Yes I just love the americain...with fries hi hi )"boulettes de Liège" they all good, but dont go too touristic, dont hesitate to ask people, we all speak english and we all open mind... 3: street food everywhere and dont forget to try "stoofvlees sauce" with your fries ,a must! Dont ask waffels as a tourist just ask "gauffre de Liège" the real one, no chocolate no creme, nothing, juste Warm with pearls of sugar or "gauffre de bruxelles" a little bit suger a little bit creme and eventualy fresh strauberrys. Now you're ready to go! 😉
I really liked this video. I might visit Brussels in June 2023, so I am researching and I find your video helpful. Is the first half of June a good time to visit this city?
In June there is a fair chance to get good weather. Businesses are all still open as usual before possible closure during the summer holidays in July and August.
Weather in Belgium is like a lottery, if you lucky, you will have 25°c if not, you can have 15°c raining but it doesn't change anything now tips: if you want to taste beer, dont miss 1: The "Lambic"(flat beer delicious) at "La Becasse", the "chevalier (glass of 1 liter) at "Le corbeau noir" and for the others, privilege monk beer... 2: restaurants "La quicaillerie", "La manufacture" dishes: Mossels fries, "steack fries", "americain préparé fries" "boulettes de Liège" they all good, but dont go too touristic, dont hesitate to ask people, we all speak english and we all open mind... 3: street food everywhere and dont forget to try "stoofvlees sauce" with your fries ,a must! @@thierryroberfroid9400 Thank you very much, that's a lot of information you have given me. To try out all the things you have recommended I will have to make a second trip to Belgium some time in the future. I would definitely like to try out the waffles or rather "gauffre de Liège". I want to know what is special about the Belgian waffles, I am sure they must be yummy! I must tell that here in India (where I live) there is a firm which has a chain of waffle outlets, they also sell other things as well like ice-creams, coffee, etc.. Interestingly this firm is called The Belgian Waffle Co, I wonder how Belgian are there waffles; maybe I should try them out. They have outlets all over India.
@@AroopBoseYeah, a small country but so mutch to do and to see, I tasted the "belgian waffles" at several cities like Warshaw, Dublin, Berlin, Paris, they're not bad, but it's never the same as in Belgium and it's true even more for fries , you will see, nothing to compair Brussels have a real secret for fries... Bon voyage!
LOL whoa Raj! Stopping watching that boy pee! LOL also, to pay to pee in a washroom is insidious. LOL but such a beautiful place. Gosh. And the FOOD! Ugh! The comic murals is awesome. I do believe the 3D glasses portraits on the canale is a marketing thing. I have seen those portraits before in London so that is why I believe its a promo thing.
The woman sitting there has to keep the toilets clean at all times and she uses the customers' money to buy cleaning products. A little money in exchange for clean and safe toilets. Because she acts as a watchdog too.
Hi, I found your video while researching for a trip to Brussels and found it quite informative. Thought of asking a few questions, did you get a pass to travel on train and will it be worth? If not then where can I buy single ticket?
As he said, public transportation can be expensive but they have cards with 10 travels that cost less per travel. I think there is also a one day card you can make as many travel as you want but for... one day . The public transportaion company in Brussels is called STIB. Maybe you could find some information on their website
If I found myself in a Belgian or Swiss chocolate shop, my self restraint and self control would come from my wallet humbling me 😅. I love the vibe of this vid
@@AdventureSingh You'll find cheaper but still good Belgian chocolate and waffles in shops and supermarkets. For example Côte d'Or (for chocolate) and Lotus (for waffles and biscuits of all sorts).
