@@mohamedabdelkader8665 🙌🏼 we would love to! Part of our family is from Fiji 🇫🇯 it would be incredible to visit again and create some beautiful videos 🏝
Thanks Charlotte and Cory, another jam packed vlog 😄 Been contemplating visiting Brussels for the Christmas markets, so appreciate all the recommendations and hotel tip helpful too ❤️
I loved your Cornwall videos, they were very helpful for our trip a few weeks ago. Our next trip is Brussles so this video came at the perfect time. Thank you for all the tips 😊
Hey guys, as someone who loves travelling, your videos are a great watch! Going to Paris / Brussels next month via the Eurostar so these video’s have been very good to see.
Perfect timing! You’re not the first one to tell us that, seems like a lot of people are taking the Eurostar over in the next couple of months 😁 maybe it’s going to be cheaper to live in European hotels than it is to pay utilities in the UK?? 🤷🏼♂️ 😅
hey guys! the beer they made to drink in the middle ages was not as strong as what we drink today. it mostly qualified as light ale with around 0.5 - 1 percent alcohol. they also ate a lot of stews with water that was boiled and there were plenty ppl also drinking water as well! but true water was not drank as much as we do today.
Thanks for your info! It’s very interesting isn’t it? We saw a documentary the other day about the history of bottled water and it’s amazing how much is consumed every year!! People don’t like tap water / don’t trust their governments very much
2:24 On August 13 to 15 1695 a French bombardement destroyed large parts of the city, including the Grand Place. That's why there are almost no older buildings.
@@cjexplores Any reputable history of the building will tell you the true story. That architect suicide story has been peddled to tourists since I was a small child if not before. The idea that the architect didn't notice the different lengths of the wings is ludicrous. The Gothic town hall was built in the fifteenth century, in three stages: the left wing and the base of the tower were built from 1401 to 1421 to replace the old house of aldermen: the architects were Jacques van Thienen (pupil of the Hainaut Jean d'Oisy, founder of Brabant Gothic), the Burgundian Jean Bornoy and G. Vander Broecke1; the right wing, whose first stone was laid by Charles the Bold, was built from 1444 to 1449 and would be the work of Guillaume de Vogel1 who was the architect of the city of Brussels in 1452 and who was the author of the Magna Aula of the palace of Philip the Good; the upper part and spire of the tower whose construction was ensured by Jean van Ruysbroeck from 1449 to 14551. The asymmetry is one of the reasons the the building is so beautiful. A good way to appreciate that is to look at Vienna's town hall, it's based on the Brussels townhall but it is completely symmetrical and is no way as striking.
@@richardharris8867 wow, thanks for the history class Rich! It’s crazy they tell that story if it’s completely made up 😂 we’ll be sure to check out the Vienna town hall next time we’re in town!
Beef fat is the traditional way. Though many places will use cheaper and (sometimes) healthier plant based oils for frying. However, nobody goes to a frituur/friterie and asks for vegan. The owner could point to the nearest grassfield.
@@nickfriel6840 no worries Nick. This is nearly a year old and we have decided to separate our travels from the vegan stuff. Thanks for the foresight 🙌🏼

Yes! We learnt this on our tour. So fascinating. Thanks for sharing 🙌🏼❤️😊
No the architect did not throw himself off the building. The building was built in three parts over 140 years and was not meant to be symmetrical.
