    Directions:
    1. Place your Gel printing pate on a peice of paper, this will keep your table clean. Squairt a couple dabs of acrylic paint on the pate and spread out with a brayer.
    2. There are many ways to make an impression on the plate: You can press a stencil on the plate, you can press an embossed peice pf paper on the plate, you can use found objects like mesh bags, leaves or string to make a cool impression too. I like to pull one print with the objects still on the plate and another after you have removed the stencil. You can also draw on the plate with foam and silicon tools. Just be sure not to use sharp objects as they can scratch the plate.
    3. Press paper on the plate, rub the back of the paper to ensure the paper completely contacts the plate and remove and set aside to dry.
You can layer as many prints as you like for intersting effects!
    4. When you are done be sure to clean your gelli plate, brayer and other tools with soapy water and let dry before storing. I recommend you save the packaging that comes with your Gelli Arts (TM) printing plate for storage.
Embellish your printed cards as desired!

In a post-Christmas anxious frenzy, I filled an online shopping cart with craft supplies this morning before my early shift back from holidays. Then I was like no.. (that's fine if someone wants to do that, but I was filling a void with money I do not have lol!) and came to my fave channel. It always renews my goal to use what I have and have fun doing it. Love all your current stuff, but love coming back to the older stuff, too. Happy New Year!! Thank you for all you do.

I loved this video! It wasn't too long because you did so many techniques, it made it so interesting. I bought a Gel Plate years ago and never took it out of the package, but I'm digging it out tomorrow and hoping it's still good. Thank you for your generosity and your time. It's very much appreciated! Susie in Fl

Thank you. I did not think water colour would stay on top of an acrylic jelly print. I did not think of putting paint on a stamp. Best of all I love the cogs. The blue cog paper I think it's embossed, it's outstanding. I would want to send it to everyone maybe with just 1 dragon fly stuck in a corner so not to cover the perfection of the blue embossed cogs. Wonderful❤

Great video Lindsay! 😁 This was perfect for Sunday morning, drinking coffee while hanging out outside...which is what I've been doing. 😉 The star cards & dragonflies came out awesome. I think I have the same pearlex set you have. I bought it in 2009 & still haven't used them. 😲 This was a great reminder & the creative wheels started turning. I have the perfect pearls set you mentioned too. I used those on my Valentine day card video. I just got some brusho too, so I really need to get playing...lol TFS!! 😃

I saw the notification for this and I looked at my daughter. She has enjoyed gelli printing in the past. Southern VA is humid and all but 1 of my home made plates semi melted, and got weird. I will be ordering a plate.
I chose a different project today. we used shaving cream. I started doing that a year or two ago, after watching one of your videos. I read your post where you discussed using cards instead of having a ton of prints to forget about. Whole sheets of paper go in a pile, but if I cut it ahead of time the papers go in a photo box with card bases. Those get used. I pulled out my 12x18 white sulphite paper and my scoreboard and cut A2 size pieces. I have a few that are smaller but I will use those too. My daughter and I had a blast with the Dick Blick liquid watercolors that were bought about 2.5 years ago after I watched your video.
That was all before I actually watched this video. 24 backgrounds done because the title and blog post inspired me!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the look of this on the embossed cardstock!!!!!!!! I will definitely be using some gelli printing on upcoming cards. I am not very deep into the video. I am hoping I get an idea for some USO cards. Thank you for all the inspiration! !!! I also want to thank you for the liquid watercolors for sprays video. I received a 2 ounce bottle of spray as a free gift with an order. It was $6.99 (per the tag on it) for a 2 ounce bottle. I would have a hard time letting my daughter play with my sprays if I paid that price. She overdoes it with the spraying. She will always mentally be in the 5 to 7 age range. I get to either be grumpy and correct her A LOT, or I get to be okay with wasted product and see how happy she is. My daughter isn't expected to live to see 40. Thank you for reccomending something that I can let her enjoy. I know some people will say that I should teach her better. I tried. I then decided to ENJOY crafting with her, and letting her be happy and excited. Because I add water to the spray bottles the 8 ounce bottles of colors have lasted! I will be replacing bottles this summer. You should see the joy in my daughter's face when she is "spray painting "!
I see gelli printing in our near future. I appreciate you so much!!!!!!

I enjoy watching u. I have Pearl Ex that I haven't used in years!! Still love the effect so think I have to start using it again. I too use embossed cardstock to make prints on Gelli plate. But I use The cardstock as backgrounds for my cards.
I quit keeping scraps of paper unless they r large. They were just making clutter in my room. I donate them to a grade school. My Bristol scraps have to be ATC size to keep. Keep crafting.

I made diy gelli plate right after watching your former tutorial on gelli printing and we did it with kids (all 3 of them loved it). I haven't even seen gelli plates in stores where i live and also making my own is cheaper:).
I got some interesting thick plastic sheets similar to this plate from my dad when he was decluttering and tried those and though they are much firmer they still work perfectly!
Just an idea if somebody has any similar stuff - it might be useful. His was some sample he did when trying new materials (he he's an engineer).

Hey girl, just wanted to share a couple of tips for what I do to get the most out of your paint and your space. I always print the backs of my stencils when I remove them, that usually turns out nicely and just like the pulled prints, you can just layer them on as much as you want. Also, for the issue of having printed paper all over the place. I keep stacks of cut wax paper beside me and just lay them down on top of each other with the wax paper. Even when they are wet. They generally dry so fast that I don't have much problem with the wax paper sticking to the paints. BTW, we are very similar tastes because I've got almost all the same stencils you have. I do almost always use at least 1 metallic color with each color palette as I just love that shimmer on EVERYTHING. haha Also, as far as not knowing what to do with your prints. I use the cheapie paper, sometimes copy paper, sometimes sketch pads from the DT but anyway I do whole sheets as I have a 9x13 plate and then I cut up into a2 size for sheets that are really nice all over that I like a lot and the others, I keep one of those 12x12 scrapbook paper caess I keep all of my papers in and I use them for die cutting all the time. I love them so much. ALso, I use them a lot for ripping up into pieces and then decoupage on wine bottles or wooden frames or whatever I want to. Love watching your videos Lin.

What I know about Pearl Ex Pigment Powder, you can heat set it like embossing, so apparently. I have tried it and it seemed to have given it more of a sheen.
What I also tried was mix them with gum arabic and they turn into these sheen watercolor palette. I will try them with Versa Ink the way you did. I found that fantastic!

I have the strathmore watercolor cards, please do a vid with them I am feeling very limited by it since they're water color paper and I can't mat them or make them dimensional. Also I make so many embellishments too and I find that I don't use them as much as I'd like. Love this long vid!!!

Hey Lindsay....thanks for yet another awesome educational tutorial on gel printing. I also checked out the video you referenced, ie embossing on Inkjet Acetate, in which you created a faux stained glass card...it was so beautiful and was something I've always wanted to know so now I can create my own acetate images instead of purchasing the gorgeous gold embossed Heidi Swapp acetate images. Another great chapter (or shall I say 2, one on Gel Printing and another on Acetate embossed images) to add to my "Lindsay Encyclopedia" LOL! So appreciate it Lindsay and until next time...

metallic paint usually had some organic matter that rots and molds. they use fish scales to achieve that pearly, iridescent shimmer. kinda gross but then so is ox gall😉😉😉

You forgot to roll off the braver on another journal, and to print off the excess stencil paint in a journal!
