Hey bud. Your c10 build is exactly what I'm doing right now. I know absolutely nothing about ls engines or turbo and fuel systems. Im doing a 75 k5 2 wheel blazer with a 6ltr and thinking of doing a holly hp and a turbo set up.
My '73 c10 short bed fleet side with a cammed 4.8 and 3k stalled built th350 does rolling burnouts with ease. ....it's just a 220/220 cam stock bottom end......I could only imagine if I add a wuhan war whistle. ........but if I want boost , I have a lsa supercharged nova, cts-v (v2)or my lmm duramax that will shred 37" tires at will..........I love your c10 though other than the grille conversion it looks exactly like mine...........good Content brother........I'm still running factory ecu on the 4.8 because the guy I bought it from had it tuned already to the th350 (3k)stall specs.....he had it in an old jeep look up (jeep cj7 racing ford raptor in sand)on you tube....that's the actual motor that I bought off the guy, even helped him pull it out of the jeep when I bought it.........on the other hand, my supercharged nova has the terminator x max , I have the lq9 bored .030 over to 370" with 64cc ls3 heads for about roughly 11.15:1 compression , I used ls2 pistons with the thinner rings though instead of the lq versions, I'm running a 220/230 cam with a 2.45" upper pulley for roughly 12lbs boost on a good day, but honestly I built the motor in my garage and have only 6500 miles on it so far, I have yet to push It over 5k rpm.....it comes alive and let's you know at 3k rpm and at 4k rpm I'm already doing 110 mph, I really can't push it much further on these busy ca. Sf bay area streets.......too many idiots that don't know how to drive or move out of the way when they see and HEAR a abnoxious muscle car barreling down the fast lane......I can't wait to move from this comiefornia state, the wife actually brought up moving to Alabama in the here near future.....hopefully she isn't talking out of her ass,........I can't wait, we have 4 properties here so what the hell , might as well cash one out and get the hell outta here.......fuck These liberals and their spending sprees and domestic terrorism. .....
Do it....Just Make Sure You Put A Cam In It Before You Start The swap, I'm Running A 4.8 With A 220/220 Cam And This Little Motor With A 3k Stalled and built Th350 Runs Harder Than Some 6.0's..........It's In A '73 C10 Short Bed Fleet Side That Was Originally A 6cyl 3 On The Tree Until Someone Put A Granny Gear 4 on the floor sm465 in it.........I literally pulled that motor and trans the 2nd day I had the truck home and had my 4.8 with a built th350 running a 3k stall in it and running within 1 week, all with spare/leftover parts from my lsa supercharged nova conversion. .......being that my c10 was a 6cyl manual it came from the factory with 3.73 gears, and it's a 12 bolt.......it's a fun lil project truck to replace the last c10 I ls swapped 3 years ago....it was a '68 longbed with a 5.3 that I built in my garage with 4.8 pistons, asa cam, and ls6 heads along with a 3k stalled th350 that I put a shift kit in, that truck hauled ass too.....for the record I put flattop pistons in all my builds so if you happen to be opening up your 5.3 don't just put a cam in it, actually order a set of 4.8 piston for whatever style rods you have gen 3 or 4......mine were gen 3 and the machine shop charged me $100 to swap them onto the pressed rods and to install cam bearings that I supplied. .........trust me flat top pistons on a 5.3 is a very noticeable difference along with a mild cam it's gonna have way more power than an ls1 or even a stock ls2........I regret selling that truck but I got lucky to have came around this new to me '73 c10, plus it's a short bed so I will make much more profit than I did off of the longbed '68.....I even had a '72 longbed 350/th350 truck back before I was financially stable to enjoy the LS swap world. .....I still have one more built l96 in the garage that I put new everything in/on.....with another asa cam and tossed the junk dished pistons in favor of ls2 pistons. ......flattops in everything. ...ftw, but if your not gonna go flat top at the bare minimum at least swap the cam, that alone could make a 30/50/80 hp difference depending on your grind.........just get a sloppy stage 2 cam. ....they seem to be pretty universal. .......oh yeah , and good luck with your c10 build......chevy/gmc makes awesome and affordable trucks....I've owned 10 of them in the past 20 years......my current ones are the '73 ls swapped c10, a 2014 tahoe and a lmm duramax. ......not 1 of those 10 trucks ever let me down!!!!!
@ethankennedykennedy thats incredible! I remember seeing you but tried to be respectful and not do a burnout right there lol. Might be tough to drive around back there with all that land up for sale. If you ever want to come check out the garage let me know I live 2 miles from there
To fix the steering sloppiness (worn rag joint) look up the Jeep XJ steering shaft modification (eliminates rag joint) for square body trucks. Then if that isn't enough I believe Borgeson offers a new quick ratio steering gear for the C10.
@@ictcarguy3162 What a great tip! My 78 C20 LS Conversion drives like a carny ride. Have a new box and rag, but it still sux. And my box leaks! Going to look into the Borgeson. Thank you!
Well I’m also in your neck of the woods I’m in Russellville I have a 85 short bed that I want to put a turbo 5.3 in and after watching this I’m decided
Cool truck. I always like your enthusiasm. I miss your C5 though. After all the busted knuckles and sweat you put into that car, Cletus and crew are beating the snot out of that poor car. Do you think you'll ever build another Corvette ? You've got a great "shop truck" there. Take care. Speed safely my friend.
Yep. Losing that vet was a shame. She has been thoroughly trashed now. You hate to see a good car be done that way. On the rear end- gm rears suck ( I've been thru enough of them to say so); don't waste any money on them- put a Ford in it & away you go.
@keith I think about it every now and then. I'm 99% sure I will. It will be a widebody c6 car to start. Ill consider it more seriously when I have a lift, which may be soon 😎
Anybody down in your area any good at tuning HP tuners for5.3 I just cam swapped and I’m needing to find someone to help tune I live in Southern Indiana not too far away from Bowling Green
Thanks for the ride along! 😀👍🏻
Anytime!!

I bought a 2001 suburban this morning that runs and drives. I intend on swapping the engine into my square body crew cab.
Been drag racing it ?
Just imagine if you tickled this guy 😅

@garagetopics that’s me you waved too! I remember seeing you. Burn em off every time you pass!
You serious? What road?
@garagetopics yes sir. House with the white dodge in the driveway. I was putting mulch out when you passed. Old greenhill rd

If you don’t mind me asking what ls swap driveshaft did you use
Pst custom driveshaft. Gave them measurements, had them ship it to me
Your really gunna go sideways if you put a posi rear in it ! But it’s going to be fun to drive
Everyone understands that laugh lol
What type of mufflers
Love it

Thanks cool vid
What size turbo does it got?
78/75 turbo 😎
@@Garagetopics I appreciate it I’m building a c10 myself and I like urs it’s nice and it’s a 5.3 LS right?
It is! The engine combo is based on the sloppy mechanics combo. Tons of RUclips resources for how to do it.

If you want to save some money get the rearend welded. It wont be a 1 wheeler squealer anymore. Lol.
Thats what I am leaning towards!
Or just get the eaton truetrac really strong posi
good stuff

can we please get more tundra videos?

Is this the guy from sex drive?
If you have 10 lbs going through a LS with exhaust and maybe cam etc you gotta have over 500 hp I would think.
I think so, it felt great at 10lbs
Anybody down in your area any good at tuning HP tuners for5.3 I just cam swapped and I’m needing to find someone to help tune I live in Southern Indiana not too far away from Bowling Green
MCR tuning is who I would reccomend!
Thank you so much
Buy a Tru Trac dude, QUICK or source an 8.8
Say spicy one more time
Sweet! She's Spicey! Hee Hee
As per usual. Sketchy :)
Once you get the steering and rear end sorted you get that NOS for spool 🧵
I only need nos for higher wheel speed burnouts!
