If you can, it may be a good idea to hike Harmony Hill before the foliage comes in too thick. There are a few hidden gems in the spring and summer, but they are perfectly accessible in the winter.
i have several of those holly trees in the woods by my house , i wonder if they are native to Pa ? I'm not sure how I'd be remembered when i go .. something i never thought about great hike take care Cliff
I'm really sorry to hear about how your grandfather was to your family, Cliff. I'm really sorry to hear that. Growing up at home, we had a very tall beautiful holly tree that was so beautiful that I absolutely loved. We had it for many years until the landlord unfortunately tore it down.
You keep it goin' with the channel, Ciiff, and I bet someday the PA State Legislature will name a State Park, or maybe a gamelands or a trail or historic site after you, for your tireless efforts to showcase the natural beauty of Pennsylvania (and surrounding states).
Watching this video in the middle of January in cold snowy Michigan, makes me yearn for nice weather again. Spring can’t come soon enough! Thanks for the hike.
Nice hike. Good subject makes you think. I bet it was tough not making your way down to the spring house. I know how you like them😊. Keep on adventuring 👍 🙂🙏
There is only one person in Berks County that will be remembered as the king of trails. And that person is Dane. If you are from Reading, ya know. Ya know Cliff?!

My father was an alcoholic and would fight with my mother, causing us to stay with relatives. So when he died,I wished it would've been 20 or so years earlier. Very nice and peaceful hike. I have Chicadees at my feeder. Haven't seen a nuthatch in a few years. I have seen them walking backwards down tree trunks. I bet in the summer you wouldn't even know those ruins were there. And I,for one, will never forget you. ❤❤❤❤
Cliff, it's a summer camp for kids from the city, they spend one week in the summer there. The camp was started in the 1920s, it's one of if not the oldest camps of its type in the state. I worked there for one year back in 1985. It's a great experience for the kids
Nice video Cliff. I was planning on hiking some of those trails in the spring.
I hiked this back in June. I did not see any of the ruins. I now see why. Thanks, Cliff.

It's pretty cold out here in Delaware right now. We are getting a taste of the Mackinac winds. And I like it. Haha
I'm going to be remembered by driving 5 million miles. I have 20 more years before I can retire so I have a lot more miles to drive yet
That was a fabulous hike. Did you see Merry and Pippin down at the Brandywine? Very enjoyable. Video. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
Not this time, maybe on the next visit..

Ash is a good wood for use in building solid body guitars.

There are a lot of those holly trees in Western Pa. I have a dozen in the woods at my house.
