Notes: The parking for this hike can fill up quickly, especially on the weekends. Get here early in the morning so you can find a space. Later in the day might be good too but it can get pretty hot in the middle of summer. There are restrooms at the trail head. This hike is moderately strenuous with more than three miles of gradual uphill to get to the waterfall. But, it's almost all downhill on the way back!
Looks to be a vibrant ecosystem; gorgeous.....
Beautiful waterfall and a great hike! Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a beautiful trek 😊 Enjoyed watching 👀 Love the flowers and all that water 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video! I only wish you had added directions to drive up to the trailhead.
In the video description there is a link to an AllTrails map. This should show you where the trailhead is.
All the wildflowers - what a treat! And a great waterfall. I can see why the trail is popular.
Unfortunately the popularity has lead to lots of trash along the trail. I picked up a couple of things but there was quite a bit more. In addition, there are several large homes under construction right by the parking area. It's still a lovely hike but it's not one I do very often due to the number of people on the trail.
At 3:24, armed prickly poppy, argemone munita. At 5:29, arrow leaf balsamroot. At 6:13. snow plant, sarcodes sanguinea.
Thank you!
so, is it 3 miles up 3 miles down? Thinking of hitting this trail this weekend. (itll be my first hike in a long time, and...Im also wondering if I can do it)
It’s a little over 3 miles each way. Pretty much uphill the entire way there, but downhill on the return!
The crossing over Hunter Creek near the falls isn’t too bad, but only do it if you feel comfortable. Get there early as the parking area will fill up quickly on the weekend. If it were me, I would get there at 7am. 8am at the very latest.
4:00 - I , too, have scrambled up. NOT worth the effort.
I've continued on up & past the waterfall & overnighted.
This is popular because of everything that comprises this outdoor adventure into the boonies.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
Can you bike this trail?
Even if bikes are allowed, it is so crowded with hikers that biking doesn’t seem feasible. I’ve never seen a cyclist on the trail so my guess is that they aren’t allowed.
