@@val26874 I think all supports should learn how to duel for survivability but that's also time and attention taken from me supporting my team. A support enabling their team is more valuable than support good at dueling. Just because Zen is very good at dueling doesn't mean it's worth pulling my discord off the enemy tank for example. Yes, it might save me but that's one less advantage our team has because I'm getting flanked.

I got told yesterday in quickplay ana your positioning sucks after 3 of my teammates run away from healing around walls into a Winston tracer genji instead of letting them use cooldowns and then proceeded to tell me I don't heal.
I told them I can heal all damage except 1 shots and brain damage. He could decide the reason himself
Flats: "They're called supports because you're not supposed to healbot"

I usually assume he means that for lower ranks. Because less competent players.
he's explained this in some other video before which im not expecting you to have seen so, firstly healbotting on certain characters, like mercy and lucio is bad because theyre not the best at it and you're missing out on their potential, secondly healbotting can be okay, but in solo q when you're trying to climb it means you're relying on your teamates to do everything, when your teamates are people in this rank, and you're wanting to be higher so you have to offer something more to the team. Like in bronze if you're playing moira, you can easy hop into the backline and kill one of their supports or even a dps while most likely the entire team is focused on the tanks. Since Flats isn't trying to climb, he knows they are good and they can win as long as he just heals them, plus he's playing kiriko who is pretty good as a healbot since she can build ultimate quickly, also the fact that the other support was a zen, means he has to compensate for zens lack of healing. He explained it better in the video but I forgot what it was lol so sorry.
@@Hitoshuratdn thats because he was playing kiriko, he's healbotting to get kitsune rush as often as possible, the way he was playing zen was super aggro though, it's about what the character is built to do, mercy and kiriko are characters that do best when they're babysitting other heroes, every other support is pretty much a balance of if a kill or if some heals provide more to the team in that moment

@@Hope_Prevail The difference being, that Kiriko almost never attempted to throw a single kunai at the enemy. Most high level Kirikos will healbot to build ult while also throwing the occasional kunai or flanking

To be completely honest maintank players have also sufferd allot in ow1. You could get 1shot at any moment in time it felt like lol.

because they're not good, that's the truth of it. Look in the beginning at their enemy support stats compared to them, it's just a skill issue
I mean they aren't good supports & I'm pretty sure that's obvious at least 1000% not even Master's, their specialty is Tank

@@khaledm.1476halfway through the video you can see both of them outhealed the enemy team 10 to 4 and still lost. One of their dps had 4 elims and 12 deaths. Sometimes no matter what supports do, if dps and tank aren’t pulling their weight, you lose.

Well when you got teammates spending 90% of their airtime jumping to get around of course it's gonna look like that. Contrary to popular beliefs, jumping does NOT in fact make your walk speed any faster, because you're capped at the full walk speed that character can travel. That said, jumping off high places to a lower area can increase some distance travelled a little quicker, slopes and stairs are the exception also.

Flats can play anything except dps, we have seen him in the tour playing sojourn. He's the *only top500 player to make sojourn look actually nerfed*

I've been a support main since season 2 of ow1.
I actively have a higher rank DPS and tank rank because of players like
*Tanks that break line of sight*
*DPS that do less damage than Bap*
*Players that do the same thing over and over with the same bad results every time*
Oh, and my personal favorite - *Mercy one-tricks that only heal, complaining about having most healing*
got 7-2 today and ranked up from bronze 5 to... bronze 5

As a support main the crazy thing is he barely we t positive and promoted. I went 7-0 and stayed at plat 2 and 7-1 demoted me

I don't understand the new rank system a whole lot but like the old system, personal performance (whatever that means in stats depending on role) and the rank of the whole lobby compared to yours may have something to do on your gains and losses. The latter is easier to determine now because of the "X challenger" titles, but it's still a little misleading because of off-roles.

Being support isn't fun anymore 😪 either you get rolled and targeted or your teammates spam chat for heals when your trying your best. Not saying there aren't games you make mistakes or have a bad game but for the most part it's so frustrating

the beginning is my experience as a tank, being new and just unlocking ranked I'm 25 loses, how I'm getting paired up with the opposing tanks being diamond etc vs a player with 0 rank and expected to win 7 games is mind blowing.

Not really, I mean he's in their front line trying to get environmental kills. Not really smart play for Zenyatta.
The guy is top500 for a reason, he also has gamesense, he knows the propper way to play each hero, just not at the opportune moments or under pressure or lacks the experience of certain situations.
He's also out there trying to have fun while playing support. If I play zen I don't sit 10 miles back waiting for someone to walk in a 5orb volley. That's boring. Yes if I would otherwise 100% lose that game maybe I will.

Literally if your teammates stay alive longer then if takes the enemy to feed into you your winning lol. Ontop of that dive heroes or orisa are hard to punish because there is no peel or they all shoot at the orisa when they don't need to and panic when your ontop of them lol

Nah I know I could easily rank up as those roles. I just barely play them because I geniunely don't think they're that enjoyable to play. I could probably get them to atleast Plat pretty easily if I was ever motivated to play them. I mean the only reason I have any ranks in those roles to begin with was to play with my friends who are new to the game and I was forced to play Tank and DPS with them cuz my rank as Support was to high.
I can't celebrate plat's climb through the ladder enough, Merry Christmas plats
Zen has literally no other defensive option or situation in which that's applicable. Kiriko can give an entire team invincibility through most of the ults, ccs, and status effects in this game, zen needs a "this is sparta!"
Every new support has gotten 10x the bells and whistles as the original trio - soft reworks like the kick are good.
