Sajam in episode 1: I can't stress this enough, if you DON'T KNOW the game then DON'T BET. Sajam in episode 6: Why are you stressing, just make the bet!
I like Sajam's character development from "If you don't know the game, don't bet," to "'I don't know third strike I can't keep getting lucky' Just make the call."
Caught it live, it's a damn riot! Let no one say Sajam is not one of the best entertainers on Twitch. Also, went from double my money, to close to zero, to double like twice over. He's not lying when he says bet low.
I want everyone to look at the combo at 7:55 as the reason new people get into fighting games. It's not simplified mechanics. It's not autocombos. It's sentences like "I did a kick, wallbounced him 4 times, and then I pulled out a gun"
I think the best part about the potemkin clip in around 23:49 is that if he didn't super and just fucking breathed on him he would have gotten the wallbreak and it would have killed, this was literally the only option that would hit that wouldn't kill in that scenario.
Yeah, I honestly don't know when i've been as triggered as I was because of the heavenly buster choice. Didn't follow live but it was the only Guilty gear clip that i got wrong and when Nagoriyuki got stuck on the wall I was hyped like, yes got it right, damn i'm good. Then I see Heavenly potemkin buster : | It's not gonna kill is it... Great clip though
Showing the gasp on that Persona clip would've just shown everyone the "Fatal Counter" right behind the attack, would've been the most free bet that's ever been on this series
people were asking in chat when this was live, so: my cat's name is Sammy (named after the Metroid character) and she's 11 years old. not every clip I get is ambiguous enough for WIK but I'll try to load the dice and send in more next month
Hearing Sajam call my combo “out of control” is all I need tbh. I was trying to land that for hours and I was so happy I landed it. I-no was super dead but I’m so happy I got a bit of recognition. 💙💙💙💙
It’s a vampire thing-him and Slayer are so absurdly strong that they never take fights seriously, so when they lose they always just kind of sit down and shrug it off like nbd
The pot combo at 23 min is REALLY suboptimal, And there are a dozen ways pot could have killed. I saw the starter and immediately said "he SHOULD kill, my 10th floor pot could kill there," but then I panicked as he HPBed instead of HK. So I tested the exact situation at 41.5% on nago. If he had ended the combo with heat knuckle with wall break he would have killed instead of HPB for only the 50 meter (179 vs 172). HPB is usually worse than wall break in my experience. The other super as an ender would have killed too, even that high. Even just counter hit c.S 2H HPB would have killed (174 vs 172). I'm just watching the vod and I still feel a little robbed on that one. Love the show tho, keep it up Sajam.
Sajam i wanted to pop in and say that me and a friend have been doing Will It Kill together over discord, and keeping a full running total over all the episodes. its been a blast. weve actually tied multiple times after past episodes, and are currently tied as of Ep 5 at 47/86. Theres actually 87 will it kills in episode 1-5, buuut, me and my friend both know the infamous Ash KoF13 clip well so we decided to just not bet lmao. Imma report back in once we can hang to watch episode 6 to let ya know how ass we did
I think it's really great that you allow these filthy gambling addicts a place to gamble and get their fix in a way that doesn't cause them to lose their house or anything. Truly a champion of the people.
With every episode of this I am increasingly surprised by the amount of comedic value there is in pausing after ONE hit in a fighting game and asking if the victim is going to be dead at the end of it
On that Potemkin vs Nago clip I was 100% confident on my vote until 23:36 happened. As soon as the Pot did HPB I went "wait, no, that's not gonna kill, you should have broken the wall instead aaaaaaaaaah"
In Double Dragon, there are 2 kinds of stun. The standing stun and the grounded stun. When a character is ground stunned, they can only be hit with a pursuit attack (universal to every character). And throws can stun, and they pretty much always cause ground stun. So, what Abobo did there was to cause a ground stun from his command grab, and then he did his Earthquake super. Normally, it's an earthquake kind of move, meaning you have to crouch or you'll get hit. But, in ground stun, it's the only super in the game, as far as I know, that also acts as an OTG. So, command grab stun into OTG super.
I love this show. By the way, the Karnak clip: there's indeed a mechanic that breaks an opponent's accessory and causes stun by hitting them in a certain way (I think it's called weak point system).
23:39 you know when I saw this, the first thing that came into my head was "Man what if pots super just got scaled into hell and it somehow didn't kill?" boy, look how that turned out huh?
I saw moo playing playing shadow mitsuru and i was like "I remember this video. Yes every time.". And it's a very big kick. "guilty gear xrd is a """""""low damage game"""""""". pulls down webcam to reveal slayer's smug face.
I saw the Double Dragon Clip and went "Yep this kills" from what I remember Abobo get's more damage on the throw if you keep inputting 360's and since it stunned his Super connected from full screen
I mean, what he did wasn’t optimal. There a simple heat knuckle would have crushed Nago’s guts 4 since it’s a multi hitting, AND it would have broke the wall.
You know what's funny, I think there are more clips in Sajam's will it kill where Slayer does NOT kill than clips where he does kill. But it still feels like he always will. Might be somewhat influenced by personal experience playing against him in Xrd, though.
They tell you to move your portrait away from the health bars in Persona so that they can check if the character has Burst or not. If they don't, it means they are Shadow characters and that's why people become confident to bet on them.
In the vast majority of cases the best strategy, I've found, is to determine what Sajam is implicitly trying to convey. Then bet on the opposite of that. He can't help himself, he's always trying to implicitly mislead you, however lightly.
I'm honestly peeved at the second potemkin clip, it wasn't optimal since heat knuckle would've killed where HPB didnt because of the lack of wall break
For future reference for those not in the know: In Persona 4 Arena Ultimax there's Shadow (yellow eyes and evil grin) versions of characters. Shadows at 100 meter can activate a Shadow Frenzy which essentially means infinite meter on a time limit.
All I know about Double Dragon is that there's a beat em up crossover with Battletoads that I used to play as a kid on some sort of bootleg emulator disc for SNES games for PS2
