To mention it first, although this old kit is an imposition, you made a good, decent and clean job. 👍 The problem with this kit is that it has inaccuracies. For instance; the edge of the rear panel is too high and it goes over the top edge. 👎 Instead it shoud be even with the rear floor, even with the ventilation grilles. It`s not your fault. Don`t know how Italeri coud make such a mistake. I had the same problem with the Bergepanther from them. 😕 I had to correct it. The second problem are the hanger bars for the spare tracks at the rear. Italeri indicates them in the plan and on the kit itself in the middle. 👎 That`s wrong. They shoud be above and flush with the top edge. Here my advice. While building a tank model don`t take the plan for granted. Do also always a research on the original. Google the tank`s name "Panther A walkaround" and and see the details. That way you will learn step by step more about tanks and you will increase your knowledge. 😉🙂

If you look I actually said that the Tamiya one was dated, not superior. Dated means its showing its age. It doesn't mean I think its superior. You imagined that, probably because you wanted and needed to.
You are also wrong in suggesting that I haven't built this kit. I built this kit ages ago but even then its shortcomings were obvious. The schurzen hides some of the running gear but not enough. Using the kit supplied zimmerit makes the shape and dimensions look very wrong. The problems with the hull and turret I mentioned are still there and very apparant.
By the time you have bought the after market parts to make this thing look even remotely like an Ausf A , its into the price range of proper panther kits. Not to mention the time and effort needed to fit them, such as getting the turret to actually sit on the hull. I would recommend you save your pocket money up and get a proper panther. You'll get a model that looks like a panther, is accurate, fits together well, and gives you a great building experience that you should enjoy. I would watch a video of what sort of a job you make of it as you got a good result with the italeri kit

What ??!! The Tamiya kit is absolutely awful ! It's not superior to this kit in any way whatsoever 🤢

This kit is a joke. You've done a good job but really wasted your time trying to get an accurate A from this rubbish. Panther A's really need Zimmerit, which is in the kit but doesn't fit well. This needs etch, new tracks and wheels as a minimum. Also some way to disguise the turret riding above the hull, which this kit needs to do to stop it crashing into the drivers and co-drivers hatches. Go for meng, takom or dragon of you want a decent A. Even the tamiya one is dated.

It's a great kit for a novice . It's FAR superior to the Tamiya kit ; to even suggest that makes it sound like you haven't built either . If you use the schurzen most of the tracks and wheels are hidden and the zimmerit is easy to make fit .
Sure there are better Panthers but they cost a lot more and demand more skill ; anyone looking at this kit hasn't got the 60+ quid for Takom/Meng/Dragon et al .
My only gripe with this kit is that it's no longer as cheap as it was so it's main rival will be the ICM kit .

@@jimmytgoose476 I built this ages ago but even then its shortcomings were obvious. The schurzen hides some of the running gear but not enough of it. Using the zimmerit makes the shape of it even more of a joke. By the time you've bought the after market parts you need to make this thing look even close to an Ausf A you're into the price of a proper Panther. Save up your pocket money and get one of the accurate Panthers out there. You'll enjoy it and see the difference. You'll get a better Panther from it as well.

Missed my point entirely ; it's a nice kit for a novice and infinitely superior to the shitty Tamiya ausf -A kit . A novice isn't going to buy aftermarket anything which is moot anyway - the kit (supposedly...) has dimensional faults so spending anything on it still won't get you an "accurate" Panther . Also, most novices won't spend north of 50 quid on a modern "accurate" kit with a thousand parts .
I built mine in the 90s . It was free - rescued from my mates bin . Some of the zimmerit panels were missing and damaged so i did my own ; a first for me , along with the airbrushed camo, individual link tracks (£5) and hand painted markings . It was (i think) my 4th 1/35 tank and the first one i was pleased with . Since then I've bought several Panthers by Cromwell, Tamiya , Dragon , Hobbyboss and Meng so yes, i know the difference but this still has a special place on my shelf .

@@jimmytgoose476 'A novice isn't going to buy aftermarket anything' but you replaced the tracks on your fourth 1/35th kit....?
I could go on but don't think there's anything to be gained here. Happy modelling

You could go on ....why bother . The tracks were a fiver, the kit was nowt , what did i have to lose ? Maybe i just learned faster than you did 🙂
