Building a Frankenstein Ausf .A Panther 1/35 Tank (Italeri).

- Using a 17 year old unfinished kit I set about creating a 'What If' project. The old Ausf .A Italeri Panther has seen better days, but using spare parts from other kits I build an end of War Frankenstein Ausf .A Tank.

The Ausf.A is hard to find now but you could use this kit: amzn.to/396wmn7
Or you could build straight from this Tamiya kit (Good Kit to start): amzn.to/2Pkiyy8

this is also very therapeutic to watch whilst filling in spreadsheets so thank you!!
Ha ha my hands go so bad when it gets cold.. like ultra paper cuts 😨. Ha ha you aren’t the first person to say that! Good to know it’s good to work along side to 😀👍
I like that you tackle the old kits, a lot of people just give up on it. How about a theme of Finishing the Shelf Queen.
That’s a good idea! I’ve a few kits to finish that would make interesting ‘builds to finish’ videos. In fact I was planning to tackle the Tamiya Churchill which is mostly built but needs paint and weathering soon. Thanks for being the first person to comment on my channel! I really appreciate it 😀
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hi Steve, thanks very much for subscribing.. just subscribed to your channel also 😀
I appreciate the sub. Many thanks
Interesting combination of kits!
Just seen your 155mm Hobby Japan kit vid! Looks like an interesting build for the future 😀👍
Good video. Wish I had the patience to build kits from my shelf of doom!
I think the best thing about these older kits is I’m not so scared to try new techniques.. which for me is the best way to learn! Usually by totally messing it up ha ha
Love this! And don't worry about the dry hands haha!! xD
1 Year ago.. thought I’d reply ha ha! Are you still subscribed Jack 😬😀👍
@@modkitmayhem Wow!!!! Yeah still subbed of course!!! Ready to be notified of the next upload 🙌😀
@@jackuglow1673 good stuff ha ha.. Get yourself a kit sometime.. build something cool!
Or I have no experience in assembling such models or I did something wrong, write what you think about my problems with this model.
Hi, I’m trying to remember how the turret went together (I’d already built it 15 years before the video). If you are trying to add the extra zimmeret panels.. they are difficult. You may have to roll them with a pen to get them to follow the curve of the Panther Turret. The back turret/tower panel is inset and not flush on the back of a Panther turret.. that maybe why you are having trouble. Have a look at a photo for a better understanding of the fit! I hope this helps.. it’s difficult to understand the problem when you can’t see it. Hope you can persevere and finish the model, and enjoy the finished kit 👍😀
Cool work, I had problems with the side armor plates on the turret, and the rear panel with the entrance hatch, for a long time I could not figure out how to properly glue these parts. And the second problem is the rear panel on the tower, it seemed to me that it somehow does not fit correctly with the tower itself. Maybe the design idea of the creators of this tank?
Why did you add the Dragon fans ?
I think I was replicating a build I'd seen in a Tamiya magazine! He swapped somethings for Dragon spares.
🙂👍
Great job on the franken panther
Thanks Jose 😀👍
