** Affinity Designer Time-Lapse drawing a flat racing car. In this video I'll show the full process from beginning to end. I use methods I showed in previous tutorials, and new ones, such as extracting colour palettes from other images I like to use in my new artwork. I also explain how you can slow down this video in order to get to see my movements if you might want to. I also put the keystrokes so you get to see what I click as I work. **

Here I use methods I showed in previous tutorials like masking, booleans, gradients, etc, and new ones, such as extracting colour palettes from other images I like to use in my new artwork and show the keystrokes so you get to see what I click as I work.

I love your tutorials and I feel like they are the best Affinity Designer tutorials on youtube right now.
However, I generally don't like to watch time-lapse videos, whether for tutorials or hand-drawn art or DIY projects or whatever it may be. I wouldn't mind if your channel had some time lapse videos now and then, but I feel like part of what makes this channel appealing to me is the fact that it's not just time-lapsed videos like so many other youtube "tutorials" or videos out there.
No matter what you do, I appreciate the amazing tutorials you do and hope you keep them coming!

Nicely done Isabel. Thanks for drawing the Shelby. On your next sports car illustration, if you draw side pipes, you can leave the tail pipe off.

Hi Stanley. That is called "smart copy" in Affinity Designer (Cmd+C > CmdJ) and to make it work like you see here, you need to combine it with moving the rotation centre of the first segment to make it coincide with the rotation center of the wheel. If you slow down the video you'll see it clearly. Thanks for the comment!
Do you feel as if you need a tablet in order to use affinity designer?
Hi Yoon. Not really. I rarely use a tablet and digital pen when I'm working with vectors, unless I am using the vector brushes. I find it way easier to work vectors with the mouse, but this is my personal choice. The tablet I leave for digital painting with brushes (the ones in the pixel persona in AD). Cheers!
Isabel Aracama, that's great to hear! I'm looking at getting into vector design and I'm not sure if I want to invest into a tablet if I won't need it.
I'd say you don't. But if you finally decide to get yourself one, there's some cheap ones that really do the job. I have several models, but whenever I cannot use the Cintiq, I get along perfectly with a 50 quid Bamboo, and I know some other models are cheaper than Wacom ones and work also like a charm, for what I've heard.
