I managed to set this up using a Curt brand wiring kit. The installation was the same, except instead of using a Y splitter, I used splice clamps to form the brake/turn/running connections. Make sure you use a multimeter to troubleshoot electricity flow issues if you go this route. Excellent tutorial.
This video is for the T-Connector and not a universal kit as you describe. Great job none the less!
Is there not a constant positive wire in the back to save you from having to run a wire to the battery?
We are following the manufacture directions for installation. But if you have an unused 12v power source, you can definitely use that!
I hooked it up exactly. Got everything done. Put the fuse in. Checked with my plug-in tester. Everything worked. My wife came home drove about 10 mi. The turn signals went out. I checked the fuse. It was good. You can hear them blinking but no lights. I unplugged the unit, plugged it back in like factory and still nothing. Not for sure what happened. You have any ideas?
Check the ground.
Hardest part of this installation is finding the 10mm socket…..
Its always missing! haha
