- Today we pulled @DubWerks Porsche 914 from it's grave. I was suppose to be grabbing a rare piece for our friend Mustie1 but Robbie talked me into saving his Porsche 914. Check out Dubwerk's channel for the first start in years as well as the first drive in decades on the old car.

Robbie is a good guy! I remember when I was his age. My uncle, a Studebaker guy, mentored me! I miss him terribly! He passed year at 94!
Another great rescue guys! It’s very entertaining to watch you two work together 😄 And I don’t think it would be a true 5150 rescue if you showed up completely prepared every time 😅 Thank you very much J and DubWerks, will definitely be interesting to see what Robbie does with his “new” Porsche!
Thank you Glen, I had about zero energy that day ...i'm finally recovered from my NH rescues though :). Haha, no it just wouldn't be right if i didn't have something working against me right ? :).
Yes when you get stared restoring a Porsche their a monypit so Dubwerks needs deep pockets
the white spider is a Fiat 1200 Pininfarina
thank you for the ID
Sweet 914 axe chock Supprize just for the Viewer's and Mustie Remembered in Thoughts Out loud!!! 1985 just getting Better!!!; )
I live in Massachusetts my neighbor bought a beetle new when she graduated high school in 1966……it’s been restored 4 times and it’s still her daily driver all these years later….. she has a sticker on the back window that says class of 66……. The car has a documented 1.4 million miles
Nice. Wanna hear that 914 fire. See you on the next one... down on Mean Street. 🤘
The kid is great! He loves wheelin' and fishing......He's gonna have a good life! Maybe introduce deer hunting/harvesting delicious venison?
That was fun, just see if it rolls LOL You can drop that panel off anytime😁
I told you i had my eye in that 914! and one day later you (Robbie) scored a nice find! I loved you and Josh on the Hondas!! Those are cool trikes! You taught him well!
The unloading was very entertaining. LOL
Haha 😁
This is real comedy at its finest. Great job you guys I learned how to take a wheel off. This is great.
“Half hour video on wheel installation…”. 😂
That battery connection immediately brought to mind Waylon Wire's motto: "DON'T EVER DO WHAT YOU SEE ME DO ON THIS CHANNEL!"😆😆
haha! for sure , it was get his 914 ON so i can dump it at his house and go home :).... i didn't have much energy that day . I did since replace the garbage hf cable with a good one👍
You two are a pair that beats a full house. I love the winch.
Nice water crossings! Also the German car for the apprentice.
Excellent video Jason :) , teaching Robbie :) and how load up vechiles also unloading too plus working dark LOL! Lots fun with son to is best too !
Awesome as always
thank you, was kinda bummed it was all cleared but in a way happy haha
Best Dad ever! 👍👍
Thank you Mike ! I'm trying ...being a Dad IS the best thing ever :)
Another cool find ,Robbie’s happy and nice one Jason I’m always being there 👍 Josh cool on his quad
Awesome video, thanks for posting!!
Thank you
Something to check on the 914 is front suspension mounts. They can get very rusty where the arm meets the floor. I used to work on them 20 yrs ago. We just cant find the vws any more out here and if we do they think they own gold.
Nice finds.
Not many trikes left here in the UK.
Nice 914! Love the trikes!
thank you Dan
never had so much fun at 8mph on a 3 wheeler. Totally safe when riding slow. its the high speeds and guys abusing them that made them dangerous.
Amazing scores lately.
thank you ByK
That kid is a leyend I'm telling you. God bless you.
Thanks Straight Ahead ✌😎
You are Robbie's official taxi service Jason! I wouldn't mind doing it for him as he is good to you too. I think you better get Musti's 'artefact' out soon just to keep him happy, don't want to upset Musti .The axe 'gag' is what we call 'a school boy error' here in the UK, She rolls well though 😁. Some great finds there Jason. Good to see Josh having fun too, he has nailed the trike! 👍👍
Yes and yes he is :). I will grab it this week , i am looking forward to seeing him work his magic on it, it is super cool. Haha, well he's not a lumberjack like me , I bought a new chainsaw at 14. Josh and i had a fun summer , fishing, mx bikes and now these ATC's . Thank you Stephen
Very cool video…. Great Pick
we thank you
Mouse grey standard. Much better than the 914 IMO. Nice score.
I agree , which is why Robbie got the 914 :))
Complete wIth a mousie looking up at him when he cleaned it out!
Sweet panel. Can't wait for part 2
thank you 56'
Great finds on the vehicles but my favorite part was looking at the old ATCs. in 1985 I was a teenager and I lived on my 1982 trike with no front suspension. Standing with 1 knee on the seat going through a mud hole. Brought back such good memories
that was my fav part too! Josh and i spent 3 days living in 1985 at some of my old stomping grounds ....I was on foot in 85' but the ATC's were plentiful back then haha. Great to hear you had one :)
👍👌👏 2) I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next part. 2) Josh is just on the brink of age to be still called a cute boy. A very special and talented kid anyway.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved people.
thank you CC , much appreciated , you as well
Nice video. You're a good person.
thank you, he is a good kid :)
Great video guys
Thank you MR M , glad you enjoyed it
Great finds off cars guys🔥🔥
we thank you 88
That Tundra is absolutely gutless. Lol
uhhh, it has a trailer hooked to it, using a ratchet strap , car is in the ground and i'm looking to rip his 914 in 1/2 :).... the 4.7 is one the best engines made in the last 20 years
Hell hole & battery tray ? Great find, cant wait until Dubwerks slams a 2.7 in there 😂😂😂 Josh is a bright kid, hope he grows up loving Hondas 🤣💪
no idea , check out his channel, he has cranking out some work over there
thank you, he loves his Honda's for sure
Great finds 😳😳😳😳🤙😎👍
we thank you
those Hondas sound soo good brings back some memories!
i bet , mine were just running around the sand pits and trails watching haha.
🇦🇺👍good save
Let’s see them road restoration
lol you 2 are killing me lol lol - lol
nice job.
I think I would like to go back to 1985 too. Good times!
we got room for one more !
Any way I can buy the black Porsche ?
sold
Nice old car guys
Lad blips the throttle like a pro on that ATC!
Josh having fun reliving dads GLORY DAYS LOL!
haha! All Dad ever wanted was an ATC110 , with a sandwich in the back compartment to take fishing down to the river. At least i had the river :))🎣
That guy has some pretty cool vehicle's on his property! At a glance that panel van looks like he put some work into it, maybe. It's kinda hard to tell until you dig into it. I think those 914's are ugly, but what the hell, if you can make a buck on it, it's a beauty! Or maybe you like it, either way, another worthy rescue Jason. Keep doing your thing man!! I'll be watching!!!
So how did the 914 handle coming off the ramps. Josh is going to be a real character when he grews up, just like his dad.
You need some Fluid Film on that cable. Musty1 wants that white speed car in the back ground also. Also you need a battery sponsor ?Back to lug nut school. Keep up the videos I will be watching.
1985 was the best!
I did get her to sit in the Corrado :))
I turned 16 in 1985, good year.
heck yeah ! :))
That Exhaust Whauffle From the Sequoia isn’t Helping much Against the Lil Red Devil , is Your Dub partner wearing Sneakers 🤣😂🤣👀at Least the Van Dub is kinda On Solid Ground in a Garage , That 1929-34 Bugatti is a Nice , Expensive Investment,
haha, yeah I haven't looked into that but i think it's the manifold, plus i still had the trailer hooked up and no tow strap, just the cargo strap...i know, i should of jacked it up out of the ground , it was getting late and i was not in typical rescue mode :).
Hello men like you video love the old cars that the diamond poche nice condition Florida USA 🙏🙏🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Nice Porche. Dub needs to do more rescues to learn how and the tricks involved in it.. Your son is adorable and is getting really good showing you up on fishing and 3 wheeling... I'm kidding of course.. he's a good kid.
Leave the rescues to me , Dubwerks is kicking butt these days on the repair / metal work / painting side of things . Josh put it to me on the ATC as far as not getting stuck and usually out fishes me somehow lol
Thank you Rus , I appreciate it
@@5150mxVW You're very welcome. More kids need to be raised like him. Away from video game and in some fresh air playing outside. I'm looking forward to one day meeting you guys.
1985,,hell yeah. I wanna go !!!!!
we will pick you up , what shall we bring for you to ride or drive ?
@@5150mxVW definitely 1 of those Honda 3 wheelers,,for sure!!!
Panel walk through never had the upper vents. That is original. The upper vents were for if you had a divider you needed some fresh air in the back for Safety from carbon monoxide
That Porsche 912 wow 😯. Steve McQueen Le Mans movie 🎥 😅
In L.A. they call it a poor man’s Porsche
In LA? who cares about LA🤣.... I was just thinking of doing a vid on all the " poor man " Porsche's i own. Ghia, 914, 924s, Corrrado and even thee Corvair was called that haha :).
Those old yamahas are great
did i miss a Yami ?
@@5150mxVW My bad, I meant Honda! idk why I always mix them up. Yamaha did make little 3 wheelers too but they were blue or yellow and I dont think they were anywhere near as reliable as the Hondas
The old Dubwork echo echo
Good grief get that 911!!
Is this a 74? I had a 71 and my dad had a 71 as well. Neat cars!
Might be

I hope you didn't take any of that Japanse knotweed with you. It'll spread and you'll never get rid of it. Even the smallest piece will start a new infestation!
LOL CHOP that tree down lol to funny
You really should replace those battery leads with some good quality one you can buy the wire and make them yourself
i replaced the negative a few rescues ago and finally opened the control box and replaced the positive one ....thank you, great advice
Two more splits, if i understood correctly. You´ve definitely stepped up your game bro, as of late. Makes me question if you still have a wife?!! haha... I~m sure she understands the master plan. I´m already looking forward to the vision sessions. Peace!
I liked the Porsche 912
it was pretty crispy and had a type 1 engine in it
Hello mate its time for Tea brb
Can’t you rig up some permanent jump leads from your truck battery to the winch battery and have the truck running whilst you winch?
Get an anderson socket attachment for plug and play
just needed to dump the garbage HF battery cables and put some real ones on that don't turn to powder ...the deep cycle marine battery can pull cars on and off all day
Vw thing golf cart? That was cool…..
Where was this at? Did they get rid of all the cars? Theres a few I would be interested in.
Instant like
😁 thank you
Second to none😅
😆💯😭
Everyone of your videos should end with father son time.
If you jack the front of your trailer up it should create an easier slope of entry by levling the ramps with the trailer when you winch the car up😊 And one more thing Jason that doesn't sound like a Saquoia but more like a Sakueefa 😂.
Will, you know I learned that trick years ago now ( prob from u ) ....that is one trick i can't leave home without haha....yes, I bought it ( Sequoia. ) in NJ, had it shipped , oh well lol
@@5150mxVW 😁👍
hey guys fast food trays make great sliders for them stuck wheels
wish i had a dollar for every comment on food trays , i could afford some haha
check to see if its in gear //check to see if the parking break is on,-- before pulling car //lol outstanding
and the chain stayed on
there is hope for my repair skills😁
Dear @@5150mxVW
Uhm... maybe because a winch can't be pushed around and therefore it was a must to repair it!? 😁 ;-) 😜😝😛👅
I was thinking Josh going to try that uphill at the end.
we take it easy when riding ATC's....
we did go up that power line up hill after the water crossing if that was what you were referring to
Yes, that looked like a climb.@@5150mxVW
👍
thank you PC
Saved them all 😂 I guess jen doesn't care anymore 😂
Cool. 1985
👍👍
One hook 1 loop on the sequoia
those 914's are fun little go carts worst case a manual Subaru swap
they are .... no Subu swaps for me
That bus is a standing stack of rust. How you weld in the new pans and such.
pans on the frame and box section , then inner outer rockers , a/b/c lower pillars etc ...they are more complicated than Beetles but very fixable ....i hope the frame is ok on the Bus, i never looked :))
If you’re winch stays outside at least cover it.
usually is , I used to even bring it inside when i got home. I did finally swap the garage HF positive lead with a real cable and it's been good so far.
A shower cap works
While its not quite the classic Porsche shape, with some non US bumpers that 914 could be very cool.
Sounds like a 7 cylinder sequoia
better than 6 !🤣
I had a 85 250sx
that is good one !
My dream car Porsche 914
fun cars !
I'm thinking that the early 1.7 liter 914s weren't badged as such, just the 1.8 and 2.0 liter models.
haha, thank you
GUSTAVO
besides the "panel"... how bout the 912??? Seems like your "cup of tea" ...Oh.. and if that was a "real" Bugatti...it's worth a fortune.. I'm no expert, but perhaps it was a copy from back-in-the-day. ...Inquiring minds need to know
912 was sold , and that was a kit car
Dig it
thanks SR
Here
Where are the fishing rods 😂.
They should be strapped to the trikes.
You should do a father and son fishing highlights cast.l
Hi Barry , I had them except for the 3rd day when we just went exploring . I have some fishing footage I’ll add on something soon . Thank you
@5150mxVW cool I will look forward to it .
My name is Lloyd lol.
I see you rescuing all these cars but I never see them getting restored ?
I want to stab myself in the eye with a sharp pencil when I’m on video # 3 of the same car …do you know how many hours just in editing you would have wrapped up in documenting a restoration ? Each vid is 4-8 hours of edit time you see on my channel . Age 6 minimum …now add all the time it takes to change camera angles and switch batteries etc while doing the work and it adds an ungodly number of hours to a rebuild that could of been spent actually making progress on the car. Not to mention how much welding , grinding , repeat can you watch . Yes there is some interesting things to film during a restoration but it’s so tedious in the long run . I feature vids from Larry’s garage as he’s a pro and offers great insight , tips and direction . Yes some updates here and there wouldn’t hurt . This channel isn’t going to feature a 150 part series on a full restoration…look at the CT , he has over 50 vids on his 65 beetle and it’s a long way from being done .
Jason "No prep" car rescues. Slight battery issue, AGAIN. I know Dubwerks has extensive knowledge on all things numbers (VIN, Reg tags etc.) but it seems when it comes to the actual work he is a bit of a hinderance. He at least needs to do a course on lug nuts. Panel looks magic.
Mechanical work I fall flat... body work though...
haha, well i had a fully charged 2 month old deep cycle marine battery on hand ...if u watch the vid you'll see the fried spaghetti positive side Harbour Freight total %&*#$%&@ GARBAGE winch / power cable . I have two 12k HF winches and one 9k HF winch and they all have fried battery leads. I had previously replaced the junk negative cable on this one in the 1960 Bug rescue with a W West Beetle cable. I have not had an issue since . As for Dubwerk's he is a metal guy / painter / body repair....HOWEVER , he has rebuilt a Vw engine , done brake work , headliner, full interior , fuel system repair yada yada ...and restored his 1967 Beetle starting out at 15 years old with ZERO knowledge of any of the tasks ahead. Oh and the lug nut was stuck in the icon socket so he did the right thing and put it back into the hub to shake it free. I was just busting his stones and as usual we were just having fun in the dark.....did I mention he restored a 1967 Beetle in a multiple show winning car?
@@DubWerks You're still young and with your enthusiasm you will succeed.
@@5150mxVW All good but it is fun busting his chops. He's young and needs to be ribbed a bit. He'll do well for himself.
