Blade: Wizamet (18)
Brush: Lancaster Razorworks Fluted Handle w/ 28mm Rhodium Knots Manchurian
Soap: Barrister and Mann 'Soft Heart' Unscented
Post: Zingari Man 'Unscented' Aftershave
Soap Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Tallowate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Tallowate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Milk, Potassium Kokum Butterate, Methyl Gluceth-10, Xanthan Gum, Sucrose Cocoate, Potassium Ricinoleate, Sodium Kokum Butterate, Allantoin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Lanolin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids, Fragrance, Sodium Ricinoleate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate.
Writeup:
I have to say, I am incredibly impressed with the overall performance of the WR2. It has the best balance of smoothness and efficiency I've used, personally. The blade glides across the skin and is held in place very well, better than I expected given the overall design of the head construction.
Rhodium is for me, the best option when it comes to affordable hand-tied knot services. Srdjan's knot has a great balance of splay and backbone and compares to the densest and most luxurious knots, I've used personally.
What can I say about Soft Heart? It's simply remarkable. The ease of lather and the overall performance across all metrics of the performance makes it one of the best soaps on the market for me.
I hope you enjoyed this video!

So happy your new precious lived up to your expectations, mate.
Looking great my man! You seem refreshed and relaxed! What an awesome shave! Glad it lived up to your expectations!
Hey jack, I think you are the first to actually highlight how the blade is held on this razor, awesome. I still have about three months before my Wolfman arrives. Hope you are well..
That’s still my top base! I agree it’s a special razor. I found the 1.05 both extremely smooth and efficient! Great shave Jack
Great shave. Thanks for sharing your experience.
My brass Karve with 3 plates arrived yesterday. Tried it this morning. WOW!!
Great shave. Love that brush, I’m a sucker for that green. Looking forward to trying out that B&M soon.
Killer shave, Jack. Thanks for the shout out!
Awesome shave Jack I just love the Barrister and Mann soaps I have tried and defiantly need to check out that new soap base.
Great shave Jack! Hope you have a fantastic weekend my brother!
I believe the razor head is designed after a gillette tech as far as how the blade is held in place. Great vid a always
Bloody beautiful brush handle! Just beaut!
Beautiful razor bro! I also have a large collection and love for stirling.
Damn! That wolfman handle is gorgeous!!!
I think the Hallowed coming out in October from B&M is in that base. I pre-ordered so I could try this base. Hopefully they do an unscented again and scented if it's that good. I noticed that a few of the vintage Gillette's have that same blade holding style as that razor. I hope all is well and have an awesome weekend!
I just got my Wolfman Jack same exact like you 1.15 Sb & .95 OC wow I love it very nice smooth shave using both sides..
However on 1.15 you nailed it Jack it’s the best Gap you can choose💈🪒👍🏼👍🏼
Take Care

Enjoying shaving vicariously through you as always! Have you had a chance to visit Powell's City of Books yet? I always stop there when traveling through Portland.
The Razorock DE1 also uses the same method of clamping the blade but at the very opposite end of the cost spectrum. The brush is lovely.
The 1930 Gillette ball end tech also holds the blade that same way.
Great Razor Jack 🪒👍🏼
Take care
Nice test. This razor in my wishlist
Do you prefer this or the Karve Overlander? Thanks.
Great video Jack
Excellent review of WR2. I guess I’ll stay on the list! Question: have you ever used a Gillette Fatboy? Or a Slim? If so, what setting works best for you? I’m trying to determine if I should get the WR2 1.15 or 1.25. Thanks!
Beautiful razor! I would love to know what your top 5 DE razors are starting from your favorite. Hope you are enjoying "heart" coffee in Oregon :)
Shaving With Raza Heart Coffee is the best here man.
Looking forward to hearing more about how that knot compares to your other brush knots as that corner of the market seems to be booming.
Also. the Karve SS has held my #1 spot and I've had no interest in trying the other offering on the market other than the WR2. By your estimation what would be a close match for the SB-A plate? Thinking 0.95mm but I wouldn't completely rule out a higher gap.
Great review (as usual)! You always seem to answer the questions I have before I ask them!lol
My current favorite razor is the Timeless Ti .68 SB. Which Wolfman head combo is most similar to that razor in terms of comfort/lack of blade feel? Thanks!
I had much the same impression with my 1.15. I was hesitant to be too hyped about it and was prepared to be maybe a little underwhelmed, and against my wishes it met all the hype.
Hello, nice review. I wanted to ask is that the mirror polish on the Wolfman razor?
How does the Wolfman WR2 compare to the Paradigm SE and the Timeless .68/.95 in terms of smoothness and blade feel?
Sharp as buggery, Jack lad! Fresh new haircut!
Hi Jack. The last Razor Burn podcast I show is back in July. Have you made others?
Maybe a question for not only you, Jack. Once you get a new badger, how do you prep the knot or do you prep at all? Would you recommend to use shampoo and conditioner before use?
Any answers?
Will you reduce your collection of soaps further ?? If yes, what’s the number you are looking at.
Wow nice looking razor a little too pricey for me I think I’ll stick KCB and get the c plate Sb or get a Gillette tech and put a razorock handle on it good review as always jack
Awesome man! Legendary razor. So would you say its like a D plate efficiency on C plate blade feel?
Benjamin Louie Yeah, that’s probably spot on to be honest.
@@TheVirtualGroomroom how did you like the razor with that blade gap you liked? Was it aggressive at all? Do you have sensitive skin or no. I’m considering getting the same blade gap
Love the Darwin handle!! Was that the mirror or basic polish? I got a basic polish WR2 about 6 months ago and was blown away by how the finish was. Great razors.
Just saw you mention it was the mirror finish.
Friends in Portland said you got rain & thunder last night, hope it was enough to quench some fires but not enough to trigger mud/rock slides and flooding.
BTW, ThatDarnRob is dead, long live Chisel & Hound! Rob opened new website and rebranded yesterday 😊
This WR2 razor has pretty much been a myth to me. lol I've heard of it but never seen it until now, and being that one of my absolute mainstay razors is a Tech, I was quite surprised to see such a striking resemblance in the design. Especially after all the 'Lupo' discussions. Haha. Regardless, if it shaves as well as the Gillette Tech does, you've got yourself a fantastic razor. However, If you ever happen to go looking for a Tech, I highly recommend you use a heavier handle with it. The 'Razorock Radio Knob' transforms it to another level.
Actually, I wonder if there are any comparison reviews out there.....?
Moving onto the soap; I never thought I'd go the unscented route, but I find myself using them more and more often now because there aren't many soaps with matching EdT/P's. The added plus is if you like a particular artisans base, but not their scents, you still have the opportunity to enjoy the performance. Not to mention, as of late, whenever I get the itch to try another soap from the same artisan and same base, I feel like I'm just paying full price for a different scent. Haha.
Current stock includes Sego, Siero, and HSSC. Hopefully, the Talbot one is still a plan and I'd love a Tallow and Steel one.
Cheers for your time Jack!
Jack, have you tried the WR1? I was wondering how they compare. Thanks
I have, I much prefer this to the WR1. I felt the blade clamping on the WR1 wasn't good at all.
I just put my name on the 4-5 month waitlist for a WR2 Ti. Thanks
Jack where do you sell your soaps?
Excellent review. I kept my Charcoal Goods Lvl 2 Copper over the Wolfman. It was a great razor, fit & finish top notch just not the best for me.
same, the Charcoal Goods Lvl 2 is working out better
Which 15 soaps did you keep?
How many shaves can you get from a Wizamet blade.
I've heard of people getting up to 50!
@@TheVirtualGroomroom must be an amazing Blade, what do you think of Supermax Blue Diamond Titanium Double Edge Razor Blades.
For me no other razor maybe the raw rs 10 gives me so perfect shaves 🙂 and I tried a lot
I had the WR2 1.15 at the moment I have the 1.45 and maybe next week I get the 1.55🤪
Lukas Mundt I agree with you.I can afford to get rid of all my top brand razors but not the Raw RS10.
I don't think I could ever justify spending that much money on a razor. There's so many options out there. I just had a fantastic shave with my winning razor.
Hi Jack, any idea when I can get my aluminum Karve? If you can't give me a date let me know what's going on? Please don't tell me your going to do it in home, I can't tell you how long I've been hearing that. No disrespect but that story is really getting old my freind.
I don’t work for Karve anymore, talk to them if you want answers
@@TheVirtualGroomroom I didn't know that. Now you don't have to be biased to any one razor in your reviews LOL and no more marketing vids for Karve and Zingari if you know what I mean. It was so obvious to me. No more vested interest in your vids. I like that Jack!
I own 2 Karves and love them. But the way that business is planning for the future? Who Friggin owns a business, can't put out orders yet goes on vacations twice a year if not more? Not Friggin me my freind. Didn't you know what you were getting into? Is the Karve any better than my 34c, GC. 84p, SS or aluminum Lupo? Hell no. Hey Jack, can you answer just these questions for me please? Chocolate or Vanilla? Seeing or hearing? Hands or feet? Sorry, it's just me being full of bullocks!
I agree, evidently full of bollocks. If you have these questions, direct them to Chris yourself. I have no interest in the operation of Karve anymore and don’t want to discuss it with anyone.
Copied from the Gillette Tech. Not the first to do so.
