Hi Sig, you have me remember to my grandfather! He gone one year after your grandfather! And he shave in the same way! Yes like a samurai but never with cut's! Watching him was something very special! To the wolf he is already very beautiful unfortunately far from my possibility! On FB there was a discussion about a wolf that would be of very high quality. It's funny how some scents are a portal to old memories.
I order a Wolfman every year for my birthday. I prefer basic matte ones which ( luckily for me) are the cheapest ones. They are very expensive, but if I gather all my BD gifts (money) and maybe add a little it's manageable. It's always about the shave for me. I enjoy shaving with an old $15 Ball End Tech just as much...

It's a really nice razor! I gather my birthday presents (money) every year and add the rest if I need to.
However it's about the enjoyment of the razor and the shave. I'm just as happy using a $15 vintage Ball End Tech.

Hello Sig, my good buddy. As always, a very nice and informative video. Especially for me this time as I'm in the process of ordering with Wolfman. I've been waiting for the invoice for 10 days now so I can pay. Will probably last until after Easter. I already have a used WR2 with 1.25 gap and the WRH2 in 90 mm length in the hollow version and in the standard polish, which I find very good. Here in Germany, there is a legend that the higher the gap, the softer and more efficient the shave becomes with Wolfman safety razors. I just ordered this year's wedding anniversary, birthday and Christmas present all at once from Tara von Wolfman. I get a WR2 with 1.45 gap with close comb, WRH7 hollow, 98mm handle in mirror polish. In addition, I also get a Darwin handle in mirror polish. I hope this safety razor is worth the very, very high price. I had previously tested some Wolfman safety razors that shaving friends gave me. Unfortunately, I didn't have a very satisfactory shaving result with the small gap dimensions. Therefore now 1.45 gap! May the force be with me!

I haven't dared to go into higher gaps, but my Yaqi Sentinel 1.50mm gap is smooth as butter if that's any indication.
I have just received this years BD gift and it will be released on Thursday. (Hint: Wolfman's newest release).

I know they're knock-offs. The shave and the fit&finish is nowhere near in my option.
The only thing have in common is the name-ish. Geometry, fit&finish feel is completely different. The Lupo lacks the corner fangs, angle and blade alignment.
I'll show them in next Tuesday's shave... If I remember... ;O)

Like you, Shulton Old Spice was my Dad's soap/scent (don't know about Grandpa), so it always brings back memories of my childhood and Dad's shaving with his SuperSpeed, mug soap and cream Boar brush. It's certainly upto each shaver/Hobbyist/collector what budget level they are willing to use for purchasing, personally my budget level for razors (and brushes) is below US$100 and most are below US$50 and these days I'm focusing on lighter razors (mostly Aluminum) due to arm and hand strength issues (aging I guess...lol).👍🤠

I agree. Every year around my birthday I get one really expensive razor. I'm not good at it, but I try to be more picky with my buys, now. I'm at around 350 razors now and I'm putting on the brakes. I rarely use my $250+ razors on my channel because people start discussions about price vs quality of the shave every time. For me it's about the enjoyment and the razor itself. Not the price. I enjoy the $15 Gillette 60's Tech as much as my $700 Wolfman, but that doesn't mean that I cannotenjoy the Wolfman. It's about the shave.

Nice! I hadn't been following the shaving hobby for a number of years when I grew a ZZ Top beard and when I saw Wolfman Razors on Ebay, I thought at those prices that they had gone out of business. Even when I got back into wet shaving it took me a while to realize that they were still making razors. Haha! They do make great razors and they are finished very nicely. I should probably try a tech sometime and see if that's a razor that's in my wheelhouse. Which tech is the most efficient and smooth in your opinion?

The Tech has been made in three aggressions. .020'', .025'' and .030''.
Tobins made a great vid about it. I might remember it incorrect, but the Contract Techs and the early Canadian ones were all .030''

If you were reviewing a Seiko, Hamilton, or Tissot you'd have people complimenting you on how affordable it is. If you were reviewing a guitar you'd need to spend at least $1000 to get an acoustic guitar with all solid woods. Everything is relative. One person criticizes an expensive razor, but has a motorcycle they spend lots of money customizing.
I like how you get just as excited over a newly acquired Gillette Tech as a Wolfman. You appreciate both and enjoy both.
