Great reaction. Actually, you have it backwards. All That Remains give you In Flames vibes. In Flames has been around since the early 90s. One of the seminal melodeath acts, and probably the band that popularized the genre along with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates. Early 2000s metalcore bands (All That Remains, I Killed the Prom Queen, Darkest Hour, As Blood Runs Black) yoinked the leads, harmonized guitars, and solos from melodeath bands and added breakdowns and some hardcore influences.
