Not for modeling though. Terrible hair and make-up. Aged her 20 yrs. Great for family or yearbook... not professional modeling

Stylistic preferences differ. The important thing is that there were multiple phot choices and the defendant chose that photo as part of the package. So whether it's actually stylistically good or not is a moot point.

I’m a photographer and I willfully say what they paid is highway robbery. Any shoot that costs four figures should be a wedding or something similar.

It was a professional photographer. The Senior package is priced and not free.
@@L.Spencer I charge way less and I get shoots regularly. And I do graduation/senior photos. Batch editing makes things much quicker. Definitely not saying it should be free or anything of the sort.

It's her manipulation tactic. When someone criticizes her or she doesn't get her way, the "Oh, tee-hee-hee, I'm just a silly, bubble-headed mom, go easy on me because I'm so cute" act usually pulls her through.

I used to work for Lifetouch and I had a parent who HATED every picture I took. During the shoot, they said, "Cant you take a good picture?!" and I said, "I just take the photo, you made the kid."

She only mentioned one being bad and it’s subjective.
She has a close up view
Her hair has a natural red tinge and the photos weren't edited yet. In the edited photos, the daughter's hair looks exactly as it does in real life. The fuzziness is because the camera focused on her face, not her hands. It was a "vignette" that may or may not have been successful. But, when doing a shoot, not every pose/photo looks perfect. That's why the photographer did so many.
Wasn’t a good vignette cause the vignette took up more of the photo than she did
Exactly my hair has a natural red tinge. I have photos taken of me on the same day and in some I look blonde and in others my hair looks red, it depends how the light hits my hair.
@@Xxsorafan And yet, it's one of the few the customers chose out of hundreds of options. They can't claim it was a bomb when they had deemed it one of their favorites.
Anyone who shoots professionally knows that there is almost never any photo that doesn't need to be adjusted. Add to that the matter of immaturity, personal taste and irrational vanity and narcissism and you have a perfect storm for conflicts of taste. This is why I NEVER work for others ever. I create work and sell them directly.
If I pay over a thousand dollars on a single photoshoot, I hope the photographer will be professional enough to pick up the phone when I call with these concerns to clear things out
It's hard to see JJ and the mom criticize those lovely pictures. Shooting through leaves is common and artistic.

The blur in front of the subject is absolutely a desired effect for artistic photography. The pictures are gorgeous IMHO, easy to work out the red by duplicating the layer, lowering the saturation then erasing the lowered saturation layer from the rest of the photo. Love those photos.

I’m a photographer and this episode is driving me absolutely wild. The photo Judy said is no good looks like a fantastic photo. It’s an artistic take to shoot through the leaves. Hearing the mom insult all the photos of her daughter is so sad. This is infuriating
Exactly, and I mean for non photographers, cell phones even allow you to get the same effect.
Sometimes Judy doesn't have a clue what she's talking about and makes a fool of herself. But that's fine. We can enjoy that.

The blurred effect looked good. It's a perspective and layering effect. Give the idea you're looking at the subject outside at a glance through some trees. I don't see the complaint considering it's just one of many and that picture is a little more unique.
Mean mom Defendant is the kind of woman who's going to frame this humiliation as "we've appeared on national television.....oh Judy is only mean for the cameras; she's actually a good friend of mine."

I'm a little biased since I used to do some photography but her hair is gonna depend on lighting since it has so much variation with the blonde shade. Also they have seen her work before it's not a surprise how she does her art to them.

I have done senior portraits for many years. Two observations. One if someone writes you a bad check, as this essentially is, you take it to law enforcement since doing so is committing a fraud. In our jurisdiction the Sheriff will handle it with no hassles on your part. 2) The photographer doesn't need clients like this. They are nasty, mean and hard to deal with. Too many people are happy with what you do for you to have to deal with fools like that.
They probaly try to find a reason not to pay for every occasion. I pity whoever is involved if and when there is a wedding.
1) was not a bad check, it was canceled by the Karen MOM! 2) Agreed about the Photographer does not need the Karen clients.
A check cancellation isn’t the same thing as writing a bad check. It’s not a crime hence why they are in civil court.

When I was in high school all the guys had a choice of 3 tuxedo jackets and shirts and ties to put on( which ever fit) for the picture, then you took it off and the next guy put it on , the girls had a choice of 3 formal dresses that they slipped on and when done the next girl put it on.
It depends. At many schools, the ones that are contracted by the school for the yearbook have a more standard/uniform look like you described. However, parents also hire photographers to do photoshoots for upcoming proms, graduations and such. I have been out of high a long time, and my parents paid for a photoshoot when I graduated from high school. Many of my cousins’ parents did too. Have you seen the graduation pictures that have big numbers of the graduation year as props?

My daughter had 20 different styles/clothes/scenes/poses. I paid $300. The pix were great, many to choose from. No way $1.200.

I've been a professional photographer for over 25 years. There is nothing glaringly bad about these photos. I thought they were going to be terrible based on what the mother was claiming but when they finally showed the photos I realized that Mom was just insane.

I’m a photographer. The one where they alleged is blurry is questionable. If she is sharp and the background out of focus, that’s normal and supposed to be that way.

Photos are lovely and professional. Defendants are the kind of people that will find fault with ANYTHING just to stiff someone else. Disgusting.
A former coworker is a photographer, and we all agree that people like the mom and her family are the absolute WORST types to deal with. Outside of being annoyingly picky about everything, they want the final products “to look at” before paying, and then all of sudden half the work isn’t good enough for them.
It’s similar to what I deal with as an artist. Someone wants a drawing specifically, and then when the final piece is revealed, they suddenly decide they practically want the whole piece redone again (e.g. “I like it, but maybe now do the pose like this instead, do these colors, and make me look ???”). Like nah, that’s what you asked for, that’s what you’re paying for, that’s what you’re getting.
The photos are beautiful. She looks prettier in the photos than in this video. Mom is making excuses to avoid paying for the service!
I wish each case is contained all in one video (like people's court) instead of divided up in different episodes where we have to go search for them...why?! Defendant's dad never said a single word..takes a special man to have the patience to be married to that woman.

As a photographer the photo judge judy put up and said it wasn't okay. It's actually a highly requested photo. Blur everything at the front and just focus on the person.

Karen printed the emailed pictures and the colors are not going to be correct. The DPI is not the same and when RED is in the picture an inkjet home printer is going to tint everything else. None of the other pictures provided by the photographer had issues with red hair.
What mom calls fuzzy is probably a from soft focus filter. They are used either to hide skin imperfections, or to add an ethereal quality to the photo. The photos look gorgeous.
My senior pictures back in 1983 where taken at Sears. I only had my picture taken for the year book at the studio.
I wish my senior portraits looked that pretty.
