Thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to add it to my network for weeks. (It was in a house I moved into.) You're the first person who's actually explained it.
Have most recently moved into a bungalow that has installed by the previous owner a wired in wall Nest thermostat which I didn't have a clue how to operate. Your excellent video has given me a great deal to work with and I shouldn't be cold this winter. Many thanks.
Very info video as you mentioned for beginners. I was bit sceptical to buy it but the way you explain it i think i can do it . I will buy it now thank you
The initial setup is not strictly correct, the usb lead used in this video is for the stand which you buy separately. The back plate the nest connects to is for wall mounted nest devices which is hard wired in replacing a mechanical stat. The rest of the video is very good 👍
Excellent walkthrough. We've having a new boiler fitted next week as the old boiler packed up on Christmas Eve (as it would!). The engineer recommended Nest as it can interface with Alexa. Is it easier using the app than the Nest unit itself?
Hi mate Great video I’ve had a quote for someone to buy and install 1 of these However after watching your video I think I can do it myself . But 1 question I have a Worcester Bosch combi boiler . Will the nest connect to its receiver that’s on the boiler already or will I have to have someone install a different receiver Be great if you could get back to me Thank you Glen
Hi, thanks for the video. Recently we moved into the home. which already had NEST thermostat. I can see its connected to the boiler and when turn the dial temp.. it works.. but how do i connect this nest to my account? How i can link this NEST thermostat to my account/APP? Thanks
Yes, the heat link this thermostat connects to, normally in the airing cupboard, has a button in the middle to manually operate the nest in the event of no WiFi Same with the Nest E which is stand mounted and is for combis
So my questions are as follows: 1. I've set a schedule to come on and it was well over the room temperature but the thermostat didn't come on? 2. What happens after the time has passed, how do I set it to go off? 3. I've had it 1 year now and the auto schedule has not set up anytimes for me should I have expected this?
@@GeekStreet oh.. ok! how come on a normal thermostat you can turn it to 0? does it mean if it’s on 9 it’s always on in one way or another? there are times in the day where the heating isn’t set on but my kids rads are still hot.. is that normal?
@@danielatabor9130 9 degrees in a home is really cold. If your rad's are still warm with the heating on then it doesn't sound like its been installed correctly, best to get a plumber in to check it.
The nest is pretty terrible at customization and service reminders. There's no filter change reminders/filter efficiency measurement. There's no 5 day forecast. The fan can only be turn on manually if you have cooling or heating selected. [The auto fan feature is pointless because the heating & cooling feature is on]. There's no separate cool or heating features for seasons at different times. e.g. setting Cooling to 78°F @11:00am, but forcing to set heating simultaneously. (I understand as long as cooling is on it'll do cooling temps) but the issue is now i gotta create an entire different time for winter season. Why not have the two separate temperatures settings -OR- have two different times for heat&cool ?!

Thanks, the app it definitely easier to navigate through.
does it work with just nest and no external devices to communicate between the boiler and the nest?
can it be programmed before connecting ie; out of the box with no connections and then plugged in?
Hi how can we set the timer as it doesn’t seem to be coming on when we set it for
I have atmos intercombi boiler he32, will it work ?
Can it be used and controlled on two phones?
Yes it can, and by multiple people
Great video

Thanks, no you would have to replace the receiver on the boiler.
Hi, is it normal that COOL option is not showing on the screen? How to operate it to cool option? I hope you can help me. Thank you
Thank you!

Thats the minimum you could just turn it off.

Hi mate, how do you connect to the boiler? Many thanks....kevin
Check this video I show the whole process in there:

What the hell does "Eco" mode do? 9 degrees!? I don't really get it...
why does the nest app get such mediocre reviews ? Is there an alternative ??
I love you

Very basic video with some errors. Not what you expect from a geek
I wish I never bought the nest. It’s shite.
Heat set to 68
Cool set to 75
Fantastic job at not describing what the settings do
