I can not tell how many times I have thought to myself "Oh I will remember what that is because of this or that " 2 weeks later or perhaps longer if said jar gets pushed to the back of the shelf ....."what the heck is that? I dont remember canning that" It becomes sup-prize night lol Thanks for sharing!
Hi i just found you and i have to say you are about my favorite canner ive seen i started this canning education years ago but life got in my way so i thought time to get back at it so i think im going to enjoy your channel. Ive never pressure canned so i bought one but still battling the nerves lol
Awe, thank you! And welcome! Im no expert but I was taught by an expert. Lol! My husbands 70 year old aunt Bessie got me started on canning. When we first started she would not even let me in the same room with the PC canner. Then I bought my own and it sat for two years! The very first thing I canned in it was carrots. If I can do it I know that you can too!
@@wrightfamilyhomestead yes ive had it for a couple months just unboxed it the other day and so i didnt chicken out i took my meat out of freezer i do have a question i dont have enough to fill the canner is that ok to do tomorrow is the day
@@lindakeyes9709 you can always find something else to add in, or even can water to have for emergencies. But if I am a jar or two short I will go ahead and process what I have.
@@wrightfamilyhomestead thanks unfortunately lufe called covid got in the way now i have to come up with a quick easy plan so my meat doesnt get wasted
My chickens nor turkeys nor geese eat my blackberries. In one way I’m glad because the bushes are laid over on the ground. The chickens will hid under them but don’t eat them .
Can I water bath can a mix of my garden fruit? I want to use raspberries, loganberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, oranges and apples. Is it safe to can those together? I dont add water , just sugar ... That's my stewed summer fruit mix, but I want to water bath can it this year, and not freeze it . Thanks ... 😊
I believe you can do that. Just process according to the longest canning time for the fruit. For example, peaches would probably take longer that raspberries. Find the fruit with the longest processing time and then use that time. Thats what I would do!
@@ItDoesntMATTERwhatYourNameIS depending on the type of fruit you have, and the amount of sugar you are willing to use, you can even prepare a simple syrup to can the fruit in. Here we are trying to limit our sugar intake. I tried canning peaches with no sugar and they did not hold up well. But those that have a simple syrup or a small amount of sugar added stayed vibrant in the jars and held up very well.
Awesome! 🫐🍓🍒 I am so excited to have found your channel for a variety of reasons. First, I enjoyed this video and look forward to watching the rest you have done and all upcoming videos. The second reason is that although I currently live in Texas, I am from Missouri and my maiden name was Wright. There is a good chance that we may be related! I am getting a new channel up and going and will subscribe to you from there. (Live, Love, Laugh) is the name of the channel but I only have my intro there so far.
That is exciting! We will be watching for your channel! I have lived a few different places, but there is no place like home sweet home. My husbands branch of the family tree isnt very big, but I bet there is relation somewhere along the way! Welcome cousin! 😁
Lovely made fruit syrups can be used to add to yummy home made yogurts 😀
Helpful thanks.🙋🇭🇲

Thank you for joining us!
Quick question: I am new to canning. I noticed you don't sanitize the jars and the lids before canning. Please clarify.
I was everything thoroughly before I begin filming. I allways remind everyone to make sure everything is clean before beginning.
How long did you water bath can the blueberries
Do you cover the jars completely with water?
Yes!

@@wrightfamilyhomesteadThanks for replying so soon. I have to research canning times online, I can't buy the ball book of canning in the UK !
Did you add sugar to the strawberries? Or not? Did I miss how much?
Yes maybe a tbs. Not very much!
You can always adjust to your taste. Happy canning and thanks for watching!

I think she initially said she added a tablespoon or two. And then she clarified it was half a cup.

It’s just fine
Your sound is too low....I've checked my settings here....they are on max and I can barely hear you!
