    My chickens nor turkeys nor geese eat my blackberries. In one way I’m glad because the bushes are laid over on the ground. The chickens will hid under them but don’t eat them .

    I can not tell how many times I have thought to myself "Oh I will remember what that is because of this or that " 2 weeks later or perhaps longer if said jar gets pushed to the back of the shelf ....."what the heck is that? I dont remember canning that" It becomes sup-prize night lol Thanks for sharing!

      Awe, thank you! And welcome!
      Im no expert but I was taught by an expert. Lol! My husbands 70 year old aunt Bessie got me started on canning. When we first started she would not even let me in the same room with the PC canner. Then I bought my own and it sat for two years! The very first thing I canned in it was carrots. If I can do it I know that you can too!

      @@lindakeyes9709 you can always find something else to add in, or even can water to have for emergencies. But if I am a jar or two short I will go ahead and process what I have.

    Can I water bath can a mix of my garden fruit? I want to use raspberries, loganberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants, oranges and apples. Is it safe to can those together? I dont add water , just sugar ... That's my stewed summer fruit mix, but I want to water bath can it this year, and not freeze it . Thanks ... 😊

    • @wrightfamilyhomestead
      @wrightfamilyhomestead  Год назад

      I believe you can do that. Just process according to the longest canning time for the fruit. For example, peaches would probably take longer that raspberries. Find the fruit with the longest processing time and then use that time. Thats what I would do!

    Awesome! 🫐🍓🍒 I am so excited to have found your channel for a variety of reasons. First, I enjoyed this video and look forward to watching the rest you have done and all upcoming videos. The second reason is that although I currently live in Texas, I am from Missouri and my maiden name was Wright. There is a good chance that we may be related! I am getting a new channel up and going and will subscribe to you from there. (Live, Love, Laugh) is the name of the channel but I only have my intro there so far.

      @@ItDoesntMATTERwhatYourNameIS depending on the type of fruit you have, and the amount of sugar you are willing to use, you can even prepare a simple syrup to can the fruit in. Here we are trying to limit our sugar intake. I tried canning peaches with no sugar and they did not hold up well. But those that have a simple syrup or a small amount of sugar added stayed vibrant in the jars and held up very well.
