Let me explain why the man-serpent's stab attack breaks the wall in Sen's fortress, since GamersWeekend didn't know. All attacks in Dark Souls have a poise damage value. This value is used to determine when an attack will stagger or knockdown a target. Every damaging affect has one, from player and enemy attacks to hazards like lava and the boulders in Sen's fortress. Boulders have a very high poise damage value to make sure the player or any enemies hit by it will be knocked down. This is actually what causes the wall to break. It's waiting for a very high poise damage value to impact it, like a barrel waiting to be hit before breaking. It doesn't check what causes the very high poise damage, just that it gets hit by something with high poise damage. It turns out that the snake's poise damage on its stab attack was made very high to make sure most, or perhaps any, player to be knocked down when hit by it. This high value is enough to trigger the wall to break. As far as I know, any source of very high poise damage will work, it's just that the man-serpent's stab attack is the most convenient. There is no player attack that has that much poise damage, but I wouldn't be surprised if some attacks from bosses or big enemies could alinteresting. I hope this explanation made sense. I'm almost sure breaking the wall is possible with R2 attack of Black Knight's Sword performed by player. Can't remember why I know it or did I ever tried it myself but if anybody is inrested - go on
Fun fact I found out today: Hidden Body works on the dogs in the Capra Demon fight. Basically, it allows you to actually start the fight without getting killed.
Another youtuber actually posted a challenge video where they beat Dark Souls with just the catalaysts melee attacks, and god damn did their melee actually do insane damage.
Fun fact: while projectiles can't go through walls(which is why sorceries can't hit the snake guarding your cell), but mist attacks can. For pyromancies that means poison/toxic mist can status the snake(and he pnly has 2hp so that's an instant ko), but it also means there IS one sorcery that can kill the snake: dark fog. Getting it means beating both the sanctuary guardian and artorias without crystal sorcery and then maddashing through most of the oolacile township, but it is *possible*
"silver knight archer parry then use a soul Spear" ....or you know use that spell you got, hidden body, walk up there and the archers won't see or shoot you. Just get close enough to lock on and soul Spear will one hit kill him. No need for parry

tip for the capra demon boss fight, use the skulls to lure it into a wall, if doing a sorcery only, use decoy spell. it trivializes the fight, no joke.
Probably you already know but when I see someone using moonlight butterfly's soul I feel the urge to say it lol. Moonlight butterfly's soul gives only 1200 souls when consumed, however, giving it to frampt gives you 8k.

I tried this but had to use reinforced club in very beginning (rats near solaire) and to finish off quelaag (ran out of spells when she was 10% hp). From that point on I used only sorceries. I didn't think of getting silver serpent ring for more souls, it was a pain to buy all logan spells in Dukes but everything worked out in the end. I used tin crystal catalyst instead for more damage but halved spells usage, but now after watching this I might go back to something that doesn't reduce the amount of spells, I really was running out often while clearing some areas in Oolacile. Great video!
I did beat it with only sorcery it was easier than with swords... Power within / damage ring + you 1 or 2 shot most bosses.. + crystal soul spear + homing
How about Dark Souls with Consumables only? (Thrown items only, no bows or spells) And please in a video like this, not a livestream, these are way more fun to watch and come back to again later.
Pretty sure you can have multiple "souls spear" once you beat the duke archive. One by logan in firelink, a second by his aprentice after he leave firelink and a last one from logan in the archive. I'm pretty sure this is accurate.
Seeing you run through all those pendulums at the beginning gets my anxiety up like nobody's business. I would rather climb in and out of Blighttown back and forth between each entrance twelve times in a row, than go through Sen's Fortress once.
The bonus souls from CSSR works the same as the mimic hat. if you can equip both after killing a boss before you get the souls, you'll get a ton of extra souls (44% extra, they stack)
A tip for Manus with magic , even without dusk crown, Red tear stone ring and 4 spells to kill him crystal soul spear and soul spear and instead of dusk crown I was using Gwyndolin mask because I forgot to get dusk's crown in my magic run, along with Big hat's catalyst that halves the spells but more damage. Yea this run that got soft locked at Priscilla :')
I like all the music that you incorporated whilst playing this game. Especially Kingdom Hearts. Since there’s so many comparisons for the two games(not to mention a Kairi mod for Dark Souls 3), but I do oftentimes find myself playing Kingdom Hearts music when I play Dark Souls. If you want to be specific, Tension Rising, Vim and Vigor, and Sinister Sundown. Kingdom Hearts= more happier and heartfelt Dark Souls = more depressing and sad Heartless. Hollow. Undead. Nobody. Hearts. Souls.

4:38 I don’t think Capra Demon was too difficult. Using an upgraded claymore or BK weapon allows you too have enough damage and swing distance to kill the dogs in 1 swoop and the boss itself is not too difficult. Of course none of what I’m saying is relevant considering your doing sorcery only but for anyone else that’s my tip for the fight.
I'm disapointed that you didn't one shot Gwyn with dark bead. I did this kind of a chalange long time ago and one shot Dark Bead was the highlight of it Kappa.
Pretty sure you can get the cell key with only magic by fighting the crystal enemies inside and getting one of them to stab the man-serpent through the bars.
This is more the way that you first learn the game before you try melee rather than a "challenge". I imagine the hardest thing is resisting the urge to pick up a sword to take out the weaker mobs quicker
Only thing I would add is to use Yearn; the areas you struggled Capra and Garden are trivialized with Yearn. Sorcery is EZ mode, only difficulty is the magic resistant enemies.

For future reference - both the Capra Demon and the dogs are distracted by Aural Decoy. Good way to quickly pick off the puppers and even up the fight

Except Manus due to his speed and resistances to dark and sorcery. The rest is a laugh but Manus is the only challange as he said
Plot twist , "it's difficult af, limited arsenal !" It's more easy to get great shield and tank everything on strength build !!!!

I recently started playing as a sorcerer and thought I'd see what a sorcery only playthrough might be like if I gave the challenge a try.
I chose the sorcerer class 10 years ago when I first played DS1. It made the game easy for me if I upgraded my INT consistently.
Came back to watch the first challenge on this channel for nostalgia after seeing the masterpiece that was Staminaless Elden Ring.

This is more the way that you first learn the game before you try melee rather than a "challenge". I imagine the hardest thing is resisting the urge to pick up a sword to take out the weaker mobs quicker

Only thing I would add is to use Yearn; the areas you struggled Capra and Garden are trivialized with Yearn. Sorcery is EZ mode, only difficulty is the magic resistant enemies.
Super powerful sorcerer cannot kill beast through iron bars. Smacks beast to death with stick. Love it.
Something I learned recently it that you can actually kill the serpent outside of your cell with Dark fog if you want to get it from the dlc
