ok wow, when she switched to poly i was actually blown away. oldschool house out of a drum loop!! Holy guacamole, there's so many possibilities with this! New favorite effect! *__* lookin forward!
Oh damn, you just taught me how to use a tool that's already blowing my mind. I've been struggling to fix some stems where my violins weren't isolated enough in the room, so they've been very difficult to pull out of the muddy mix. I made a Return track with this device in it, and paired that with external Midi from the original composition (musicians were recorded with a click track so it lines up pretty well). With just the right settings, it amounts to vocoding a signal with its intended pitches, creating a kind of subtle enhancement of the intended notes (you have to be careful, since it is an effect and not just a filter). Sounds amazing.
I’m stunned by this I dropped a drum loop into it and came out with a creepy lead. Is this additive synthesis? Great new addition Live team 🤟 Thank you
@@MikeOxmellsGrimm Not what I'm after. Push 2 lets you determine how many bars an audio clip is going to be, before you record it. No way to do that without Push 2. If I could set up a bunch of pre-determined clip lengths before recording, it would make live looping 10 times easier.
So basically is a texture synthetizer like Mutable Instruments Clouds based in Ableton now, what a beauty, will love if Ableton can add a M4L device with macro-osc like Plaits, taking in count the core firwmare is open-source, would be amazing.
Hi there, Spectral Resonator is only available in the Suite edition of Live. You can compare Live's different editions and what features they contain on the following page: bit.ly/413jnfP We hope this helps!
All sounded good until you turned up HF damp so that the higher frequencies "get turned down more quickly." But this is just personal taste, lol. Good video.
Sorry but that's nothing new every vocoders have been doing this for years. I've ask you to improve the looping process in the session mode . With things like replacing sections of a loop , changing the volume of that loop without having to use an external editor. Or a must extend the loop. And many more things that I describe in my email...

New favorite effect! *__* lookin forward!
its "Remind Me" by Royksopp somehow :D
I had the exact same feeling! The entire first part i was thinking “this effect is useless” hahaha
absolutely! for the first 5 minutes I thought... nah, 8bit, boring, not fancy... but the poly mode? WOW!
It's crazy fun!!
You can also create the same kind of effect with the old Resonator effect.
That granular setting is gonna bring about a whole new four Tet album, I can feel it already
or Nicolas Jaar
it's all just a bunch of sine waves man, that's all it is man, I'm freakin' out dude you gotta help me...
It's a sine from God.
Learn Fourier transform dude.
That still fucks with me, fuckin harmonics n shit
every sounds is sine waves
This is a great teacher. So easy to follow and literally learned the entire plug-in watching just once. Do they have a channel with more tutorials?
Love this. Can't wait for mess around with all the new toys 🎛
1:01 "you can see the sine wave looks like a..." I see why Ableton didn't invite Underbelly for narration this time.
Lawl
Phallus
Underbelly? Soft White Underbelly, the guy that interviews the people in LA?
@@thr0ne1997 No, look up "you suck at producing"

i can already hear the melodic riddim coming from the Granular feature. This is really cool

DAMN!! Spectral resonator is so dope
the granular option is just madness :D thanks
Creativity to a whole new level...... the end result is fascinating.
Making drum sounds with a synth? Nah mate, we're making synth sounds with drums.
can't wait to try this out
This is so sweet... love the potential in this effect!
My favorite part is the hypnotic voice of the talking lady.
I'm like... 70%? sure that it's a real person and not a synthesized voice? 80% maybe?
Man, ableton just folded my corpus and resonator bag of tricks I’ve been developing for the past few years into a single sweet spot effect...
What can Ableton not do?
Allow you to set the length of an audio clip before you record that. This can only be done through Push.
@@rhyskt you could set a punch in and out point to specify a length of recording, you can do that on any computer
@@MRGO0OSE what about in session view?
@@rhyskt record in arrangement view then drag the clip to session view?

Great tutorial. Lots of creative possibilities. Thanks.
super transparent and easy-to-understand tutorial! thank you very much! who was the instructor by the way?
5:47 omg I just realized this is how they did the intro for 'Remind Me' by Royksopp
One of the coolest effects in existence!
Sully just had his secret break trick thrown into the open hahaha
These are excellent tutorials. I love how inspiring the lessons are.
Sounds like Caribou's Never Come Back. Cool stuff
so basically... how to turn white noise... into a very frickin cool synth :O
this is just incredible
Everywhere I go, there's always something to remind me
only available on Suite 🙄
This is MAGIC
Please add a linear mode to EQ 8

This sounds like "Opal" from Bicep!!!! I wonder if they somehow achieved this effect via other plugins?
Now this is what im talking about!
Thanks for the informative video. I have no idea if I will ever use the resonator, though 😆
I'd like to hear it on the human voice.. cool demo!
you have to try it! It sounds soooo dope!
@@lynax2806 I’ve got to upgrade to studio first. I just purchased Ableton Standard (coming from Logic) so I’m super new to this world, but loving it!
@@timdanyo898 ah I see
27 minutes into this video he uses it on his voice. Sounds awesome

thank you Ableton very poggers
Brutal.
Throughout this whole demo, my ears keep telling me I'm listening to "Remind Me" by Röyksopp
Speechless.
I'm sampling the vocals!
Now this... this is exciting!
your voice is amazing
I just liked a song on Spotify because I thought it was playing, but it was just the end of this video!
“A simple drum break”
(Plays the Amen Break). Right. I thought I’d hear four-on-the-floor or something
what's up with all the audio drop-outs?
I’m new in it.
How can add the sine wave?
I mean I can’t found the way to do it.
Can somebody help to me with ?
Wooo! I'm super excited about this one! Anyone knows how to use this device when you are not tuned in A=440hz? Thank you!
is this only available in suite? I have Standard but can't find it

That's dope
what you mean by It Sees?
Its like a reverse vocoder, this is so sick
Sounds like a more versatile vocoder
amazing tutorial
Really FUN TASTIC!
Neat. You sound a bit like a young Shodan sometimes.
New sonic possibities, hell yeah!
I assume that you must have some kind of instrument in your Midi Input track, I tried without it and it works the same :>)
Wow, this is new! You've just gave a fancy name to vocoder!
There is no carrier wave here. This is far from a vocoder.
So it's basically an exciter I believe.
❤️❤️❤️ Granular ❤️❤️❤️
Wow this is so cool
Dude yes.
This is the octatracks comb filter on steroids 😍😍
YES
totally not gonna use this as a vocoder
❤️
whole song with 1 track
this is f*in sick!!
Crazyyyy

....and relax

Simple noob here: can someone explain how to create a "MIDI input" track? A MIDI track whose sole focus is grabbing input from a controller?

LONE????
This video gives weird vibes at the start, she sounds like a AI talking about strange robotic noises that she is making.

What have they done to you?! 😅
