    I have heard some people do their next pours before the resin is fully cured while the layer below is like 1/3rd cured in order to avoid that tiiiny line of demarcation between the layers when they do clear projects like this or those pyramid molds. Have you ever tried this method? I haven’t done any big projects yet that require multiple pours so I want to learn as much as I can before I do! Love these crystal towers, this one turned out so beautiful! 😍 I like the blue ones you did in a previous video as well!

      I have heard that too but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I hope to test it out soon. I haven't been able to time it just right where I can pour 8 hours after the previous layer has been poured. I usually pour in the afternoon and by the time 8 hours hits I'm asleep or too tired 😅 but it's on my list to try asap 🤗

      @@naptimecreations I will let you know for sure! I’m going to try doing it in a single pour, I want to test the limits of this new resin. A wood turner a watch uses it and I’ve seen him pour it at least that deep. I am going to refrigerate it though, to slow the cure and hope it doesn’t go exothermic on me 😆 Refrigeration worked the last time I tried it and it wasn’t a deep pour resin. I have an extra little fridge that I’m not using for food. I’ll let you know if it works. Thanks for all your help!

    Why three layers? Why not pour all at once? I could understand if you were making the tower with three colors (which would look amazing, by the way), but for all one color... I just don't understand. If the concern would be over the iridescent pieces sinking, it could be avoided by just waiting a little longer for the resin to slightly thicken before pouring.

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching, In my previous resin tower video. I did pour it all in one layer and it didn't set up properly because it was poured too deep in a single pour. The casting epoxy I use shouldn't be poured over 2 inches per application.
      This is the video where I poured it in 1 layer
      ruclips.net/video/I_6YVO5jcPo/видео.html
      It was sticky in some spots. In my previous video I poured one of these in 1 layer and another in 3 layers. The one with 3 layers set up perfectly the other one done in 1 pour had sticky spots. So I did 3 layers on this piece to avoid the sticky spots.
      If you have an epoxy that can be poured that deep then definitely give it a try. I have yet to try one that can be poured 5 + inches deep in a pour.
