A lot of the new perks are pretty cool also and should make their way to the full game. I also like how you can invest into a weapon to change things like barrel/mag ect but not the main perks so RNG still matters. Having legendary and Mythic class barrels and mags is also a cool idea imo.
I've been playing for several days now as well, personally I actually like it, definitely feels more "Genshinified" and more Korean MMO like, but there's a surprising amount of content and depth to the activities. We got a TCG, Sparrow Racing, PVP, Raid-lites, Strikes, Roguelites, and more. It's crazy some of the features this thing has in an Alpha compared to D2's many year long fumbles. As for the story, I mostly agree, it's just cool seeing some of the other locations, but c'mon, Paul, how cool is that Pacific Rim giant?
I think this is the best lens we have so far for what a D3 could look like: not from a gameplay perspective, but specifically from a new game hype cycle and getting fresh ons it. Rags to riches is one of the biggest concepts in RPGs and gaming in general. We've been so rich for so long in D2, that I think there is a hunger to go back to zero and have new ways to become the ultimate guardian.
I reject it already if destiny rising is A Proof of concept for D3. I wa s already worried about mixing gacha into destiny or even giving permission to an outside body would inspire the business heads to follow suit simply because it prints money and mobile games have broader bases and that destiny And Bungie have long been existing in a constant state of mismanagement resulting in a game that has, for the last decade, been stuck in a constant state of "Mid" and were flat out told not to "over deliver" to their players. They create the circumstance and might look at success elsewhere and try to borrow that success ultimately nuking the aspects of its core identity that made people interested in destiny in the very first place: the idea of making your own character in a mysterious fantasy sci fi world and overcoming massive odds
@@deadclicks Because the grinding aspect of Destiny is rather unimportant compared to its universe, combat system and encounter design. Y6 had quite a few flaws, but something that felt great about it is that you could just grind a bit at the beginning of the year and just be good for the rest of it. No power increases, very rewarding activities and as little friction as possible between you and just shooting at stuff. Flash forward to now, when they are quite literally reverting quality of life (in the form of removing craftable Seasonal weapons and increasing the Power cap with Seasons again), and they are about to add yet another layer of grinding with the upcoming weapon, armor and stat updates with no regards to the fact that all of it will just power-creep the game further. I don't want to grind the same activities over and over for loot, I want to do them because they can be absolutely excellent, like Raids and Dungeons always are; the variety comes from having different builds and playstyles, and having barriers between this and the players in the form of grinding cannot be a good thing.
I think it just feels fresh because there are bunch of things that are in just the Alpha that even years later we don’t have in D2. Some changes to some systems are welcome too like the lack of Titan/Hunter/Warlock. Lots of things I feel Bungie can take advice on
I am older but I played Destiny 1 & 2. I don’t play consoles or PC anymore as I am at work a lot with a lot of downtime. So this is perfect for me. I’ll definitely be playing this when it comes out and hopefully get into the betas sooner!
The real test for Destiny Rising will come a few months after launch when content is still being added, but the ability to get pulls starts drying up. People familiar with these type of games know not to blow their load month one. The people who are new though will probably start dropping like flies once they realize their maxed character isn't as good as the newly released five star.
I'm anxious to see the fallout when people whom are defending this gacha game get body slammed by the sheer amount of micro-transactions and finally get their reality-check and realize that the git gud doesn't work here, only the git rich (especially when they get owned by some 12 year old in the crucible who had no actual skill besides their parents having a black credit card). It will be spectacular.
Been playing the last few days since the alpha dropped. I will preface everything with this I am a lapsed D2 player. I have no motivation to play it anymore. Rising has been such a nice breath of fresh air. Do I think mechanically it holds a torch to d2? No. But thats kinda what I enjoy. It's early days so i know all of this will eventually change but weapons feel so much more impactful without having to chase specific perks to feel competitive. On that point strikes and stuff taking 5 mins feels nice. Some strikes in d2 felt like a walking sim or a sparrow race if sparrows could come out. These are so quick regardless that it's been pretty fun to run them. The energy system is true mobile game but also it's kinda nice in a way to have a cutoff? For me anyways. PvP which was my jam in d2 well I played like 3 matches in Rising, it's not good, but like as a side thing to do on occasion I can rock it. Overall on a 1-10 scale I would be willing to give Rising in it's current state a 6 or maybe a 7. Definitely will have to see more as time goes on
@@AvaBronsonSPKRoach If you are using AdBlockPlus, you can end up with ads that paid them off to Not be blocked. The video was adless, seemless for me so it's not ingrained ads that you see, that much is clear.
I’ve been having a great time with the game. They added even a mini raid into the game already which feels insane for a mobile game. Very curious to see the future
It's ok, it actually runs decently on my phone which is a few years old, however, controls on a phone are horrific. I'd fiddle around with it more if it were a PC port (which was a question I got on a survey about it) but after about 30 minutes on my phone my neck and fingers hurt. It's sad that D2 fans are so starved for something new and innovative that a gatcha game has got our attention.
Buddy of mine and myself who stopped playing D2 are so down for this. I've been playing and he's been watching. We both agree that it's ridiculous how hyped for this we seem but hey it's apparently what's got us going right now
You can connect PS or Xbox controller to pretty much any phone via bluetooth. These games are usually optimized for game controllers and touch screen controls are awful.
Destiny Rising has kept me hooked the past few days. I can't say the same thing about D2. For the most part, I've checked out of D2. It's all the same thing to me. Bungie looks like they're taking the right steps with set pieces coming in Frontiers (and everything that we know about Frontiers atm). Destiny Rising has set pieces already! I like that I was able to start from scratch again with a different character. On top of that, a new weapon system, leveling system, new environments, new story, MMO elements like a social hub, a space for your clan, etc. I can go on and on. Destiny Rising is a breath of fresh air. I know I'm not alone with this sentiment based on the people I've talked to in the DR discord server.
All that stuff is cool, too bad it's buried in a game that's gonna drown you in micro transactions the later you get. I guarantee when we get to the golden path stuff our progress is gonna grind to a halt. I also get pissed the fucking story keeps locking me out for something as dumb as a daily reward or bounty requirment, I wanna play more now not tomorrow. Yesterday I logged in and was only able to do a SINGLE chapter before immediately being locked out again requiring a day 4 login bonus to proceed. I also absolutely hate having energy to get rewards, I did the fucking activity so give me the samn loot, I wanna grind. I'll come back and grind more tomorrow by choice but them telling me I have to stop today but can resume tomorrow makes me wanna just stop completely. When I get into the mood to grind I just wanna keep going and some stupid energy system that will require real money to bypass is an instant no thanks for me. I do really like the weapon system though and feel it's done much better than D2. Being able to invest into a weapon and then being able change barrels and mags which have legendary and Mythic versions of each available while also keeping the RNG with the main traits is a cool system imo.
@@zackphy hell yeah like Destiny 2 has never done those awful microtransactions, it just throws a list of DLCs in total and costs hundreds of dollars, with almost 90% sunset content but you have to buy it for the exotic. Hell, I can't even get my twin brother to play D2 with me. Also what you are saying about the day 4 login bonus to proceed is completely wrong. I am also in the closed Alpha, I almost cleared the raids, with everyday 1-2 hour playtime. It is extremely casual, and does NOT require any payment (I used Ikora most of the time). The dev did it because it is a Fuxxking alpha, and they fear if you proceed to fast you can find no one to play any content with. That's all. So stop spreading filthy rumors, please. There is no system for you to purchase any stamina or instant loot that can bypass your chapter and progression. Again, stop spreading filthy rumors.
@@GorksChosenTitan I honestly wonder why you and many other player comes with this defense "Oh, but D2 has MTX already"? Have you never seen the sheer scale of microtransactions of a gacha game before this? These type of games have monetization that several orders of magnitudes higher than D2's, it will make those hundreds of dollars worth of D2 stuff feel like it's free, because to get everything you will have to spend not hundreds, not even thousands but tens of thousands and potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars. Diablo Immortal had a monetization where you could potentially have to spend over half a _million_ dollars to max your character, and surprise surprise: that was made by netease too... If you think it's a rumor, then you will have a very rude awakening when the true MTX reality sets in, I'm afraid.
@@johnnywoker I play genshin impact before, spent $30 in total, had tons of fun until 4.0 I got tired and started playing Rainbow Six. So yes I know how it works.
@@johnnywoker the character that I drew (diluc, zhongli) still can make a decent team to clear the abyss until I quit the game. Diablo Immortal is another level, I agree with that, I played for 1 month and quit. But don't use DI as an example for all F2P games. I think it's a rumor, it is because from what you are saying, I am sure that you have no idea but bias on F2P games.
I'm loving the game, and i haven't been able to put it down this whole weekend. I do play D2, have been since Alpha of D1, but I haven't touched it since this was released. There are a lot of activities to do in this game, a lot more than i was expecting. The whole game is better than I was expecting and feels just like im playing D2 but on my phone. As for as materials, there really aren't a lot once you start to look at them. The ones that you had in question are used for upgrading your character level, and there's one for each element. The same goes for weapons, lower level weapons use weapon parts, and higher ones use what looks like tickets. Outside of the gatcha, i wish this is how the D2 systems were when it came to gaining power and leveling up your gear. The current state has everything handed to you, and you just start using the gun with no required investment. I will be playing this game fully come release.
I tried the Eve mobile game that NetEase also made, and you’re right, their writing it just so off. I think part of it is just that it’s mobile, so there’s not a lot of demand for good writing. But on top of that, I think it is a “lost in translation” thing where the way people speak just doesn’t feel right. And the Eve mobile game pre-dates the recent rise of AI writing, so this stuff was written by humans. It just doesn’t sound like the way English speakers speak. For Destiny, I’m wondering how much of it is AI written
As far as the currencies go, each part of the tutorial does explicitly tell you what they are for even if it’s a lot to keep track of. It’s fun so far albeit a mobile game. I think it’s time commitment is much closer to an actual game rather than a mobile, long term it needs to have incentive to keep players for more than 30 minutes a day.
I love how there are so many cool exotic weapons with really cool unique designs, Forcer did a video on it, And it made me sad that it seems like the creativity for weapon designs seems to go out the window at Bungie
Is that roguelike mode he’s talking about like the weekly reset Simulated Universe or Withering Garden modes? Like run it twice get your weekly loot and done?
@@DBMxGrimX bruh.. I deserve to have an opinion right? Or you’re gonna strip that away from me too? Everyone either liked it or didn’t and I’m in the middle.
I have played the alpha test for a few days now, and I can say that it's not bad for a mobile game. If they were to some day say "hey, let's bring Destiny Rising to consoles and PC," the game will out do destiny 2 because the supers and abilities in the Destiny Rising Alpha test are actually more fun to use than the supers and abilities on Destiny 2
I’ve been playing it as well and I agree with a lot of your points around the gotcha content, idk how I feel about it. That being said u think you need to unlock more based on your comments about ad density. I unlocked a few new modes that just played today on higher difficulty and there were way way more ads than the normal level…to the point I was questioning why full d2 on a pc can’t have hundreds of ads if my iPad can have like 50-80 ads on screen at once …plus 6 guardians. Let alone it has 12 player events and srl n all of it. There is a lot of content tbh that I was not expecting and each day seems to ad more.
Those colored orbs are for infusing your characters so you can increase their number level to the next 10 levels. The colors corresponding to the element type of the character.
It's a lot better than I thought it would be, that being said it is a mobile game at the end of the day so the gacha elements will always be nagging you in the background however us Destiny players should be used to that already...
I'm tempted to get into this for the sole purpose of not having to spend money on content. I can put up with any amount of lengthy grinds, predatory microtransactions, and gacha models so long as I don't have to pay $100+ a year to just engage with the content. While we don't know for sure, I'd wager that Rising won't paywall things like missions, dungeons, and raids since other areas are monetized instead. If they do then I'll forget about it like I did D2 but if they don't then its gonna be my new favorite game. I just wish D2 was actually f2p like that claim to be.
I’ll probably eyeball it for a while after launch, if the power creep isn’t too bad and it stays relatively f2p friendly to at least clear content maybe I’ll try it
Only incredibly dumb people need to taste crap to know that crap is crap. But there’s people out there that eat their own boogers too so if people wanna open their mouths for that bungie crap to have flowers bloom in Bungies name by all means 💁🏻♂️
I understand the criticisms of the gacha model. Flooding your currencies to make you think you could stand a chance not spending any money while getting the dopamine hits of getting new characters definitely rubs me the wrong way. I'm interested though in the memberships that I've seen in the store. If you could pay like 10 bucks monthly or something to get a decent stream of currency for pulls, I would be alright with that. The game is legitimately fun to pick up and play for a short bit (if you have a decent controller to pair) and I don't mind tossing some money if they keep the content coming.
Bare minimum what I’m hoping is a take away from this app is stuff that’s new and different that Bungie can take from this app and what the team at netease have done and add it to Destiny itself. I do think and hope that the Destiny community at least focuses on that and telling Bungie “hey not gonna play the mobile game but I really like this and wish it was in D2”. For me stuff like the guardian actually talking and having different dialogue option, the giant Mech on some Omega Supreme/Metroplex ish. Different mission types and NPC’s/side characters who do more than just sit behind a desk waiting for you to turn something in or send you out and actually can be apart of missions.
just praying it doesn't have the equivalent to rift runes like in diablo immortal which obviously ruined the reputation of D:I, an otherwise great game
Do you mean the crests that you apply to rifts, or the actual runes that you apply to gear that are rewards from I think also rifts? I've played D:I a bunch, but somewhat unfamiliar with all elements. That said, I agree that Diablo: Immortal could've been a pretty epic spin off if it weren't held back so heavily by the horrific monetization and problems.
As someone who plays games like Genshin, HSR, WuWa, AFK Journey and AFK Arena actively. The gacha system could go one of two ways, really. HSR system is you can clear all content with 1 copy of a 5 star character and a F2P weapon. Or AFK Journey, where you essentially need 8 copies of a 5 star to even make them workable for all content. I think we'll soon find out on release, really. Cause one model allows people to save currency as a F2P and still keep up. Whereas the other can be stifling if you save loads of currency and hit so many pities that you can't even use your new character.
At least it’s not canon so we don’t have to stress the lousy story/voice acting. I’ll check it out when it officially launches but I don’t really play mobile games so I doubt I’ll stick around for long.
From what you said it don't all that different from D2 especially dialogue. But from what I've seen over the pass few days I'll give Rising a shot, hopefully there's a beta or something coming next year. And a PC emulator.
I was invited to the alpha, was sent the confirmation email saying I was accepted in to it, but no one can tell me anything about getting the verification code or whatever it is to actually log in to the game. I've checked all my spam inboxes and stuff, nothing. Sucks but oh well lol.
@@delpeck2067no it is not. None of the emails I received contain any codes. The TestFlight one was only to add it to test flight. The CMs said I would get a separate email with a code.
I honestly feel like people getting into the game is gonna have a very harsh reality check once it comes out. They're blown by the gameplay and the things you can do but once they deal with the monitization, they're gonna realize how bad of an idea it is. The fact that you'll eventually need certain characters to play because of the modifiers being more suited for those kind of characters will make people either not want to play or spend hundreds of dollars.
People can complain as much as they want. I'm a destiny Veteran, people don't like the fact that a game like destiny was made mobile. I think their doing a good job so far.
This game has good ideas and some interesting takes on subclasses, but it will never be good or worthwhile due to its aggressive gacha system. If only Bungie could implement these subclasses in D2. However, their dev team is so hallowed out at this point and extremely tight on cash that I think it's in Bungie's best interest to outsource the Destiny IP to other game studios.
What paul thinks about Netease's lore is what i think about Bungie lore. Im just lost on the main game at this point and to the point i dont care. I expect id care even less about DR lore. What I think Netease is doing better is already more content than we expect from Bungie in the next 6 months. MF'ing Sparrow racing.. is coming to Rising before D2? WTF.. Netease is about to start lapping Bungie.
But here’s the thing. All that content you’re saying is there’s so much of and is fresh and all is because they’ve had years to work on it and can drop it all at once. Once the game gets going to amount of new content that will continuously drop will fall off. You’re basically criticizing bungie because they’re not dropping a whole new games worth of content every 6 months, when their development cycle is built around new content dropping every 3-4 months and an expansion once a year. They don’t get years to work on something like Netease did with this game.
@@shreyaspatel8555 I feel like netease is doing its homework and producing and Bungie quiet quit 4 years ago. Just loot at PVP, pretty much no real innovation in maybe 6 years?
I agree that they are showing the possibility of having a really good Destiny video game! It's got great bones, it hits the Destiny feels and taps the mysterious universe... but then it's not even canon. That essentially means that the whole story means nothing, and that's lame
People keep mentioning being bummed about this not being canon, but I don't really understand why that's such a turn off. It may not be in the existing destiny universe but the story matters to itself, and they have many characters from the lore to play around with without limitations of adhering to the established lore perfectly. Personally I don't see how making this canon would improve the experience of either D2 or this game, it just seems like a non factor. If that's the reason they would refuse to bring over some DR content to D2, then yeah that sucks, but the whole of DR does not have to be canon to enjoy it as its own experience, nor does it exclude crossover ability. They have fortnite and other game content in D2 so I think DR stuff would be treated at the very least as well as that stuff.
I just want to play as an Exo. Once I unlock that dude, I won't use anyone else. Not even interested in his powers. Every character I've made since the 2014 Beta has been a robot. Having over 90% of the heroes be humans is boring.
I have been having fun playing it more than I have D2 in a while. I HATE that bungee changed the seasonal story feed from weekly to all at once. Got it all done fast and didn’t realize I had to wait for the next season. I disagree with 90% of your issues. First off it’s an ALPHA….and you’re talking in the video like it’s just came out for full release.
I think it really goes to show how crazy it was for bungie to not devote more time and money towards destiny 2. We are insatiable in terms of content and I get wanting to work on other projects but here we are with a mobile game of destiny and the main thing I seem to hear is that the game modes are interesting and that people wish it was in destiny. I just don’t understand how more destiny wasn’t being made. I’ll check out marathon but destiny is the cash cow
Almost like making mobile slop is easier. Plus, it's a brand new game and the alpha has only been out for 4 days. Of course they want to have a lot of content for people to play when they first start playing. But I'm sure eventually, there will be a wall you hit where you've done all the content and have nothing left to do besides spending money to try and unlock everything or grinding, grinding, grinding your ass off to try and unlock everything.
Game looks good, pretty nice seeing how destiny could evolve. I will mostly likely never play it, can’t get around the whole gatcha pay2win garbage. Hopefully people enjoy it though.
You got lucky, I got ZERO 5 stars, I'm close to the pity one though I haven't spent any currency to buy pulls. I guess I'll just save them for the goth girl but I know I won't get it. It doesn't really matter though as progress doesn't carry over to release and there's ZERO way I'm doing all this again with the full game but with less free currency.....no thanks.
The gacha model doesn't matter. The game's target audience is the mobile community, where a majority of players obviously never played the "big" Destiny games. Mobile gamers accepted Gacha a long time ago and are used to these models in almost every genre. And titles like Diablo Immortal show these games generate more money on the mobile market than any AAA game ever could on its system(s). Therefore, Destiny Rising will sell its stuff and will be fine. The mobile market gives a damn about controversial aspects, lol.
Yeah, the need for 6 total pulls of a character that seems common (and people can correct me if it's not that way in all gacha games) is SO bloody intolerable. It's one thing to need to gamble a flimsy amount of currency to pull HOPEFULLY ONE 5-star character...you need 5 or so more to fully max them out, and to me, that's unacceptable. If you only needed one, but could use stockpiled mats and doohickeys to max them out, that'd be fine. If you had dedicated places to farm characters or gear IN ADDITION to gamble pulls, that'd be okay. Often times, there isn't. I just want to know how many "anti-Destiny 3" Destiny players there are that have been adamant about "not wanting to start over" and "hating mobile trash" that dove into this and are on the "really isn't half bad" train.
In genshin you never need 6 pulls of a character. And I don't mean it as a "yeah you can beat end game with 4 star characters", I mean that majority of 5 stars are good at their base level.
@@kamilandzi Quick question...if I want to max a character in Genshin...what do I have to do? If the answer is "gamble incessantly for 6 pulls," then your reply is kinda moot. It's NICE that you don't "need" a squad of C6 characters to "beat end game," I have had other Travellers tell me so. Along with pushing how decent base level characters can be...however as a longtime grinder in RPGs, sometimes I like to take my time and get my power levels up before tackling end game. And in gacha games like Genshin, that's basically not a feasible possibility. Last I left my own Genshin account, I used up all my wishes, I have none left. And I'll be damned if I'm swiping just to get more.
@RedShadowOfSaturn if you want to max a character in genshin you need to get it to lvl 90, get lvl 10 skills, a lvl 90 weapon, and artifacts with good stats. All of this can be done for free and all paying does here is speed up the process I don't mean to defend gachas as a good system but if you refuse to use a non c6 character and complain that getting a c6 character is dumb expensive, bro, idk what to tell you. Unironically, you are a prisoner of your own mind
@@kamilandzi Bro...listen...bro...bro? Listen bro... If you're going to keep lying, then we're done talking. Again, it's NICE that endgame can be reached without needing a C6. That said, for a host of characters in Genshin, raising their constellation means MAAAAAAAAASSIVE upgrades to their skill usage. Even the few C2's and C3's I have felt MARKEDLY better than their base felt. Again again...nice that that's not necessary...there is still a huge benefit for pulling duplicates, and ignoring that, along with the monetary investment, is highly dishonest.
I don’t think it’s fair to say that the game is not polished when this is an early alpha for a mobile game. I feel like your review is “I came into this with a negative outlook and so now my review is negative“ it’s an alpha.
When I found out this was like an alternate universe, I just uninstalled. No way I'm hitching up to another game like this. I was kinda interested when I thought at least the story was going to be related, but I can't even stomach the idea of investing in another game the way I've invested in Destiny 2 over the years. Just not enough time in life to willingly flush that much time down the toilet again.
Also, there's already a mobile game like this that does a bunch of things already, it's called Warframe Mobile. And it has full cross play with consoles and PC. And it has cross save which means if you have an account but want to play on mobile, or a new mobile player that wants better graphic fidelity, it's easy to transfer. And it's not a separate non-canon "alternate timeline" that muddies the lore or sits so far apart from it that players get even more confused.
i agree that there are definitely features here that belong in the real destiny, but ultimately this is a mobile game and mobile games are for children and asians
@@sylokthedefiled not a fan of the controls, tested it with a xbox controller as well as a phone controller it overlays the on screen buttons still with no options for ps or xbox layout as well as unable to turn it off. It reminds me of the Apex mobile situation... The community basically ignored mobile and wished the innovative parts were applied to the mainline game... And then it died...
After what happend to diablo, age of empires and all the other crappy mobile ports I refuse to play it till we have seen all of its scams. On the other hand I am more likely to play this than D2 at this point unless Bungie decides to support Linux bc I'm not using windows 11 with recall. Oh they really pulled a GENSHIN style gacha game instead of a Warframe or TFD style??? LMAO they’ve shoehorned themselves into having to drop anime Instagram baddies otherwise they are NOT going to get the sales they want 💀 that’s such a dumb model to follow for Destiny as opposed to literally just copying and pasting Warframe’s homework
I saw the strike with the big fallen at the end. The boss movement in the cutscene looked like a human with 4 arms instead of fallen. It really hammered in the feeling that there's no soul in this game. Not to mention the voice acting. Sure, "more Destiny" is nice, but this just feels so copy paste and indulgent that it doesn't feel like Destiny. Like many of those "Genshin Killers" out there that take a formula and try to capitalize on it. Not necessarily out of the desire to improve, but to capitalize, like "what would make this feature more attractive". The new Mythic rarity being an example. The crossbow was a great idea, but making it "Mythic"?
I just don’t get it. Players complain about the egregious monetisation in destiny and yet I see the same players defending the heck out of this shitty janky gacha telephone game. Make it make sense.
This is the Walmart of destiny if you want to play “destiny” on the go here u go it’s just for you but if you actually enjoy destiny you will quickly find the game mundane and want more
I don't know how it is. It seems that regular people that are paying for this game a not 😊 able and worthy to try the beta. It's absolutely a shame that you have to hope that you can try it. So it's a beta. What is the reason that only a "few" can play this game? Server's 😂😂😂 I don't know 🤷🏻♂️ But what I know is, I am a consumer, I pay for the game. And I can not try it? And we have a Beta! So Bungie, thanks for nothing. The community are the big streamers. They must have the possibility. Because...... They are paying also for this 😂😂😂😂 It's a shame... Bye Bungie
If you're gonna play a Gacha you might as well play a good one and it doesn't look like it's gonna be this. Why bother with watered down Destiny? Destiny is already watered down. I can't think of any reason I would want to play this. Is the story good? Are the characters interesting or cool? Is the gameplay fun and snappy?
MY thought was it was pretty much straight garbage. My biggest problem is who is this game for? If you like Destiny play Destiny 2, as this feels like a super cheap knock-off with ZERO consideration of any lore, other than name drops. When Tassi said that AI was involved, that explained A LOT, as everything is very generic feeling. The Best way I would describe it would be it was akin to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. There are some cool ideas and CGI, but it ignored or genericized everything from WandaVision and What If, that came before it, so it feels super hollow and unfulfilling. Monetization looks like your worst nightmare, spend hundreds of dollars a month if you want to have the cool toys. Game play is way stripped down. Ultimately this game seems to be for a person who never played any Destiny title, but wants to play a mobile game that uses space cowboy wizards in a generic universe and spend a ton of money on it.
Anyone saying this isn’t trash is either a gatcha player, hasn’t gotten far enough to understand what makes gatcha games bad or just has such a low bar of expectations that they don’t care
The fact that it has systems like clan housing, player trading, sparrow racing, and a new actually rare weapon tier is just insult to injury
A lot of the new perks are pretty cool also and should make their way to the full game. I also like how you can invest into a weapon to change things like barrel/mag ect but not the main perks so RNG still matters. Having legendary and Mythic class barrels and mags is also a cool idea imo.
@zackphy absolutely 100%. Like if D2 had had exotic mods enter in with exotic class items it would've been such a better grind for those

@@Ridgelinehunter007 ok
While I do agree with you on the rags to riches appeal, theres unfortunately a sizable portion of the d2 playerbase who refuse to lose their riches
Lots of things I feel Bungie can take advice on
If only Destiny 2 didn't sunset its onboarding
They give incentives to pull day one. You ain't escaping the trap
I think the saddest thing is that despite it potentially "bad", its still more interesting than anything bungie has done with destiny for so long
Been playing the last few days since the alpha dropped.
Definitely will have to see more as time goes on
I got quite literally 4 minutes of un-skippable ads just to watch this, wtf is going on with RUclips

If you want to use your phone for mobile games consistently, you really need something like a Razer Kishi or Gamesir G8.

Surprised you and SkillUp didn’t talk about Rising on their pod.
I'm happy you are trying it!!
I love how there are so many cool exotic weapons with really cool unique designs, Forcer did a video on it, And it made me sad that it seems like the creativity for weapon designs seems to go out the window at Bungie
i'm so hyped for D:Rising. hopefully it won't take long for this to make the jump over the pond...

Game isn't half bad
But does that mean it's only half good?
@@OtherLit’s a mobile game. never will be ‘good.’
The voice acting is using AI, they’ve already said that they’re going to update the placeholder AI voices with real actors by full release
This will definitely be the latter due to the specific elements and weapon types per hero
@itsKyyyle very good point. Didn't factor the various Destiny systems still yet to be incorporated
Are you on suicide watch, Paul, now that the Orange Man won? Are you gonna be Ok?
It's in the same email you received, letting you know you've been chosen for the Alpha.

Love the beard paul
At some point we need to question Paul’s taste.
Wait, did Paul just compared Destiny 2's writing to Mona Lisa painting??! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh boy
It's funny because watching gameplay of DR the graphics reminds me of OG D1
Basically all I got from this is Destiny Rising is a better Destiny game than even Bungie could manage to create 😮
This game is not made by bungie where the hell do y'all come from
Actually what this game shows is that Bungie was crazy not to devote time and money towards Destiny 3.
Destiny for when I am stuck out of my house
Should have been made available for Nintendo Switch
Destiny should’ve ALWAYS had a 3rd person view as an option. It’s stupid to have cool armor and stuff you can’t really see. Absolutely stupid
All of this can be done for free and all paying does here is speed up the process
I don't mean to defend gachas as a good system but if you refuse to use a non c6 character and complain that getting a c6 character is dumb expensive, bro, idk what to tell you.
@RedShadowOfSaturn how am I lying?

It reminds me of the Apex mobile situation... The community basically ignored mobile and wished the innovative parts were applied to the mainline game... And then it died...
The most interesting thing happening in destiny and it isn't from bungie. Sad.
This feels like a game destined to do good in Asia, where originality is not welcome, with a terrible destiny overlay
gamer moment
So Destiny 2 is doing badly everywhere because it's so original? XD
After what happend to diablo, age of empires and all the other crappy mobile ports I refuse to play it till we have seen all of its scams. On the other hand I am more likely to play this than D2 at this point unless Bungie decides to support Linux bc I'm not using windows 11 with recall. Windows 10 was made to steal your data and somehow windows 11 is worse it's is made solely to train there new ai, you have a slower OS that hogs all the memory for AI f*** that
Oh they really pulled a GENSHIN style gacha game instead of a Warframe or TFD style???
It's an alpha release. Lot of things will probably change between this, beta and release.
I don't think "capitalize" means what you think it does.
that UI is very very very bad there is so much on screen
Alright...
Server's 😂😂😂 I don't know 🤷🏻♂️
But what I know is, I am a consumer, I pay for the game. And I can not try it? And we have a Beta!
So Bungie, thanks for nothing. The community are the big streamers. They must have the possibility. Because...... They are paying also for this 😂😂😂😂
It's a shame... Bye Bungie
I’m sorry Paul, your video was the first for me to have crappier new font for the like count.
Good job Paul, keep ur beard, cuz ya look like an underage boy clean shavin 👍
Bad writing in a Destiny game? Say it isn’t so!
Hard pass. If you need to bust out a controller for this, why not just play actual destiny?
Because it's something new and stuff we haven't seen before. Having played destiny for so long too little has changed.
this is a terrible overview, just go watch Aztecrosses review, its much better.
😁😁
