In my years the “popular” kids weren’t the stereotypical popular people. Honestly they were all nice people and would even hang out with “average” people like me and my friends. Most were in theatre. Wonder what they’re doing now. Even the “cool and popular” kids from high grades were nice to everyone.

I was the opposite case. In middle school I was excluded and bullied by some girls for being "weird" and fat. This kept going even after I went for another school, but this time was worse. It was a private, expensive school and I had no friends. That year I was suicidal and did a lot of bad stuff but the teachers loved me. I was the quiet, artsy, loved math one. The school has a dance group. Some friends of my friend kept practicing during intervals and I liked to observe them. High school comes and new people come in. I quickly made friends with 2 other new girls who were also looked down upon for not having $. One of them decided to join the dance group, and pulled me along.
That year I took a turn for the better. My new dance colleagues were really cool and I seemed to be doing well for someone who never danced before. I decide to revamp my clothes and dancing became my new passion. I was also started on antidepressants. From then on, most people knew me, some were afraid of me but liked me. The next year (sophomore) everyone passed by me in the hallways and greeted me. Even tho I had no money, I had charisma now. I even got a boyfriend who ended up cheating on me and even some mean girls offered help when I needed and was constantly invited to parties. The psychologist and the coordination were amazed at my progress. I ended high school happy. Graduated during the pandemics satisfied, aiming at uni. I still talk with some friends, I'll never forget how much they helped me and didn't know. I'm forever grateful.
I got new friends at uni and life has been great. I'm in the middle of a Nursing grad degree and I'm happy with myself. The past me would be so proud to see me now, how many stories I have to tell that are happy, not sad.

At my school, there were the “popular” people and the popular people. The “popular” people were everyone you expected. Athletes, kids of local politicians, kids of school staff, etc. Everyone could tell the “popular” kids desperately wanted to be the actual popular kids. The popular kids were just…nice people. My older sis was one of them. She was in a lot of clubs, genuinely nice and helpful to everyone, had friends in basically every cliche/group. When someone was bullying me, my sister legit talked with some of the football guys and they pulled the “hey bro that’s not cool quit it” and it stopped.
And no, it wasn’t cus she was dating. She didn’t date in high school. She was just one of the genuinely popular people that people liked.

when i was in high school i was on the baseball team this is important for later. when 9/11 happened this american arabic girl who happened to be muslim got shunned by the popular kid causing everyone to not sit with her at luicn. well one day me and 4 other baseball players who shared lunch togerther got up and walked over and sat down at her table. I told her that no one deserved to sit alone. And two of us would escort her to classes. The pipular kid tried insulting her and pissing off us which got his ass kicked by the rest of the baseball team in the locker room. no one hung out with after that and the girl, she became one of our freinds for life. I felt sad when we went different ways in life. To this day i hope she knows i never forgot her.

Hey undersparked, story 17 kind of happened in my junior high a week ago. (I'm in 7th grade) A kid named Owen C. shot himself about a week ago because 1. His girlfriend had broke up with him 2. Her and several other people were telling him to do it. 3. He had depression and hid it as good as he can, and even was an 8th grade football player! After this happened, people instantly talked about him. We were supposed to wear red the next day. (His favorite color). Every poster in every hallway read LLOC or, Long Live Owen Capriola.

I started becoming known as the quiet weird girl, and then when I finally started recovering and realized I was a lesbian, that set me back farther than being weird ever did. Suddenly most of the school, including several teachers, hated me and wanted me expelled.

Most of the popular kids at the school district I went to from middle school till high school graduation were either always pretty chill or chilled out by high school. Sure, there were a few that tried to flex their status, but most were relatively humble. I don't have any idea where I stood on the ladder, though I wouldn't be surprised if I was somewhere in the middle. Never cared too much, though, as I kept to myself most of the time.
Elementary school was a different story and a different school district. I was definitely more of a target for bullying back then, but it was never all that wild. Just calling me gay or ugly or making fun of my autism. Most of the popular kids were absolutely jerks, if my memory serves me right. None of those things had anything to do with why I moved to the place I went to school from 6th to 12th grades, though.

At my school I had no clue who was popular or unpopular. I just went to class, chatted with my friends, and occasionally went to an event. I have no clue where I'd even catch wind of drama. Like, all these tropes just didn't exist in my school experience.
I had acquaintances say hi to me, I had some teachers that liked me, and I never had any enemies except for two nasty girls in middle school I scolded for mocking a friend of mine. They tried to make fun of me in math class by loudly whispering about me, but I just made expectant eye contact until they stopped. And then I told on both of them for cheating. Dunno if they spread rumors or anything, but if they did then it made zero impact.

Story 28 oof this is why you never ever talk to the popular gays! I'm a gaybo myself and am in no way popular as I keep to myself and my small group of friends I made the fatal mistake of befriending a popular gay guy back in the 6th grade and he'd make fun of me behind my back, spread rumors about me that I slept with some girl and that I was 'lesbian in denial' (I'm a trans man and I don't even like girls nor did I even know who said girl was), he invited me to his birthday party just so that I would have to see my ex whom he also invited for drama. Overall just a strange guy that I'm glad I ditched him in 7th because holy toledo was that guy certainly a life lesson! Weird gay kids never befriend popular/mean gays no matter how "nice" they are to you 🙏

In my case I went from the social director of the group to the one everyone wandered away from when I lost my only parent to a domestic violence situation. Her situation was truly dangerous and she almost died in a strangulation attempt, but refused to leave him even though he was hurting me too. I had to leave her to what she actively chose for my own safety and well being because my grades were awful from stress and lack of sleep, shouting matches, physical violence, blood, tears, etc. I was alone, out of the house, depressed, scared. I found out who my real friends were in that moment, who really loved me over who just USED me. The people who cared spoke to their parents and they allowed me to couch surf at their place until graduation when my high school sweetheart procured housing for us to live together after graduation. Been together ever since. As soon as I was out of that intense situation my grades went back up to faculty list for near perfect grade point average. As for my mom, her boyfriend repaid her love by punching every one of her front teeth out of her head and then almost strangled her to death. She had those broken blood vessels in her eyes like dead strangulation victims have-THAT is how close she came to losing her life for “love”. No honey, that isn’t love. Far from it. Someone who loves you at LEAST cares to keep you ALIVE for fuq’s sake. Wake up. Quit deluding yourself that a REAL love would EVER abuse you. My husband of 29 years has never laid a finger on me even in our worst arguments. He will leave for a while if he gets too upset in order to calm down. He’s still that sweet boy from high school that did everything he could to help me. We argue like everyone else but we love each other with a passion. Always have and always will.

I was the one that ruined the popular boys life. I was 13 and he had just turned 18 I wasn’t an attractive kid I was the quiet one who hated any sort of attention. He brought me chocolates, asked me out in front of everyone. He turned up at my house all the time. My friends kept saying go on a date with him. But I felt something wasn’t right with him. Now my uncle was a cop and I was his favorite niece and one day he was over having dinner with my family when said boy turned up. I hadn’t said anything to my parents about it as I just hoped he would go away. So he turned up again and my uncle noticed I was acting weird. He asked me what was going on. I told him. He said he would deal with it. Don’t know what happened as there was a lot of shouting and I was told to lock myself in the bathroom with my mom. After a while my dad came back in and said my uncle was dealing with him. He didn’t turn back up at school. There were whispers about him going to jail. Fast forward 10 yrs and my uncle told me that he was arrested for pulling a knife of him and my dad. He was also arrested for cp. ( internet and computers were not a thing back then.) but he had VHS tapes and pictures of other girls he had done this too as well. He was released a few years back and disappeared. Hopefully he won’t be hurting other kids again. But who knows. My uncle was an amazing man I miss him everyday. ❤

so in middle school i was the freak of the group but as I got older it became less and less till my senior year when everyone around me was either flirting with me or just wanted to be involved with me (mainly because at that point I was a major stoner, still am) but I really didn't want anything to do with anyone so I just stuck to my one friend. i know that sounds bad but I was known as a lesbian and a lot of girls who wanted to experiment was trying to get with me (I'm not a lesbian btw I'm bisexual who was dating a girl but we had an open relationship)
